A Tangle Of Rogues

last update Last Updated: 2025-04-24 00:44:20

"Rogues?" I whispered as panic coiled in my stomach.

I was without a wolf now so I could not change or defend myself. Rogues were dangerous. Dangerous because once you were beaten by them, there was a huge possiblity you might not survive. They were stronger than most werewolves, more faster.

" Who sent you? What do you want?" I asked staring at them as they circled me slowly entrapping me with no way to run.

One of them snarled, baring yellowed teeth, his eyes glowing with a wild hunger. He looked more beast than man, his clothes torn and stained with old blood. The others were no better. They all had red eyes and scary looking faces.

They didn’t answer.

Instead, the tallest one stepped forward, his bare feet silent on the damp forest floor. His presence was suffocating. Power rolling off him like he was dangerous.

"Wolf Queen, don't blame us. It's your fault for getting entangled with Duncan Blackwood." He said snarling as he talked.

Duncan? Were they here becau

APRIL "Help!" The voice was low. Barely above a whisper yet I could hear it. I had been in my room when I suddenly heard it. Something stirred in me and my heart ached. Suddenly, my eyes widened as I realized who it was. Duncan. I rushed out of my room running up the stairs. It was not the full moon neither was anyone attacking. What was happening to Duncan? Without a single thought, I headed to his room. Just as I was about to reach there, Emmett appeared out of nowhere. His eyes glared wolf as he tried to stop me but I wasn't having it. I needed to go and save Duncan. "Get out of my way." I warned angrily as I stared at him. " Wolf Queen," He mocked. "You are not getting in my way this time. No one is going to save that miserable wolf." "Duncan is my mate. If you want to harm him, you're going to have to go through me first." I said gritting my teeth as I stared at him. Both of us stood glaring at each other. Emmett had his wolf already to the surface but I di

My wolf’s power came out strong once more, blasting everyone in the room. Duncan’s grandmother and Melissa fell to the ground, both of them spitting out blood. Gasps echoed around me. The guards froze, unsure of what to do. The entire room was filled with the raw energy I had released. My chest rose and fell, my hands trembling as I looked down at them. No matter what I had to protect Duncan and his title. “I said no,” I repeated, my voice deeper now, laced with my wolf’s fury. Melissa crawled back. “She… she’s not normal,” she whispered as her eyes lit up filled with fear. “Her power. That power. It's not just from a wolf.” “She’s dangerous,” Duncan’s grandmother growled, struggling to her feet, blood trailing from the corner of her mouth. “No,” I said coldly. “I am what the moon goddess made me to be. The true Wolf Queen.” A low groan came from the bed catching everyone's attention. Everyone turned. Duncan stirred, his body shifting weakly as he gasped for air. Hi

" The true love of your life is Melissa?" I asked repeating his words as tears filled my eyes. Duncan couldn't remember me so he had no idea how much I was hurting watching him defend Melissa and take care of her. Melissa smiled as if she had won. She was enjoying every second of my heartbreak. "You're nothing but a surrogate. That's what we bought you for. Or perhaps, do you have feelings for me?" Duncan asked staring at me intensely. "Did you hear that, Omega?" Melissa mocked smiling as she stood in Duncan's arms. I clenched my hand tightly into a ball trying to stop myself from telling him the truth. It wouldn't do me any good to tell him what I have already said a million times. He didn't remember me and there was nothing I could do "You're right. That's what you bought me for." I said nodding my head. "But I am your mate. You need me to keep your wolf in control. Your darling Melissa cannot do that." I said turning around to leave. ******************************

I couldn't remember anything yet there was a beautiful woman that I just couldn't get out of my mind. She was in my dreams, in my mind as if my wolf was urging me like the rest of the people to remember her. April. She was seating outside in th garden again. Lately, she moved around the house pretending not to be affected by my affection towards Melissa. Wasn't she my mate? How could she not be affected? "My love," Melissa's voice echoed in my ears as she walked in taking my attention off April. "I made you some cookies. Just the way you like it." I smiled leaning in to kiss her as she dropped them. I was madly in love with Melissa. Always had been. Her father was a loyal werewolf general that had helped me keep my grandmother and Emmett at bay. I also fell in love with Melissa after seeing how kind and understanding she was.

