Chapter 40: Evan's Strange Dream

The cold wind blew throughout the snowy forest, scattering away the snow dust that once was a goddess. The snow dust then glided with the winter breeze like tiny petals of a flower, then faded away into the white void as its existence finally vanished for eternity.

A few feet away, stood Mayari with heaving breaths. The stunt she did drained all her strength that the knife in her hand clank below as it slip from her grasp.

After exhaling cloud of fog, her weak knees buckled down and she fell to the icy floor with a thud due to exhaustion, though, she was able to stay awake despite her worse condition.

She was crowned as the victor for defeating Yuvera. The Goddess' fall, is her success. However, to Mayari, she hasn't truly won yet, unless she make it out alive from the forest she is trapped in.

Meanwhile, in the deadly hold of the blood-stained branches, Evan's blood continued to drip from his open wounds as he struggled to break free and stay conscious.
