27 - Cruel Mate

“C- calm down. It’s okay. It’s fine.” she muttered as she spun around to make sure nothing was behind her. At least this was not a closed room. She would have suffocated to death by now.

The darkness was covering the entire ground. Only the moonlight falling from the sky was lighting the entire area. But it was very weak. Her heart was already in her throat. She was just scared now, but her panic attack was just one breath away.

More than ten minutes had passed. She had tried to call cabs and her friends but nothing was working. She was too far away from the territory to be able to mindlink anyone. She was breathing heavily as she crouched down under the tree. Anxious, terrified, and alone. She had tried to shift into her wolf but whenever she was surrounded by darkness, it had been impossible for her to do it.

Salty tears spilled over onto her cheeks leaving a tight, dry feeling. Crouching under a tree, she kept calling her friends on her phone, and just about anyone she could reach
