“Baby, Jessica and I were just here talking, what’s up?” Jeremy asked me. I looked at my friend who had a smirk on her face while she fixed her skirt, making a show of it.

I took a deep breath before turning to look back at Jeremy, “can we talk in private?”

He searched my eyes and then looked over at Jessica, “you can go now.”

Jessica scoffed but instantly stood up and grabbed her purse before walking out the front door of the apartment.

“I’d also like it if you stopped screwing me and then screwing her,” I told him with as much courage as I could muster.

Jeremy scoffed, “maybe I’d like it if my woman wasn’t loose, but we can’t always get what we want, Marley.”

Tears formed at the corners of my eyes, “it hurts me when you say stuff like that.”

“Baby, come here,” he cooed. I looked at him and he gave me a wide grin. I warily crossed the room and sat on his lap.

“I didn’t want to do it this way, but you left me no choice. Marley, I got you a ring. I’m ready to get married,” he slipped a ring on my finger, and I gasped.

“Really?” I asked him in shock.

“Yeah, baby, I had a whole dinner planned for us, but I thought now was as good a time away any. So, you see baby, nobody can break us up. We’ll be together forever. That’s what you wanted, right?” He said in my ear.

“Alright, I’ve got to get ready for work. Come by later and we can celebrate,” he winked at me, and I had a feeling I knew how he wanted to celebrate.

I smiled at him and as I stood up, he swatted my butt, “don’t forget who you belong to.”

As I left the apartment, I was in a lighter mood as I stared at the ring on my finger. I casually strolled through the roads, making my way back to the mansion where I would begin my work tomorrow.

As I approached the front door, it swung open and Bryce was standing there with a grin on his face, “welcome back!”

“Do rings come this small nowadays?” He asked me.
