Chapter 5- Declan POV-

** You’ll see the word Weres a lot in this story, it is short for werewolf or werewolves  **

Hello, my name is Declan. I am the current Lycan King, I am 1301 years old, I have been the Lycan King for 800 years. I took over the Kingdom and Palace from the former Lycan King Liam; it was not a peaceful transition of power.

I stand 6’8” tall, I have long black hair that comes to the middle of my back, I wear it tied up, my eyes are grey, like the sky after a thunderstorm. I’m strong, long, and lean with sculped abs, defined leg muscles, and strong arms. I’m not built like the triplets; I don’t fill doorways with my bulk. That is one way to tell a Lycan from a werewolf, Lycans are longer and leaner, Weres are built like brick houses. Weres strength is pure power and brute force. Lycan strength is different, it’s more elegant, I guess you’d say. No shade to Weres, I’ve fought a few of them in my time, it’s not fun.

I arrived at this pack with Reilly. Reilly was believed to be my son, so he was to tag along to get the jest of negotiations between two Supernatural species. However, upon arriving to this pack both Reilly and I were informed that after further testing preformed by a lab in Upper Egypt, he wasn’t my son but my half-brother. I came to this pack a few days ago on official business, not knowing at the time that my enforcer Dante had found his mate here. I guess he didn’t really find her here, he has known her for many years, as he is one of her four Guardians. Needless to say, every day in this pack has been an eventful one. Nope, every hour in this pack has been an eventful one. I haven’t had time to process a lot of what I’ve learned, and the hits keep on coming.

Anyway, two nights ago, one of my trusted top aides tried to poison me with Oleander extract. It would’ve worked if I was alone. I wasn’t alone, I was having a much-needed conversation with my mate Aslie Neferet-Sandolf.

I royally (no pun intended) screwed things up when I got here. I acted without thinking and upon seeing my beautiful mate, I marked her, not knowing that she had other mates. Let’s be honest, I don’t even think I knew her name when I marked her. I have been searching high and low for my fated mate for the last 500 years.

After I marked her,  I proceeded to talk down and judge her situation not knowing all the details. I still don’t know all the details, but I am learning as I go.

What I do know is Alsie Neferet-Sandolf is on the war path and she is not one to mess with. She is more powerful than I am, she’s a ball-buster, she does things her way or no way. She has been highly successful in what she’s accomplished so far, and she gained the attention of many Supernaturals.

At the time of my attempted poisoning Alsie and I were talking, getting to know each other, and having drinks. My drink had been spiked with the poison. I couldn’t detect it, but Alsie did, she slapped the glass out of my hand and saved my life.

After rounding up my “trusted” staff and throwing them into the dungeons, Alsie preformed the most diabolical lie-detector test I’ve ever seen. We all learned that the Elders of my Kingdom wanted me dead because they got word that I was coming to this pack to look into a newly established Council of Pack that many other packs were looking into to replace their Elder Councils. The Elders were right, that was exactly what I was doing here. Finding my mate was just an added bonus.

The Edlers know that if I decided to take on this new form of pack hierarchy, they would be out of a job considered obsolete, and some of them may even be put to death. I hate the Elders;  that’s not a secret. The Elders manipulate too many scenarios; they use their place on the council for “favors” and I’m pretty sure they are stealing from the petty cash fund. I’m not 100% sure why Alsie and her mates created the Council of Pack, but I do know that it is highly regarded amongst all Supernaturals.

Anyway, the Elders of my pack recruited a top aide to poison me, he failed, he’s dead. The rest are locked up in the cells, the remaining of my men who passed the polygraph test have proven to be loyal, but they have been stripped of their cell phones, tablets, and any other electronic devices. I need the Elders to think I am dead.

I don’t like Alsie’s plan, but it is a solid one. Sending both Dante and Osiris is a good way to cover for the mate mark. Lycans don’t have the same hangups that Weres do when it comes to sexuality. I had questions about the plan, hopefully tomorrow, Alsie will have answers.

I couldn’t help it, I gave way to Rana, feeling the overwhelming tiredness, exhaustion, and relief from my mates through the bond was too much for me to handle. I knew they were having issues with our original plan, and I had hoped that by changing the plan and scrapping the bracelet idea they would feel better. I wasn’t expecting what I felt.Rana surged forward and I let her. Maybe she had something better, but I wasn’t ready for what she proposed, and by proposed, I mean our newest course correction.I pushed off of Dante’s chest, eyes gleaming with gold silver, “No. We’re not doing it like this.”“Hello Rana.” Kane said as he moved closer to Dante and me.“Nope, not today, Kane. Sit down.” Kane did as I instructed.“Hey, Rana. It’s a good plan, it makes sense, and it provides us with a few added layers of protection. Alsie did good.” Dante commented as he tried to grab me and pull me back into his lap.“I know she did good. But it’s not enough.”“What do you mean?” Dante asked as

