I sat on the floor playing with my sons, surrounded by my mates, enjoying this small moment of peace. Knowing full well that everything in our lives, was about to change….again. Not that, that was anything new to us. If there is something we all knew about, it was adapting and pivoting quickly. However, the change coming our way was about to be one of epic proportions and one that was going to rock the werewolf and Lycan world to its foundation.
Hello, for those of you that don’t me, or are unfamiliar with my story let me introduce myself. My name is Alsie Sandolf, and I am the Luna of the Far-Side Royal Crescent Blue Moon Pack, in Washington State. Yes, I know that’s a mouthful, but our pack name expanded when my mates and I became the Alphas and Luna to a few surrounding packs that we integrated into our original pack, the Far-Side Moon Pack.
Our pack was originally the Far-Side Moon Pack, and at the time we were the largest pack in North America. Now with the addition and expansion we are the largest pack in the world, and by the end of the month we will have gained a foothold in the Lycan Kingdom.
I am 25 almost 26 years old, and I have eight mates, five sons, and one of my mates is a vampire. Yes, you read that correctly, I have eight mates: Osiris, Evander, Andrew, Benji, Kane, Dante, Declan, and Reilly.
Kane is an original vampire, created by God for his bad deeds done by him, to his brother Abel. Kane is one of my four Guardians.
Benji is the current but unofficial Alpha King of North America.
Osiris, Evander, and Andrew are the Sandolf triplets and direct descendants of Horus. I’ll explain all that a little later.
Dante is a Lycan enforcer and third in line for the Lycan King throne if anything were to happen to the current Lycan King. Dante is also one of my four Guardians.
Reilly is a Lycan and was thought to be the illegitimate son of the current Lycan King, however after further analysis of Reilly’s DNA it has been confirmed that Reilly is the half-brother to the current Lycan King.
Declan is the current Lycan King, and he’s believed to be dead as of earlier today, or that might have actually been last night, I don’t know, time eludes me lately. All I know is the attempt on his life happened within the last 24 hours.
As far as we know, nobody outside of our small circle knows that Declan and Reilly are my mates.
Origin story time, I was born here on Far-Side lands to my mom Ariel, and my dad, Beta William. I was born Alsie Neferet and for 24 ½ years I was under the impression that I was a human-werewolf hybrid and that was why I didn’t get my wolf or find my fated mate at the age of 18.
None of that was true. My mom wasn’t a human. She was a direct descendant of Nut, and she carried my dormant wolf, Rana. My mom couldn’t shift. Once my mom became pregnant with me, the 100th generation of Nut, Rana awakened. Nut is the ancient Egyptian goddess of the sky, stars, cosmos, and universe. Nut is considered the Protector of the Dead and is one of the oldest deities of the Egyptian pantheon. Nut represents the night sky and is a protector of Earth. Rana is Nut’s wolf, and the 100-generation curse was placed on Nut and her wolf by Medea, a powerful Greek witch.
My mom died when I was 9 years old. For the last 100 generations, women carrying the dormant wolf deity Rana die once their daughters reach the age of nine. Thanks Medea.
My father, as far as any of us know, was just a good old-fashioned werewolf. My father, William, was the Beta of the Far-Side Moon Pack until he was killed in battle by his lead warrior. My father died when I was 11 years old. At the time of my father’s death the consensus was that he died during a rogue attack. We found out later that his death was at the hands of a wolf named Jacob, who later became the new Beta of the pack. It took 14 years for the truth to reveal itself.
After the death of my father, I lived with Alpha Kordell and Luna Jazmine in the pack house, on their family floor. The fact that my dad was the pack Beta, I grew up with the sons of Alpha Kordell and Luna Jazmine. I’ve known and been close with the Alpha family my whole life. Moving into their quarters was a little intimidating in the beginning but we made it work.
I wasn’t bullied or anything like that, I had all my basic needs met. I was fed, housed, clothed, and I wasn’t subjected to extra chores, or anything like that. Some things did get overlooked, but I had a pretty good life in the pack house.
At the age of 18, when I didn’t get my wolf and I graduated high school, with permission from Alpha Kordell, I moved out of the pack house and into the warrior courtyard. I had my own cottage, I had a job at the pack diner, and I was training to be a cop in the human city.
