Egon's POV

I have never felt so much fear in my whole life which I feel whenever I see Emerald having flashbacks.

I dropped the knife from my hands and rushed towards her. She is struggling to breathe, it's almost like a panic attack more than a flashback.

Her mouth is painfully open, and her eyes are rolled back like she is possessed.

I carried her out in the garden where she could take a deep breath. Soon she recovered and fell numb on my chest.

I held her close like a baby.

"Are you feeling okay?"

He caressed her head.

"Maybe!"

She tried to get up after some time, I carried her towards the swing and we sat on it.

"Why did you come to the basement?"

I questioned, she wasn't supposed to see it.

She looked down like a guilty child.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to spy on you. I was just curious but then I started having flashbacks... I don't know, do you think my memory is coming back?"

I have answers to all her questions, but how do I answer her? If I tell her everything, then she won't take all the burden together. She needs to remember slowly but surely.

Now the fear is, in what pattern she will remember.  If she remembers our ugly past first, then everything will be destroyed again, and I don't know why I have a strong feeling that she will remember it first.

Even if she doesn't then will she forgive me for whatever happened?

I can't expect her to forgive me but I am selfish, I want her. The last few months felt like a death sentence when she wasn't around me. It was hell for me.

Life was never so difficult before. Now I just want everything to fall in place and I'll never let her eyes experience tears and pain.

Just this one time, damn it!

"Egon, where are you lost? You must be thinking I am a psycho."

She smiled embarrassed.

"No, sweetheart... You are just suffering from past wounds... You will be fine."

I rested her head on my chest.

"And I like my girl psycho."

I could see her blushing at my comment.

"So, am I your official girlfriend now?"

She teased.

"You were mine the moment I laid my eyes on you, are you realising it now?"

I chuckled.

She rolled her eyes.

"Don't make me remind you what you did to me?... Anyways, are you sure we haven't met before?"

"Why?"

I know why she is asking but I can't answer that.

"Because you feel familiar, this feeling and presence. The turmoil of emotions in my heart. Everything is deja vu. Even my flashbacks have your voice."

She sighed.

"It's an old trick to flirt, babe... Don't try, I am already yours!"

I laughed it off.

She slapped my cheek hard, making me hiss.

"I am going to kill you one day."

"I'll be glad to die in the hands of a beautiful lady like you."

She blushed furiously when I said that.

"You look more handsome when you smile. Why don't you smile often?"

She pecked my cheek.

"I'll do, now that you are here."

I pecked her soft lips.

A few months back, sitting with her was just a dream for me. I don't want this time to pass too quickly.

"I think you should rest now."

She nodded and I carried her to her bedroom.

I tucked her in bed, but she grabbed my wrist and pulled me beside her while covering both of us.

"Can you not leave me alone, I am scared!"

She whispered. Her eyes silently requested.

I can, but the thing is, it's hard to control when she is close to me. She has power over me, which no woman has ever had.

I nodded, and she snuggled into my chest.

I turned the lights dim and caressed hed back gently. Her face was closer to my chest, and her wet lips softly brushed against it.

It wasn't accidental. I ignored it.

Her face snuggled more into me like a cat, her nails dug gently into my arm like she was trying to give hints.

Her soft toe circled on my ankle as she looked at me with doe eyes. Fuck, this woman is my weakness.

"There is no going back once we start it. Think about it."

I caressed her cheek softly.

Her breathing was hot on my neck, our faces caressed each other like two souls getting tangled.

She grabbed my hand and guided it under her top, on her waist. Giving me all the permission she could.

She doesn't know how hard it is for me to control myself. I sucked in her sweet scent; she smells divine without any effort.

Her neck tilted giving me more access. Her soft body arched under me as I took control.

I fucking love it when she moans like a little singing bird.

I was gentle; she deserves to be worshipped. Her cheeks were pink and I kissed them.

I have never seen a beautiful woman like her, she is divine.

Her breathing quickened as I undressed her. She tried to steal the gaze shyly.

