Emilia chuckled. “You don’t have to, I can handle it, what would the people think if they see you at the hospital? Going there is risky” Emilia said.

Lucan paused, arching one brow as he adjusted the silver cufflink on his wrist. “Are you sure about that? Because I’m not exactly lining up to hand over another sperm donation. That first one? That was pure charity, Emilia. A mercy drop.”

Emilia blinked. “A mercy drop?”

“Yes. Because deep down, you and I both know you’re not fit to be a mother,” Lucan said casually, like he was commenting on the weather. “But you insisted. Always insisting.”

Emilia’s voice rose, her control slipping. “I am your wife. It’s only right that I have your child, and whether you like it or not, you’re going to give me another sample. Or I swear, I’ll tell your mother and father everything—you won’t touch me, you won’t sleep with me, now you won’t even donate sperm?”

Lucan let out a short, humorless laugh. “You’re blackmailing me with reproductive threats now?”

“Don’t test me,” Emilia warned, eyes flashing.

Lucan smirked. “You can as well suck my cock and hope the sperm comes out—if I allow you.”

Emilia gasped, her jaw tightening. “LUCAN!”

Lucan had already turned, calling over his shoulder, “Marco, get the car ready.” Then, as he exited the room, he added casually, “Try not to scare the staff again, Emilia. We’re running out of housekeepers, they’ve all left because of your attitude, keep that stupid attitude of yours in check or you will be the next to leave”

The door slammed behind him.

Downstairs in the kitchen,Nora, the assistant, and one of the maids, Tanya, were sipping coffee and whispering like two underpaid detectives.

“I heard she slapped a nurse today,” Tanya said, wide-eyed.

“She didn’t just slap her,” Nora murmured. “She nearly knocked the girl into early retirement. You should’ve seen the handprint. It looked like Satan left a mark, her driver told me everything that happened.”

Tanya winced. “What’s she so pressed about?”

Nora gave her a sharp look and lowered her voice. “Apparently, the sperm sample got used on another woman.”

Tanya’s spoon dropped into her mug with a clink. “Whose sperm?”

“Mr Lucan’s.”

Tanya’s eyes bugged out. “Oh. My. God.”

“I know,” Nora whispered. “Some poor chick walked in for a check-up and walked out as the unknowing baby mama to a billionaire.”

“Lucky her,” Tanya said, then caught herself. “I mean—horrible. Totally tragic because, ma’am Emilia would never stop until she sees her.”

Emilia folded her arms across her chest, her gaze sharp and unblinking as she stepped into the kitchen like a general surveying a battlefield. Tanya and Nora froze mid-whisper, their eyes snapping to her.

She cleared her throat, cold and deliberate.

“Nora, be grateful you’ve been working with me for years. And as for you, Tanya, you’re sacked.”

Tanya’s face was drained of color. “Ma’am?”

Nora immediately stepped forward. “Ma’am, with all due respect—Mr. Lucan said not to fire any more workers. We’re short-staffed already.”

Emilia didn’t even blink. “I don’t care. I will fire all of them if I have to. In fact, since you have so much free time to gossip, Nora, you’ll be promoted.”

“Promoted?” Nora asked cautiously.

“Yes. From secretary to housekeeper. You’ll clean the house, scrub the toilets, and wash the plates. I hope this is enough of a promotion for your talents.”

Tanya stood frozen, her mug shaking in her hand.

Nora blinked, her voice laced with disbelief. “Promotion? From secretary to housekeeper? That’s not a promotion, that’s… a total downgrade.”

“Then maybe next time you’ll learn to keep your mouth shut,” Emilia snapped. “Get ready—we’re leaving. I need to check on the company. God knows what disaster is happening there while I’m stuck babysitting this house full of gossiping parasites.”

She turned on her heel, heels clicking sharply against the marble floor.

Nora stood there, jaw clenched, a tremor in her hands. Tanya was nearly in tears.

“This is insane,” Tanya whispered.

Nora exhaled through her nose, furious. “You think she’s crazy now? Wait till she finds out who that ‘other woman’ really is.”

Tanya looked up sharply. “You know who it is?”

Nora hesitated. “Not exactly. But I heard Dr. Jensen saying something weird on the phone the other day. Something about an ‘identity mix-up’ and the patient not even being aware of the insermination. It was just an accident. It was something done by the nurse there.”

Tanya’s brows shot up. “So Mr Lucan doesn’t know either?”

“No. But if he finds out…” Nora lowered her voice to a whisper. “Emilia’s going to be so angry, Mr Lucan doesn’t touch her and now she finally got his sperm but something happened. And someone’s carrying his child who shouldn’t be.”

Tanya bit her lip. “Do you think she’ll find the woman?”

Nora’s voice was tight. “Oh, she will. And God help her when she does.”

Meanwhile, in the car, Emilia sat with her arms folded, her jaw clenched so tight her teeth ached.

Lucan’s words still echoed in her mind.

A mercy drop.

Her stomach turned. That smug bastard. He thought she was desperate? Weak? Disposable?

She glanced at her reflection in the window, fury tightening her expression.

