KALILA POV

The room was silent, save for my ragged breathing.

I was sure Ares heard it too, but he chose to ignore me as he sipped his Brandy.

I watched him intently, trying to decipher what he was thinking, but his face was a blank slate.

After downing the contents of his glass in one gulp, he raised an eyebrow at me. "Are you finished?" he asked in an icy tone that made me flustered. "Let's revisit the past, shall we? I never forced you to be with a self-centred, egotistical, pompous jerk like myself. You chose this, remember? Your obsession led you to the position you're in now."

Obsession? A warning flashed in his eyes, telling me not to push any further. But I was beyond caring and disregarded the fierce glint in his eyes.

Although I wasn't Dahlia, he was fucking arrogant!

He must fucking think the world revolved around his pompous ass!

"I am not obsessive!" I snapped. "Perhaps I was blind before, and I take responsibility for that. But now, Ares, I see you for who you truly are.
