CHAPTER SIXTEEN

ALEX'S POV

Sweat was running down my eyes as I pedaled a bicycle up a bumpy hill. This was not how I had expected to spend my evenings after working hard today, having a bicycle race with my boss, But I couldn't deny the excitement I felt. It had been so long I let myself go and have unbridled fun. It felt so fucking good.

"Come on Alex, stop lazing around like a pregnant woman!" Logan's voice reached me. He was in front, having overtaken me a long time ago. I clenched my teeth and decided to overtaks him.

"Hey boss!" I called out, as I steadied the wobbly bicycle.

"Yes Alex?" His voice had an amused lilt in it. I wiped sweat off my brows.

"I would overtake you. You want to place a bet?"

Logan let out a rich laughter that I was sure would leave him breathless.

"That is a very determined thought to have Alex, but it's also very impossible."

He was right, it was almost impossible. But I was going to try anyways.

"You will give me a thousand dollars If I should beat you.
