Chapter 3: The Run

I walked out the back door of the pack house to the forest. I go behind a tree and take off my clothes. I put the clothes in a bag I brought with me and hung them on the tree.

Okay Alicia are you ready? I asked

Alicia just purred letting me know she was ready.

I took a big breath and started to shift. My bones broke and rearranged and before I knew it Alicia was out. I let her take control. She stretched and shook out her fur. After that she started running. I knew where she was going. There is a beautiful creek with a waterfall in the middle of the forest and it was Alicia's all time favorite place to go. We got to the creek in a matter of minutes.

Wow Alicia if I didn't know any better I'd say you are getting faster and stronger. I say to my wolf

Well it helps that you've been going for a run in the morning and at night not including you also go for a run when you're mad. So yes I'd say I am getting faster and stronger thanks to you. Alicia says

We walk over to the creek and we just look into the water. I honestly love looking at Alicia. She's a rare wolf. She has silver fur that sparkles in the light and my bright green eyes. She stands almost as tall as a male wolf and is taller than some of the male wolves in our pack. My dad always told me the reason Alicia is so big is because I'm a pure Alpha Female. I don't have any other blood running through my veins. Being a pure Alpha Female has its advantages. Like being faster then most male wolves. Being more in tune with my wolf senses and I always know when something bad is going to happen.

Alicia than bends down and gets a drink. Right than we hear a twig snap. Alicia's ears perk up and I know she heard the same thing I did. We look around into the dark but don't see anything.

I know we don't see anything yet but be on alert. I tell Alicia

I will. We should probably head back anyway. It’s getting late and we have to be up early. Alicia tells me as she starts running towards where we left my clothes.

That's when we were tackled to the ground by a small grey wolf. Alicia starts growling but doesn't attack yet. I look closely and realize it's my friend Samantha. Everyone has been so surprised about Samantha and I being friends. Samantha is an Omega and helps out around the pack house. Both of her parents are Omegas. Her dad works on the pack farm and her mother works in the kitchen at the pack house. Her mother started bringing her around to help when she was about 4 and we just hit it off and have been friends since. Everyone use to give Samantha a hard time because she's an Omega but I put a stop to that as soon as I found out. Being the Alphas daughter definitely has its perks.

Alicia calms down and I ask Samantha what are you doing out here through the mind link

Same as you. Took Bethany for a run. Says Samantha

We could have hurt you. I told Samantha

I know but you didn't. Samantha said nonchalantly

So I hear you're leaving tomorrow? Samantha said but with a question in her tone.

Unfortunately. I said

Well I have some good news kinda. Samantha said

What's that? I asked

Well as you know I turned 18 6 months ago. No Suitor has been interested in me. My parents kept telling me someone would come along one day and want me. Well I've been sold. I was sold to a warrior in the Blood Moon Pack. I also leave tomorrow with you. Samantha said while smiling and looking at me.

Wait so you're going to be in the same pack as me? I asked getting excited

YES! She exclaimed

We continued to walk and talk about the pack and our suitors. We finally reached the tree that I left my clothes at and I shifted back and put my clothes on. Samantha shifted back behind the tree next to the tree I was at and put her clothes on.

I was now getting use to the idea of being away from home since my best friend was coming with me. Of course I knew that more than likely she wouldn't live at the pack house and I dreaded the thought of having to mate with that monster but what's done is done and I just have to accept my fate. I’m just hoping that Alpha Jackson has some decency and he doesn’t end up killing me.

I am definitely not looking forward to going with him. I tell Alicia

Let’s get through the night and most of the day tomorrow. Everything will be alright. Alicia tells me as I walk into the pack house.
