“ What the hell?” I almost yelled as soon as I stopped out of my room. Liam, Damien and Carl were waiting outside the door or should I say eavesdropping on me. “ We were concerned about that girl,” Liam said. If I didn't know better I would have believed him. I only shook my head with a sigh. “ Come with me,” saying that, I walked to my office which was on the same floor. They all trailed behind me. “ Close the door and take a seat,” I said, walking around the old oak table before sitting on my chair. They all took their seats in front of me and waited for me to continue. Where should I start from? Honestly I don't know either. But one thing I know is that I don't want her to go anywhere but my room. There has been this ache in my chest since I walked out of my room. “ Did anyone call from any pack?” I asked. “ No one called to report any missing members but the beta of the blue heaven pack called,” Damien said, making me raise an eyebrow. They sure are desperate. “ What did he say?” “ He was asking why didn't you show up? They all were waiting for the treaty to be signed,” he replied. “ Ohhh!!!” “ They are really thinking highly of themselves,” I said and looked at Damien, he looked like he wanted to say something. “ What is it?” “ I…. Well….. maybe there is something going on in their pack. I might be wrong but I heard the Alpha was screaming at someone,” he said. “ Send someone there to keep an eye on the blue heaven pack and get information,” I replied, staring at my desk. “ On it.” “ And tell him to find out if Lily was from that pack or not,” I added, nodding his head before linking one of our elite warriors. “ That's all,” I said and stood up, turning my back towards Carl and Liam. I stared out of the window towards the sky, the sun had set casting a beautiful orange glow over the land. But my thoughts were somewhere else or with someone. Alpha?” Liam’s voice pulled me out of my chain of thoughts. I didn't turn around to face them, I waited for him to continue. “ The elder called Scarlett to come here,” he continued. “ They chose her to be your chosen mate,” my blood boiled at the words. But in the back of my eyes I could only see the picture of Lily. Her innocent face. “ F*ck,” I cursed loudly. “ They won't stop until I interfere,” I said as I turned around. The previous softness and emotions were gone, replaced by the cold. “ let her come. And let them think that I am going with their plans,” I said with an evil smirk. I know exactly why they are doing this. They think I don't know anything about what is going on inside of my kingdom. But they forgot I am their king. “ Forgive me for saying this Alpha.” “ But you do need a mate before your 30th Birthday. Or…… he trailed off when I glared at him. “ I don't need anyone. Not until I found out who she is,” I said. “ Is she your mate?” Liam asked carefully. “ No.” Something inside of me broke a little as the words left my mouth. What are you doing to me, little flower? “ Ok,” and with that they both left me in my office with thousands of questions which I didn't know the answers to yet. Louise “ Where is he?” I demanded when after waiting for almost 5 hours for him, he didn't arrive. “ I….. I am sorry but his beta informed me that there was something urgent so they couldn't come,” Ben replied with his head hung low. Clenching my teeth, I slammed my first in the centre table of the living room. I was already pissed because of Lily and now how dare he make me wait? And how dare she reject me? Fu**. I need to teach her a lesson for disobeying her Alpha. I turned around to walk back to my room when I was stopped by Alpha David. “ Where do you think you are going?” He demanded. “ To my room,” I replied. “ I don't know what you have done to piss the Alpha king. But you will fix it and get his sign on the treaty,” he deadpaned as he looked into my eyes. F**k it, first lily and now this. I am really going to teach her a lesson for rejecting me and then I will mark her after marking Veronica. She thinks she can escape me? Never. She is my mate and she will remain by my side. I just turned around to go upstairs to her when Lily's words echoed through the mind link. “ I, Lily Anderson severed all ties with, blue heaven pack,” and snapped a chorus of painful groans that could be heard in the living room. It's not just me, everyone heard it. “ She escaped?” I asked, more to myself. “ What did you do to her?” Ben was on me holding my collar while his father was holding him from behind. “ What is happening here?” Alpha David’s voice boomed. “ I am asking you something, Alpha. What did you do to her?” He asked again. “ She rejected me,” I said looking into his eyes. For a moment he looked taken aback as his hold on my collar loosen. “ What?” David asked, not me but Ben. “ she…….. he started but couldn't speak. “ Benjamin Cole, I demand to know what is going on here?” my father asked using his authority. “ She is… was his mate,” that was it. A round of gasps echoed through the hall followed by pin drop silence. “ What?” My mother asked as if she couldn't believe in her ears. “ Lily was your mate?” She was in disbelief. It took her a moment to gather herself before she stood right in front of me. “ you were already blessed with a fated mate yet you still chose to take a chosen mate,” it wasn't a question it was a statement. And the next second my head snapped to the left with a cracking sound as she slapped me with all her strength. “ you raised your hand on me?” “ Because of……. “ Choose your next words carefully, Louise or else we will forget that you are our son,” my father said as he stood right beside his raging mate. “ You broke her and now she is gone,” Ben's words were a mere whisper but we heard it. “ you all are so riled up because of a low born, pathetic weak she wolf…… my words were cut off abruptly when my father grabbed my throat stopping the air supply. “ Don't you dare disrespect her,” were his words before he let go of me. “ Find her….. even if you have to dig the earth or tear the sky apart. We want her here safe in this house,” my mother said, turning her face away in disgust. “ I will, and when I do she is going to regret ever escaping from the pack,” I spat before turning around.LilyThe next morning arrived with an uneasy stillness that I couldn't explain. I had barely slept after the memory of my father returned, and every time I closed my eyes, I could see him kneeling in front of me and fastening the silver charm around my neck. His frightened expression had stayed with me throughout the night, especially the way he had told me that someone would eventually come looking for me.I sat at the edge of the bed and stared at the charm resting against my palm. I wanted to understand what it was, why my father had protected it so carefully, and why Maya seemed to know more than she was willing to tell me. The unanswered questions were beginning to feel like a weight inside my chest, but I also knew that forcing myself to remember everything at once could do more harm than good.A soft knock came from the door, and before I could answer, Athea entered carrying a tray of food. She gave me a long look before placing it on the table.“You look terrible,” she said, p
