Chapter 04

2 Years Later.

"Oh good gracious! You scared the living hell out of me!" My hand was on my chest as I stared at the man covered in a raincoat and waiting for me right in front of my apartment.

I tucked my hand into my bag and brought out my keys.

"What are you doing here again?"

As I opened the door, we both walked into my house, and I offered him a seat. I walked towards the kitchen, picked up a neat glass, and filled it with fresh juice from the fridge.

"You keep coming every month without stopping." I took my seat. He was staring at me, but it was something that I was already used to.

"Tell me, Damian, how long do you think you're gonna keep trying."

For one, I hated Damian so much back in the days, but two years ago, he was the one who saved me. He was my guardian angel that day I almost ended my life. He saved me from a running truck, and till today, I am still so very grateful to him.

I sipped from the glass of juice and dropped it on the table. Damian wasn't so bad after all. He was nothing like I always painted him to be in the past, and I realized it two years ago when I was abandoned by everyone.

"It's time for you to come back home Mia. For starters, you cannot keep living here. This isn't where you belong."

I rolled my eyes. He had been trying to convince me to come back home for three months now, but I kept refusing. "Maybe you need me to explain the meaning of banish. If I step my foot back in the pack, then I'll be dead, and you know it Damian."

"I said I'd protect you."

"Definitely not from the burning hatred of my father and my pack after what I did two years ago. Why don't you hate me as well?"

He rose up on his feet. "I'll be back again." He ignored my question again.

Deep down, I told myself that no matter how Damian was going to convince me, I wouldn't give in and go. I was fine here. Living a simple average life, just like I always wanted. At least I was fine with the past now, and I had learned to stop hating myself already.

Damian had no idea why I didn't want to go, and I didn't want him to know either. As he took a step, his phone rang and I watched him pull it out from his side pocket.

"I'll be there right now."

The way he replied, and the way he turned around to look at me made me scared. "What's wrong?"

"It's your sister." He said

I arched my brows in surprise, and rose up on my feet in an instant. "Mia?"

"She's in danger!?"

"What?"

It felt like he knew. He knew my sister would be the only weapon he could use to get me back to the crescent pack. Back to the past that I had left behind two years ago.

*******

When the car halted right in front of my father's mansion, I was so scared. I had no idea what to think, but I was scared to step down from the car.

It was like I was walking right back into the past that I was avoiding so much. My heart was racing, and my hands were shaking, but then I had a reason for coming back.

My plan was to make sure my sister was alright and head back to the city immediately. I might be denying it for so long, but I really miss everyone, especially Mia.

I tried to take a step into the house, but then I couldn't. I sucked a deep breath in and clenched my hands telling myself to be bold, and when I finally took a step forward, I heard Mia's voice.

"Elena?"

I froze.

I didn't look back.

I thought I had heard wrong until I heard her call my name again.

"Elena?"

When I heard her for the second time, I immediately turned around. Mia was standing behind me. Everything about her changed so much over the short span of two years. I was staring intently at her and I couldn't take my eyes off. I was just realizing that I miss my sister like hell.

I recalled telling her not to come for me and to live her best life trying to make our father proud. Mia changed so much from the lady I knew two years ago. She now had blonde hair, she had grown taller, and even more pretty.

A smile escaped my lips as Mia ran towards me and hugged me tight. "Sis." She called. Hell, I really miss that word so much. I couldn't help it as tears rolled down my eyes. "Mia, I'm here. Your big sis is here now."

I was rubbing her hair. I didn't want to let her go.

"When did you get here sis?"

"Just now. I came for you, are you alright?"

"Let's go in." Damian cut off.

"I can't go in. I have to leave now."

"Now! Can't you stay a little longer? Let's go to my house instead." She said, I stared at Damian and smiled at him. He nodded back because he knew I was thanking him.

Mia and I went to her car, and she drove out of our father's mansion. It was really hurting that I didn't see him, but I knew I would only remind him of 2 years ago. I know what I did, and I didn't want to feel sorry for it again.

The house Mia stopped in, it was familiar. The very moment she entered the blood crest pack, I was finding it hard to understand what the hell was going on.

I waited without asking any questions until she halted her car, and opened the door to step down. I also got down, and when I looked around, I was reminded of the past immediately.

"Mia, where are we?" I questioned.

This was a place I didn't want to be, at least not yet. I continued staring at her.

The smile on her face immediately faded as she was walking towards me. She touched my hand and rubbed it gently.

"My husband's home, sis." She said to me, It was even more confusing to me. The one place I would never forget was this mansion because it was where the man I had secretly loved and admired rejected me without remorse.

"Alessandro is my husband."

I heard wrong. "What?" I said this to myself asking myself why Mia would do this to me. I was trying to be calm and not blame her.

"I'm doing this for you sis, I'm doing this to make him suffer for what he did to you two years ago." She said, but we were immediately interrupted when Alessandro walked right into the gate and halted the moment his eyes met with that of mine.

This time, I could see something different in them as I stared back at him trying to cover my admiration with hate.
