I rush off into the woods, but I’m unable to shift and the forest floor hurts my bare feet. I have to push through the pain though, I need to keep moving. I need to get to safety.

I can hear my father’s voice as he yells for me and I can hear the woman complain, “I thought you said she would cooperate!”

The world begins to spin, and I have a hard time moving properly. It’s like the trees have doubled and I can’t tell if I’m standing up or not anymore. I keep moving my feet, even if I’m on the ground I could just crawl away. But how am I supposed to know if I’m crawling or running?

I feel my father’s hand grab my ankle as he yells, “Gotcha!”

I scream out and tears pour down my face. What am I going to do?

My legs kick with all their might, but it’s like it’s nothing for my dad. The woman says, “Finally, let’s tie her up and get this thing done with.”

I scream out as loud as I can and I call for the only person I believe could save me, “MAVEN!”
