HOW IT ALL STARTED

ELENA:

I stayed under the shower trying so hard to get my head wrapped up with everything that was going on in my bed.

"I lost my baby?"

Then I recalled the doctor's word because it went like this, and it got stuck into my head.

"Congratulations Mrs Elena George, you're two months pregnant."

My world nearly sank when I heard him. It felt like the world was crumbling on me, and I was finding it hard to breathe properly. My brain, head, body, it was all on fire. I fluttered my brows multiple times before returning back to my senses.

"What did you just say?".

"I said, you're pregnant Ms Elena. Congratulations." He repeated. That was the moment I knew I had heard him correctly. I couldn't cry because it was my mistake, and there was no use crying over already spilled milk. I collected the results from him and rose up on my feet. I was out of town and this was someplace even my father wouldn't find me.

I got out of the hospital and got into the car immediately, then in frustration, I rested my head on the steering wheels and began to think back to two months ago.

TWO MONTHS AGO.

My sister and I, Mia, were the closest thing in the world. We were always everywhere together, we were like five and six and we always had each other's back every time.

That wasn't just it, and I would say my family was blessed with wealth, fame, and power. My father, Richard George was the Alpha of the white crescent pack and my mother, his Luna, was late already.

Mia and I barely had any memories of her because she died when Mia was born and I was only 2 then.

Our pack was meant to have a party to celebrate our victory in moving forward, especially in the business world, and my father's fame was only growing everyday.

We had just one simple rule, and that was never to interact with the enemies. They were known as the blood crest pack. The most dangerous in all of Russia, and our pack's greatest enemy.

Mia and I were to lead by example if we wanted others to follow our footsteps, and we were doing fine, until one night, the night everything changed drastically. One night I broke the rule. It was the night my father was considering ending the feud between the blood crest pack and the crescent pack.

"What's wrong, Elena, you've been staring at the walls for an entire hour now." Mia questioned me. The look on my face was enough to tell her that I wasn't happy, not even a single bit.

"Mia." I called, tapping on the seat close to me with a gesture that I wanted her to take a seat. She did so, and I immediately heaved deeply.

"What's wrong sis?"

"What kind of world do you think is out there? I mean one outside this whole family rule of a thing. Don't you hate it so much?"

I was the stubborn and naughty one, and honestly, I didn't want to bring Mia into my own world. She was still trying so hard to gain our father's love because he had always made her feel responsible for our mother's death.

"I just really wanna live in a different world, yunno, far away from the rules."

Mia widened her eyes in shock. I cocked my head towards the direction of the table at the front, and there he was, sitting so majestically with a glass of wine in his hands.

Alessandro Russo, the greatest leader and businessman there ever is. I had absolutely no idea what I liked about him, but it was everything. His looks, his built up body, his coldness, every damn thing.

"You must really be insane right now, Elena." I guess Mia finally understood what was in my mind. I smiled as I turned my gaze back at her.

"I thought it ended long ago. Those stupid feelings you had for him."

"Don't call it stupid, Mia, I'd rather you call it magical."

"Father's going to kill you if he finds out. I swear to God Elena, you'll lose everything."

"That's why I wanna wait, and it's why I'm willing to confess to him after the peace making."

"And do you think it'll work? I mean, think about this, Elena, both packs had been in this hatred for so many years even before you were born. What makes you think today's gonna change anything?"

"It's gonna work, trust me, Mia, I'm gonna make it work." I brought my hands closer to her and squeezed her hands. "That's why I need your support. You're the only one I can trust."

Mia nodded her head in agreement. I knew I could always count on my sister when I needed her. "What do you need me to do?"

"I need to talk to Alessandro, privately, and I need enough time to do that. Back me up when I leave, and kindly drop this for any of his men around him."

"Elena?" I heard my father call my name and I immediately assumed he wanted to introduce me to even more people. I opened Mia's palm and dropped the letter in it, then I winked at her.

"Do this for me sis. I'll be there in 20 minutes, so take it now." I whispered to her as I rose up on my feet. She didn't utter a word in response, but then I assumed her silence meant she was going to help me.

I began walking towards my father and his awaiting guest. He was standing close to my father, the one person I hated most in the entire universe_ Damian.

"Hi, Elena." He greeted me. I was forced to greet back because of my father, and even worse, with a fake smile. I took my gaze away from him and averted them to my father.

"Dad, you should rest, you look stressed."

Damian's father chuckled and said, "What a lovely daughter you have here. I must say, my son didn't pick the wrong one indeed."

My father laughed, but then deep inside, those words disgusted me and made me avoid Damian's gaze. After discussing for about 3 minutes, both our father's decided to leave us together, alone.

This was probably going to be the worst night of my life, especially because I had somewhere to be. The one thing I couldn't do was to keep Alessandro waiting for long.

He pulled out a chair for me, and I sat down. I was desperately thinking of a way to get the hell away from him, but I couldn't think of any.

2 minutes later, I was still seated hearing him boast and say things that I wasn't even interested in. He was nothing compared to Alessandro, so I wasn't interested. It was getting really boring, while I was getting really worried.

I was done drinking a glass of wine, and then 2 more. "You should take it easy, you're gonna get drunk." Damian warned me, but I wished I had listened to him. Fortunately for me, Mia came to my rescue.

To make things look a bit bad, she spilled red wine on my white dress, and gave me a sign with her eyes.

"Oh goodness, I'm so sorry, sis. It was a…"

"Are you alright?" Damian questioned and I nodded immediately.

"Mia, why don't you sit here and keep him company, I need to go get changed, and I'll be back in a jiffy okay." I stared at Damian, and once he nodded his head in approval, I began to walk away. I needed to hurry.

Along the way, I began to feel my head spinning so bad. I was taking the stairs up to a dressing room to get changed and hurry to Alessandro as I was greatly worried he would be waiting for me.

A few more steps, and I immediately felt my head burning up. My vision was becoming blurry and I had no idea what the hell was wrong with me. When I lost balance and was about to fall, someone came to my rescue and held me by my waist. I couldn't see his face properly, but I could feel he wasn't looking so good either.

My wolf, Jane, she was going crazy. The hormones, they were just so high, and I couldn't control it either. He took me into a room and placed me on the bed with my eyes half closed.