APRIL Life wasn't just bad for me, it was fucked up. “ Where is she? Where is that abomination?” My father called out barging into my room without notice. From a young age, I sensed something amiss in my father's eyes. Despite being his only child, his love felt like an unreachable star, always just out of grasp. I knew it was because I was not the son he had longed for. A boy to carry on our bloodline, to make him proud within the pack. In our pack, daughters like me were often seen as weak, mere afterthoughts, and I was no exception. I carried the burden of his disappointment, a constant reminder that I fell short of his dreams. The truth stung. I was just a girl in a world that valued boys. I merely caught myself reaching for a piece of clothing to cover my lower body because I was naked. I had just gotten out of the shower and I barely had time to dress up when I heard my father's voice. His gaze changed the moment he saw my body. “ You're now a real woman. Beautiful.” My fat

I stood on the stage feeling exposed, ridiculed and ashamed. Dressed in a daring blue gown that hugged my figure, the off-shoulder neckline revealing just enough to hold attention, I felt the heavy, revolting stares of the Alphas as they trailed over me. Their eyes lingered, dark with something sickening, and my stomach twisted in protest. I wanted nothing more than to turn away or throw up. But then I caught my father's silent, piercing look, a warning in his eyes that froze me in place. I knew that if I let him down now, there would be hell to pay. “ Look at them. They look delectable. Very sexy.” One of the Alphas said laughing as he walked up to us. He reached out for one of the other girls and squeezed her breast making the other Alphas laugh in response as they saw the girl's surprised expression. I could tell she was young and naive despite her beautiful body and it made me sick that my father would do this to his own people. To girls from our pack. He was the Alpha and

The Wolf King sat beside me, his presence imposing, his gaze sharp and unwavering, like a blade cutting through the silence in his home. I could feel his eyes on me, hard as stone, and it sent a chill down my spine, stirring a quiet panic within. Then, without a word, he reached behind him. My pulse quickened, my mind racing with whispers of the wild rumors I’d heard. I closed my eyes and silently took a deep breath. I needed to keep my head no matter what. He rose and moved to the table, his movements precise, commanding. When he returned, he held out a paper, his voice clipped and cold. "Sign this," Duncan said, his tone brooking no argument. My hand trembled as I reached for the paper. I couldn’t read. My father never let me learn. As a girl, he’d deemed it pointless for me to have any skills beyond keeping a home. The thought of him finding out made my skin crawl. If the Wolf King knew… Would he cast me out? I could already imagine the fury my father would be in if he had to retu

Duncan's gaze turned to mine and I could see the determination in his eyes. Melissa's eyes flicked to our joined hands. Her lips parted, but no words came out at first. She looked... lost. Like she hadn’t expected Duncan to say that especially not in front of me. "I just..." she began, her voice soft, almost breaking. "I wanted to say I’m sorry. For everything." I blinked. Sorry? DUNCAN April's wolf was the most beautiful wolf I had ever seen. Her beautiful silver fur glistened in the room and I could see everyone was as stunned as I was. Her wolf was strong and very domineering unlike any I had seen. Watching as she moved around, I stepped forward expecting her to recognize me as I held her wolf's gaze. She was my mate, after all. " Is she refusing to submit to the Wolf King?" Melissa asked, trying to cause more trouble, and April's wolf seemed to be stirred by it. Melissa's voice instantly turned the attention of April's wolf to her. Her gaze changed and I could see that something was wrong. Almost as if April was in no control of her wolf like I did. "Duncan," Melissa said as she saw April's wolf. April’s wolf let out a deep, menacing growl, her silver fur standing on end as she turned her piercing gaze toward Melissa. A fierce, untamed energy flickered in her golden eyes, something raw and dangerous that sent a chill down my spine. My heart po