Fine. If he wouldn’t give her what she wanted willingly, she’d take it another way.

Even if it meant tracking down the woman who had accidentally been impregnated with what should’ve been hers.

“Driver,” she said sharply. “Take me to the company, Nora can trek, I can't waste my time waiting for her.”

“Yes, Ma’am.”

She tapped her manicured nails against the leather seat, one by one.

Let them hide the truth. Let them try to cover it.

But she would find the woman.

And when she did?

She’d rip the baby right out of her.

When she arrived at the company, Nora rushed in—she was just dropped by the cab, breathless and sweaty.

“Ma’am, you didn’t even wait for me,” Nora said, but Emilia didn’t spare her a glance. Her heels clicked with cold purpose as she walked straight into her office.

Inside, her voice sliced through the air.

“And who are these people? Didn’t I tell you not to let anyone in?” she snapped at her manager, Lana, who stood flustered at the entrance.

“They came here for a job interview,” Lana replied, her voice careful, measured.

Emilia rolled her eyes and tossed her handbag onto the couch. “Alright. Let them in now. Because I wouldn’t be in this mood the next few hours.”

“Yes, ma’am,” Lana said quickly, then turned to the waiting candidates outside. “One by one. You first,” she said, pointing at a young woman sitting with a folder clutched tightly in her hands.

The girl stood, visibly nervous, and entered the office.

She sat down opposite Emilia, knees pressed together, palms damp.

Emilia didn’t even look at the file. She tilted her head, eyes narrowing.

“What’s your name?”

“Kiara. Kiara Westley,” the girl said softly.

Emilia’s fingers, resting on the armrest, twitched.

Westley.

That name.

Her phone buzzed a second later—just a single message from Dr. Jensen.

“Still no trace of the inseminated patient. No record, these details can help you: Liora Westley. 26.”

Emilia didn’t blink. Her mind was spinning now.

Liora… Westley.

Her eyes slid to the girl across from her.

Kiara. Westley.

Or an aunt, cousin—anyone by the name Liora Westley?”Kiara’s eyes darted.“Liora?” she echoed, too quickly. “No… I haven’t heard that name. I have a brother, not a sister. I don’t know any Liora.”Emilia’s lips curved—but it wasn’t a smile. It was something colder.“Oh, that’s a shame. Because if you do know her, I’d really appreciate the help. I’m willing to offer money for it. Since you’re Westley… and she’s Westley… I feel like there has to be a link.”Kiara’s breath hitched.“I—don’t—”“Twenty million,” Emilia interrupted sharply. Her voice was like velvet soaked in poison. “Cash. Wire. However you want it.”Kiara’s mouth opened slightly, but no words came out. Her fingers clutched the edge of her folder.“I told you I don’t know her,” she said again, but there was hesitation now. The kind that Emilia could smell.“Fifty million and I am going to hire you as my personal assistant.” She s

Emilia kept pacing around the doctor’s office. “How do I even tell my husband his sperm went missing? How? And what do we do about the young lady—you ruined her life. How can you let another woman carry my husband’s sperm? You just ruined everything. Just so you know, Doctor, I paid you millions, but you couldn’t even do one thing properly!”“I am very sorry,” the doctor said, swallowing hard. “We will need your husband’s sperm again. That’s the only way out.”Emilia turned sharply. “And what pathetic nurse mixed our files? Where is she? She needs to be sacked.”The door creaked and Maria rushed in, her face pale. Emilia didn’t wait—her hand flew with precision and slapped her hard across the cheek.Maria gasped, stunned silent.“An ordinary nurse in charge of sensitive files, and you couldn’t even differentiate between me and a random nobody?” Emilia shouted, her voice breaking.“I’m so sorry, ma’am,” Maria whispered, clutching her stinging cheek. “All I know is… she came with a frie

LIORAI ran after her even though I didn’t know where she passed but all of a sudden I felt weak, so I walked slowly into the hospital where the nurses were standing.“Hey nurse,” I called out softly to the nurse. “I think I need to get checked too. I’m feeling kinda… weird.”The nurse, a thin woman in scrubs with a tired expression and a pen barely hanging onto her ear, looked up. “Name?”“Liora Westley.”She scribbled something down without asking too many questions. “Symptoms?”“Headache. Fatigue. A little dizzy.”The nurse handed me a short form on a clipboard. “Fill this out and give it back. We’ll slot you in very fast. Might be a wait though but it won’t take long.”I nodded and took a seat. My stomach growled again, louder this time, but I ignored it. I filled out the form quickly, using the edge of my knee as a desk, and returned it to the nurse. The woman took it, nodded absentmindedly, and while answering a call placed it on a stack of other documents sitting on the edge of

She didn’t even look up when I entered. Veronica finally spoke without glancing at me. “You can stand there. I’ll tell you when you can move.”My mouth tightened, but I said nothing. Speaking only made things worse. My fingers curled into fists at my sides, the faint creak of my knuckles the only sound I allowed myself. My feet ached from a long day at my part-time job, but now here I am again.Minutes turned into an h
