Scarlett’s POV
The full moon lit up the sky, its silvery glow shining down on the enormous estate in front of me. My heart was racing as I stepped out of the taxi, the long and flowing skirt of my stolen blue gown brushing the gravel under my feet. I stood still for a moment, staring in awe at the mansion before me.
Alpha Dante’s manor was stunning and intimidating, with tall towers reaching into the night sky and ivy climbing up its dark stone walls. A warm light glowed from its windows, and I could hear the faint thrum of music and laughter spilling out.
I adjusted the mask on my face and took a deep breath. The air smelled fresh and wild, like pine trees mixed with something deeper…like something untamed. My wolf stirred faintly inside me as if sensing my excitement once again.
Two guards dressed in black stood there with sharp and serious eyes. I hesitated, feeling small and out of place in this grand world. My gown, my courage, even my dreams—they all felt stolen.
“Name?” one of the guards asked, his deep voice making me jump.
“Scarlett,” I said quickly, trying to sound confident.
He gave a short nod and stepped aside, letting me through. Phantom Moon pack was a bizarre place with even bizarre rules. How could such a grand ball be open to just anyone? In my pack, you need to be a nobility to step feet in such a ball. But Alpha Dante and his pack have adversity with hierarchy. It was even unbelievable that there were no nobles in the Phantom Moon Pack. Everybody was equal. What sort of sick joke was it?
The moment I stepped inside, my breath caught in my throat.
Five ballrooms. Each one is more captivating and dangerous than the last. The one I was here for?
The Forbidden Chamber.
The first ballroom was a mating chamber, which was a place where desperate werewolves gathered in search of their fated mates. The second was for marking them, where wolves claimed their mates in ritualistic ceremonies. But it was the third ballroom, the Forbidden Chamber, that called for me.
It was here that the boldest of our kind gathered, where instincts ruled, and desires were explored without restraint. I didn’t care for fated mates or marking rituals. I wasn’t here for love or destiny. I was here for something darker. Something like sin.
I reached the door of the Forbidden Chamber, took a steadying breath and with both hands, pushed it open.
The sight that greeted me made my pulse spike. Bodies intertwined in every direction. Passion, power, and pleasure all mixed into a heady and intoxicating blend. My eyes darted from scene to scene. Women kissing, men dominating, and everyone lost in their highest pleasures.
“Holy shit,” A gasp escaped my lips when I saw the first pair—a red-haired woman sucking on the blonde’s breast, while the brunette kissed the blonde passionately. Their bodies were bare except for the masks they wore.
Before I could process what I was witnessing, I bumped into someone.
“Step aside,” a voice snarled.
I looked up into the eyes of a man whose cock was buried deep inside a woman, her mask barely covering her face was red and sweaty the rest of her body. He gripped her dark hair as he thrust into her. Each movement was punctuated by a harsh slap to her ass.
I couldn’t move. I couldn’t think.
What had I walked into?
Nudity. Orgies. Hungry lesbians. Dominating men. Bondage. It felt like stepping into the pages of some forbidden fantasy. But this wasn’t fantasy. This was real.
And then I saw her.
A woman in a black leather dress with her breasts exposed while standing proudly on a stage. A man was caning her ass, the sharp cracks were echoing through the chamber. Despite the pain, her face was twisted in ecstasy, a look of pleasure that defied reason.
A voice near my ear made me freeze.
“Like what you see?”
I turned to face him. A tall, broad man with obsidian eyes that pierced deep into me. He wore a plain black mask, such a contrast to his dark suit with velvet streaks, and was making him appear even more mysterious and dangerous.