Cute!

She looked down at me as I spread her legs and kissed her pink pussy.

She tastes blissful, the most delicious thing I have ever tasted.

Her thighs clenched around my face as I dived into her. Gently stroking and caressing her with my tongue. She is so warm.

Her head rolled back when I picked from slit to clit. She trembled a bit, and I withdrew.

I don't want her to cum now.

Her delicate hands wrapped around my shoulder when I  positioned myself at her entrance.

Our eyes didn't break the contact and it sent a weird kind of spark between us.

We bartered only passion with eyes. Heart felt heavy with emotions as I slowly entered her. Her warmth quickly swallowed my length.

"I love you"

I whispered in her ears.

She smiled in tears.

"I love you too"

Our tongues tangled in a passionate kiss as I rhythmically stroked inside her.

Her legs tightened around me and her nails dug deeper into my skin as she shattered with a beautiful scream. I followed closely after and our heads rested on each other, our breaths fanning our sweaty faces.

She opened her eyes when my cold locket dropped in front of her. I had pushed it on my back so it doesn't bother us.

She looked at the locket and her eyes frowned familiarly and widened in horror when she looked into my eyes.

"Please don't hurt me!"

She started shaking.

My heart shattered.

No, this can't happen right now!

  • Ashes Between Us!   89. Survivors!

Author's POV Egon held her like a man who had been starving for years and finally had something warm in his arms again. His arms tightened around her lazy morning frame, almost too tightly, as if she might dissolve into thin air the second he loosened his grip.“To be honest,” his voice came out low, a confession dragged straight from the center of his chest, “I thought you would never accept me again.”His thumb brushed her waist in slow circles — a habit he developed long before, one that never truly died.“I still don’t feel deserving of you,” he admitted, the words cracking slightly, “even though I’m selfish enough to not let you go.”Emerald’s answer came not through words at first, but through the way she burrowed even closer, nuzzling into the warmth of him like she was trying to sink into his bones. There was no fear, no hesitation — just a quiet, hungry comfort she had missed far more than she had expected.“I was in the same dilemma,” she murmured. She tilted her head to me

  • Ashes Between Us!   88. Twisted Memories!

Author's POV Rafael had been too calm-too smug-when he asked her, "Are you ready to meet the real you?"There was something hidden behind that tone... something sharp, something calculated. Emerald should have protested. She should have pushed back. But at that moment, she was willing to walk into fire if it meant finding out who she really was.Rafael placed a naked sword on the table.A heavy, gleaming blade with a history soaked into its metal."Seen one of these before?" he asked, eyes gleaming with mischief. "Wanna touch?"Emerald's brows pulled together. She knew that question wasn't innocent. Nothing Rafael did was ever innocent. But the curiosity inside her was louder than the warning bells. She stepped forward and traced a finger along the blade-slowly, thoughtfully. She couldn't imagine the things Rafael had used this sword for.She wasn't sure she wanted to imagine."Ohh... who do we have here?"The voice behind her made her turn sharply.Another man stood there. Strikingl

  • Ashes Between Us!   87. The Love!

Author's POV The ocean was about to witness their reunion again.Egon’s lips crashed onto hers with a hunger that had been rotting in his chest for far too long. It wasn’t a kiss — it was a claim, a scream, a desperate pull of two halves that had been cut apart and finally slammed back together. Emerald clutched his shirt with trembling fingers, dragging him impossibly closer, like she wanted to pull him under her skin.He groaned into her mouth, a raw, broken sound that betrayed every night he spent missing her. His body pressed into hers as the waves curled around them, cool on their skin, nothing compared to the heat rising between them. Her hands cupped his jaw, fingers shaking as they memorised him again — the stubble, the sharp lines, the warmth that had once been her home.“Egon…” she whispered against his lips, breath trembling. He closed his eyes like her voice hurt him. “Say it again,” he murmured, forehead resting on hers. “I’ve forgotten how to breathe without it.”She di