I walked over to Alsie and Declan, “Can I steal her away for a minute?” I ask, politely, not wanting to interrupt anything.“Of course, Dante. You don’t have to ask to have a word or anything else with our mate.”“Thanks, Dec.” I grabbed Alsie’s hand and walked her into our bedroom. Our house is designed as an open-floor plan. The bedroom and the living room are only separated by a nine-foot-long, double-sided fireplace. I knew with everyone’s heightened hearing we wouldn’t get any real privacy, but I felt better with the illusion of privacy. Even though all nine of us are mated, I still have a few hangups about showing vulnerability and emotions.“Dante, what’s going on? Are you OK?” Alsie asked me, always concerned about us, and never worrying about herself. We made our way over to our shared bed; I sat down and pulled Alsie into my lap. “Cupcake, I don’t like this plan. I know it has to happen, but I don’t like it. I really hate this bracelet. I don’t like not being able to feel yo

My name is Reilly; I am Lycan King Declan’s younger half-brother. For many years both Declan and I were under the impression that I was his son. I am also one of Alsie’s mates.Declan heard a rumor that a female Lycan bore him a child, he didn’t take much stock in the rumors until I ended up on the steps of the Royal Palace in Valoria. I was a grown man when I came to the Royal Palace. I wanted to know if the rumors were true or not. Once I spoke with Declan, we did what’s called a rapid DNA test and it came back with matching markers. From that point on Declan and I lived our lives as father and son. Since I was thought to be Declan’s son I moved into the Palace and shadowed Declan’s every move, as I was to be the next in line for the throne.Word got to Valoria about an Alpha change in a werewolf pack. Normally this kind of news was just a blip in Valoria. Lycans didn’t involve themselves in werewolf politics and pack hierarchy. However, over the course of a few weeks this particula

We decided to postpone the marking for a few days. After speaking with Sylvia my mated and I decided that we needed to lock down a few more details and see what this bracelet business is all about.Sylvia, the pack seer, showed up at the Pack Center with the bracelet.“Luna Alsie, I’d like you to try this one and get a feel for it.” Sylvia said as she handed me the bracelet. “I think it is best if all of you got used to what it will feel like not being able to connect the way you usually do.”I took the beautiful bracelet from Sylvia, and examined it, turning it repeatedly. It was made of platinum with nine colored stones embedded in it, there were some words engraved on the inside of the bracelet.-Hoc amuletum eos quos amas tutos servabit- “This charm will keep those you love safe.” I read the loosly translated latin engraving out loud in English. Sylvia smiled, “I forgot you knew latin.” “Not many know it anymore, it is a lost language. Such a shame so many beautiful languages ha

Alsie POV-Don’t get me wrong, we all knew this was what was supposed to happen. Well, the triplets, Kane, Dante and I did anyway. The triplets knew it before I did, they met Wepwawet the day before our world changed forever. Wepwawet confirmed what Alpha Kordell had started to tell them, and Wepwawet informed everybody of the fact that I would have multiple mates, or maybe that was Kane. I don’t remember.Hearing Sylvia tell us our destiny, even though most of us in the room already knew what it was, it was kind of eerie.“How do we get one of these bracelets? I’m assuming I can’t just go buy one a local jeweler.”“You are correct, Alsie. You can’t. I will travel back to Egypt and to have Isis craft a bracelet for this specific mission. I’ll be back in four days.” Anubis said as he stood up from his chair. “Wepwawet, I need you to stay until I return and continue to guide them.”“I understand, Anubis.” Wepwawet said as Anubis left our house to gather his things and head back to his h

Chapter 6-The Next Morning-The Alphas and Luna awoke the next morning, showered, dressed, ate breakfast, tended to the babies, then gathered back in the living room after the nannies reported to their morning shifts.“When are Wepwawet and Anubis arriving?” Dante asked, as he looked around the room.“They should be here any minute.” Alsie responded. “It feels weird having this meeting in this house. I didn’t want anything to taint our sanctuary. Life of leadership, I guess.”Declan sighed, “Way to make me feel like shit.”“It wasn’t directed at you, or for you. I was simply stating facts. Let’s be for real we all knew eventually this would happen. We can’t live in our bubble forever.”Andrew walked into the living room with Anubis, Wepwawet, and Sylvia the pack seer.“Hello, everyone. We summoned Sylvia to see if we could get a few answers. I hope you’re ok with that.” Anubis stated as he walked in and took a seat on one of the recliners.“Fine by me.” Alsie said in agreement.“Anyth