“Dante!” I screamed, feeling a sharp stabbing pain shoot through my entire body. It was like something was tearing me apart from the inside.“Baby, calm down!” Dante said gently, rubbing my back with his warm hand, trying to help me breathe through the pain.“Calm down?” I snapped at him, my voice filled with rage. “How dare you tell me to calm down right now?!”“I’m sorry, baby,” he said softly, looking worried and helpless.“Don’t you ‘sorry’ me!” I shouted, breathing heavily. “You’re not the one going through this!”I was shaking from the pain, the exhaustion, and the frustration. I turned to the doctors. They were checking how far along I was, how many centimeters dilated. But they kept saying I wasn’t ready yet. Not fully dilated. Not yet time. But it felt like it was time. My body was screaming at me. It felt like I was going to die.“What the hell is wrong with everyone?!” I shouted, tears running down my face. “I’m in so much pain, and no one is helping!”Dante stayed by my si
Scarlet’s POV“I can finally breathe,” I said softly to myself as I stepped into our home in the capital. The house was perfectly situated near the beach, and the gentle sound of the ocean waves drifting through the windows made me feel a calm I hadn’t known in days. It was incredible to finally be somewhere that felt safe, somewhere that wasn’t filled with whispers, conspiracies, or the constant tension that seemed to follow us.Amy was beyond excited to be home. She ran ahead of Dante and me, showing him every corner of the house as if it were a magical castle she had just discovered. Her laughter echoed in the halls, and it was infectious as I couldn’t help but smile. Meanwhile, I wandered into the kitchen, my stomach growling as hunger hit me hard. The kitchen staff had already stocked the counters with everything we might need and had even prepared a few dishes in advance. I settled on a sandwich, perching on the kitchen counter as I took my first bite. There was a different kin
“what sxript is he following?” I asked Dante as I saw the king serving me breakfast. When we went to have breakfast, he was already there with a wide smile on his face. “Don’t pay him attention.” Dante told me. But how can I not? He was laughing as if I owe him money or something. Truly, it was making my skin crawl. “Scarlet, is the food not to your liking?” He asked me with a tender smile that I wasn't aware that he was capable of it. “No, its fine.” I said. “How is Violet?”“The doctors said that she is doing way better,” He told me. “Dante and I were thinking of leaving for the phantom moon,”I said. “Why do you have to leave so early?” He asked me. “I mean, Violet is still not well yet. It would be good if you both stay here.”“Scarlet is in her last trimester,”Dante said. “We want to be prepared for delivery. And she cannot travel much. After a few days, ut would get hectic for her. I don’t want to put her health or babys in any danger.”The king pondered for a moment. “You
Scarlet’s POV“You need to rest now,” Dante said firmly as he wrapped his arms around me, keeping me close against his chest. His voice was soft but left no room for argument. “You’ve been running around all day. I can’t let you fall sick too.”Amy was already fast asleep in the small bed beside ours, her tiny body curled up like a kitten under the blanket. We were staying in the guest wing of the palace, but something about this place always felt strange to me, like it was too quiet kr too cold. I could never feel at ease here, no matter how much I tried. It was like some invisible wall stood between me and everyone else. My instincts never let me lower my guard, not even for a moment.“I know…” I whispered, my voice weak and tired. For a while, I just rested my head against Dante’s shoulder, trying to steady my thoughts. Then I said softly, “Dante, when I was in Violet’s room earlier, the Crown Prince came in.”Dante looked at me instantly, his hold tightening.“There was something
Dante's POV“Dante, I am ashamed,” the king said quietly, his voice heavy with regret.I let out a bitter laugh. “You should be. What kind of father abandons his own blood?”“The kind who didn’t know if his daughter was real or just an illusion created by his mate,” the king replied, his tone flat but filled with pain. “Violet used to speak about the baby she lost, the one she abandoned... but I never found proof of that child’s existence. I thought it was her mind playing tricks on her— or rief twisting memories into dreams. I never knew Scarlet was real… not until it was too late.”He looked down, his eyes shadowed. “When I finally discovered that she existed, Violet had another breakdown. That’s why I couldn’t tell Scarlet the truth. Violet’s guilt is eating her alive. Every day she dies a little more inside.”I stared at him. “So you’re saying Violet tried to end her life because of Scarlet?”He frowned. “You’re twisting my words. I never said that. Violet did it because she could
Dante’s POVI saw Scarlet inside the room. She stood very still, looking at Violet with eyes full of unshed feeling. She was talking to the doctors, listening to every question and answer, and I watched each tiny movement. She seemed to know every little detail about Violet’s health, as if she had been studying it for days and not just a few minutes. The look on her face was fierce and raw, like a cub who had found its mother in danger. She was so close to Violet, so painfully connected, that I could not stop the questions forming in my head.I walked away and then back toward the king’s study. I could not leave it alone. When Scarlet heard that Violet had tried to take her own life, she had not thought of herself at all. She did not know about the fact that she was pregnant and vulnerable. Nothing else mattered to her except getting to Violet, holding her, and making sure she was breathing and alive. She would not stop until Violet answered her questions herself. That kind of single