It was at this time that the Alpha triplets, Osiris, Evander, and Andrew, started looking for their fated mate. After 6 ½ years they still hadn’t found her. Alpha Kordell wasn’t going to give up the Alpha position until the triplets found their fated mate or decided on a contract mate.
While the triplets scoured our pack, one of the largest in North America, for their mate. I kept my head down and continued to pursue my police officer career. I was volunteering for overtime work, task forces, anything I could do to keep my body away from the pack and my mind off the Luna situation. I was spending most of my nights at a local hotel, close to work. It made the commute much easier.
After a short time, I made detective. I was the youngest to ever do it in my station house. I met my new partner Detective Sarah Johns. We hit it off immediately. Sarah didn’t know I lived in a werewolf pack. Sarah thought I lived in some kind of family compound, off grid…or so I thought, as you’ll find out Sarah knew WAY more than she ever let on.
However, Alpha Kordell knew my biggest secret…
I couldn’t help it, I gave way to Rana, feeling the overwhelming tiredness, exhaustion, and relief from my mates through the bond was too much for me to handle. I knew they were having issues with our original plan, and I had hoped that by changing the plan and scrapping the bracelet idea they would feel better. I wasn’t expecting what I felt.Rana surged forward and I let her. Maybe she had something better, but I wasn’t ready for what she proposed, and by proposed, I mean our newest course correction.I pushed off of Dante’s chest, eyes gleaming with gold silver, “No. We’re not doing it like this.”“Hello Rana.” Kane said as he moved closer to Dante and me.“Nope, not today, Kane. Sit down.” Kane did as I instructed.“Hey, Rana. It’s a good plan, it makes sense, and it provides us with a few added layers of protection. Alsie did good.” Dante commented as he tried to grab me and pull me back into his lap.“I know she did good. But it’s not enough.”“What do you mean?” Dante asked as
I walked over to Alsie and Declan, “Can I steal her away for a minute?” I ask, politely, not wanting to interrupt anything.“Of course, Dante. You don’t have to ask to have a word or anything else with our mate.”“Thanks, Dec.” I grabbed Alsie’s hand and walked her into our bedroom. Our house is designed as an open-floor plan. The bedroom and the living room are only separated by a nine-foot-long, double-sided fireplace. I knew with everyone’s heightened hearing we wouldn’t get any real privacy, but I felt better with the illusion of privacy. Even though all nine of us are mated, I still have a few hangups about showing vulnerability and emotions.“Dante, what’s going on? Are you OK?” Alsie asked me, always concerned about us, and never worrying about herself. We made our way over to our shared bed; I sat down and pulled Alsie into my lap. “Cupcake, I don’t like this plan. I know it has to happen, but I don’t like it. I really hate this bracelet. I don’t like not being able to feel yo
My name is Reilly; I am Lycan King Declan’s younger half-brother. For many years both Declan and I were under the impression that I was his son. I am also one of Alsie’s mates.Declan heard a rumor that a female Lycan bore him a child, he didn’t take much stock in the rumors until I ended up on the steps of the Royal Palace in Valoria. I was a grown man when I came to the Royal Palace. I wanted to know if the rumors were true or not. Once I spoke with Declan, we did what’s called a rapid DNA test and it came back with matching markers. From that point on Declan and I lived our lives as father and son. Since I was thought to be Declan’s son I moved into the Palace and shadowed Declan’s every move, as I was to be the next in line for the throne.Word got to Valoria about an Alpha change in a werewolf pack. Normally this kind of news was just a blip in Valoria. Lycans didn’t involve themselves in werewolf politics and pack hierarchy. However, over the course of a few weeks this particula
We decided to postpone the marking for a few days. After speaking with Sylvia my mated and I decided that we needed to lock down a few more details and see what this bracelet business is all about.Sylvia, the pack seer, showed up at the Pack Center with the bracelet.“Luna Alsie, I’d like you to try this one and get a feel for it.” Sylvia said as she handed me the bracelet. “I think it is best if all of you got used to what it will feel like not being able to connect the way you usually do.”I took the beautiful bracelet from Sylvia, and examined it, turning it repeatedly. It was made of platinum with nine colored stones embedded in it, there were some words engraved on the inside of the bracelet.-Hoc amuletum eos quos amas tutos servabit- “This charm will keep those you love safe.” I read the loosly translated latin engraving out loud in English. Sylvia smiled, “I forgot you knew latin.” “Not many know it anymore, it is a lost language. Such a shame so many beautiful languages ha