LilyThe journey back to Black Smoke felt different from the one that had brought us to the old Anderson property. I had spent most of the ride with my father's letter resting safely inside my bag, my fingers occasionally touching the fabric as if I needed to make sure it was still there. I had spent years believing that my parents had died without leaving anything behind for me, yet now I had their house, my father's handwriting, a photograph, and more questions than I could count. Every answer seemed to open another door, and behind every door waited something that made me question the life I thought I had lived.Caspian sat beside me, unusually quiet as he stared through the windshield. I could tell from the way his jaw tightened every few minutes that he was thinking about the man we had found near the house. He had died before telling us who had sent him, but his final words continued to echo in my mind. The girl was never supposed to survive. I didn't understand why anyone would
CaspianThe northern forest has always been one of the quietest parts of my territory. Even the animals seemed to avoid certain sections of it, and the deeper we travelled, the more uncomfortable the atmosphere became. I sat in the back of the SUV with Lily beside me, while Damien drove and Liam followed in another vehicle with six warriors.I had barely spoken since we left the mansion. Not because I didn't have anything to say, but because my mind was working through every possibility. The old Anderson property had been abandoned for years, yet someone had recently left a photograph of Lily near my eastern border. That meant the person responsible either knew about the house or wanted us to believe they did.Neither possibility made me comfortable. Lily sat beside the window, her fingers moving repeatedly over the silver charm around her neck. She had been quiet too, but every few minutes I noticed her staring into the forest as though she was trying to recognize something hidden be
LilyThe room became completely silent after David's words. I stared at him, trying to understand what he had just said, but my mind refused to accept it. My father had been investigating me? How could that even be possible when I was only a child? What could there possibly be about me that would make him spend his last days searching for answers?“What do you mean he was investigating me?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.David looked at me with something that resembled guilt, but he still didn't answer immediately. Caspian stepped closer to me, his hand finding mine as if he could sense that my legs were about to give up.“Answer her,” Caspian said, his voice low and threatening. David swallowed before looking between us.“Your father discovered something about you when you were very young,” David finally said.“He noticed that your body reacted differently to certain things. You healed faster than other children, and sometimes your wolf would react to things before anyone
LilyI woke up to the warmth of something wrapped around my waist, and for a few seconds I remained still with my eyes closed, enjoying the unfamiliar comfort. The scent surrounding me was something I had started associating with safety, and the steady warmth against my back made me reluctant to move. Then I remembered where I was. My eyes opened slowly, and I looked down to see a strong arm wrapped around my waist.Caspian. My heart immediately started beating faster.I carefully turned my head and found him sleeping behind me. His face looked completely different when he was asleep. The usual coldness was gone, and the tension that always seemed to sit around his eyes had disappeared. His dark hair was slightly messy, and his breathing was slow and peaceful. I smiled without realizing it.I didn't know how I had ended up this close to him during the night, because I remembered there being a respectable distance between us when we had fallen asleep. Apparently, one of us had moved.A
LilyThe ride back from the council estate was silent, but it wasn't an uncomfortable silence. I sat beside Caspian in the back seat, staring through the window as the lights of the city slowly disappeared behind us. My mind was still trying to process everything that had happened tonight. I had walked into the ball not knowing who I was, and I had walked out remembering almost everything I had spent days trying to recover.I remembered Blue Heaven. I remembered David and Sara taking me in after my parents died.I remembered growing up in a place that never truly felt like home. I remembered Veronica's cruelty.I remembered Ben and his family being some of the only people who treated me like I mattered. And I remembered Louise. The memories were painful, but they no longer felt like pieces of someone else's life. They were mine.I lowered my gaze towards my hands and noticed that they were trembling slightly. Caspian noticed immediately.“You're shaking,” he said, reaching for my hand
LilyI opened my eyes hearing the soft beeping sound of a machine and tilted my head towards the sound only to see a monitor. But I was too tired to keep them open, so I closed my eyes with a soft sigh.“ She is awake,” a soft feminine voice said which made me open my eyes again.I looked towards t
Caspian “ I don't care,” I growled, opening my eyes as I looked at all of the members sitting around the table.“ You have to. You are the Alpha king and you are almost 30 yet you haven't found your mate yet,” Edward said, looking towards me expecting an answer from me.“ What do you suggest we sh
Lily“ Where am I?” I asked myself with a groan, blinking my lashes rapidly. I wasn't in the hospital anymore. The sheet under me felt soft and silky and comfortable, making me not want to get up unless I took a deep breath. The moment the familiar scent hit my nostrils my whole body went stiff. A
Lily‘Oh goddess no please’I had lost count of how many times I had pleaded with the moon goddess in my mind to not let them strike me more.“ Argh,” I screamed yet again when Veronica's feet made contact with my stomach.“ You pathetic piece of sh*t,” she snarled at me as she continuously hit me
