Chapter 8

When they made it to the junction, They spotted Michael not far from where they were. He was leaning his back on the car and had his phone to his ear. She brought out her phone to see if she was the one he was trying to call, and then she saw numerous missed calls and text messages from him. He would be so agitated. They walked up to him, and a smile lit up his face immediately, then it changed to a perplexed look. She couldn't blame him; it was the first time he'd seen her dressed more appropriately than her usual old-fashioned clothes.

"I'm sorry for-" she tried to apologise, but he cut her off.

"You look amazing." Micheal stared deeply at her, and her cheeks flushed.

He opened the door and motioned for her to go in. Emily shook her head as she turned to face Giselle.

"Go ahead, Em, just text me the address." She didn't want to argue about it, so she just nodded and got in the car.

There was an awkward silence throughout the twenty-five minute drive. When they arrived at Micheal's house, her jaw dropped. It was a mansion. She had always known that the Williams (Micheal's family) were rich, but now she saw that rich was an understatement; they were extremely wealthy. She was awestruck when they stepped in. She couldn't help but wonder if Chris and Micheal were the only ones living here, because she learnt that their father was a businessman and was always travelling across countries. Michael

could see people staring at them. He knew exactly what was running through their minds; they would be wondering why he chose Emily to be his date when he could get other classy girls from a well-to-do family.

Emily on the other hand was thankful that Giselle did not let her wear the faint orange gown. She had thought that she dressed to kill, but the people she was seeing here dressed to murder, she looked up at Micheal's face to see if he was embarrassed by how oldfangled she was amidst these people, but he gave her a smile and butterflies danced in her stomach, she couldn't tell if it was his smile that brought the butterflies or the nervousness.

A girl approached them as they walked to the poolside; She was nineteen, light in complexion and she had a voluptuous figure; one that turn heads, she was pulchrous; she had a black, long and wavy hair, her eyelashes were so long that they fanned her cheeks whenever she blinked and she was wearing a heavy makeover. From the way she looked; one would know that she was from a wealthy family.

"Micheal, " she called walking over to them with heavy steps. "Turning me down was hurtful, but how dare you turn me down for this piece of shit? "

Emily who had been watching people dive and swim, turned immediately her ear caught the girl's words.

"Racheal? That's-" Micheal attempted to talk but Emily placed a hand on his chest.

"Wait! Micheal, Do you perceive such pungent stench? " She wrinkled her nose. "Girl, you smell like you were used to wipe the ass of a chimpanzee. " She fanned her nose, Micheal tried not to laugh as Racheal's cheek was burning out of embarrassment. He liked her confidence and was amused by the fact that she wasn't intimidated, even if she knew that the girl was of a higher class, she still didn't let her humiliate her.

Racheal had always been the type that looked down her nose at people, she had never been insulted by anyone in her life and the fact that she was being insulted by a nobody made her get up on her ears.

Micheal furrowed when he noticed Racheal's eyes; It had changed from its usual black to a sky blue, he looked down at her hands and her fingernails were now claws, her face became hairy, her fangs were protruding and there was a large line of thick hair, from her shoulders to her wrists. Emily quickly ran to Micheal's back and peeped, she was terrified, Micheal ran towards her and grabbed her by the arm, dragging her inside. Emily looked around and nobody flinched, she was puzzled.

"Racheal, what were you thinking? " Micheal said, locking the door behind them.

"I couldn't control it. How could you bring her to a place filled with werewolves when there'll be a full moon tonight? " She said, as she slowly transitioned back to human.

"Full moon tonight? You're a pureblooded werewolf, you should be able to control the shift. And what do you mean by 'a place filled with werewolves'? "

"I invited my pack and they invited their friends too. " She sat down on the bed and stared at Micheal.

He thought of Emily; she wasn't safe there because all the people in the party were werewolves, he was the reason why she was there and if anything happen to her, he would be the one to be blamed. Then he thought of Chris, who had no idea what he was, his transformation had been delayed and now that he had turned eighteen, if he transforms in rage he could go wild and loose his humane.

He had seen how some werewolves become cruel and fed on humans; he didn't want that for his brother.

Now who do he go to now? His brother or Emily?

An idea struck his mind; he would lock Emily up in one of the guest rooms and hurry to his brother, and then return to Emily when his brother's transformation was successfully completed. That was like killing two stones with one bird, (oops... My bad) killing two birds with one stone.

He brought out his phone and texted Emily to meet him upstairs, in the first room on the left.

"Please, help me keep an eye Emily, She'll be heading to the first room on the right, upstairs, you can lock her up there, or... I don't know, Anything. but, Please be nice. " Racheal stared at Micheal with a confused expression before she nodded. He hurried out of the room to look for Chris.

Emily had gone to sit on an Empty chair by the poolside, her phone vibrated and she checked it, she saw a message from Micheal.

She scoffed when she read it. "So he's expecting me to meet him alone in a room. He sure is dreaming. " She said to herself and tucked her phone back into her pockets.

"Have you seen Chris? " He asked the third person but none of them happened to see him. He decided to check his room.

He flung the door open and saw Chris making out with a girl who use to live in the same neighborhood with them. He rolled his eyes. He remembered the time when Chris would stay up in his room and cry all day because Elsa broke his heart.

He walked up to them and drag Chris out of the room.

"What the hell Mike? I thought the night was suppose to be about me? " Chris said, straighting his ruffled clothes on his body.

"We need to talk. " Micheal said, heading to another room.

Chris followed him curious. When they reached the room Micheal closed the door and sat on the bed, Chris sat on the couch that was opposite the bed, curiosity was written all over his face.

"Chris, there's something you should know. " Micheal breathed. "We're cursed. " He looked up at Chris who frowned and straighten his ear to catch every word that was about to come out of Micheal's mouth.

"What do you mean? " Chris asked.

"We're werewolves. Your transformation should have taken place immediately you turned thirteen, but it was delayed and now the transformation will be complicated. " Micheal tried to say it in a way that Chris wouldn't freak out. He watched Chris closely and frowned when Chris's laughter filled the room.

"Nice joke, " he said after the laughter had reduced. "I can't believe the movies you watch got inside your head, besides, Werewolves don't exist, especially among black people. "

"I'm serious Chris, no born werewolf has crossed eighteen without being transformed, so there's every possibility that today... You'll be transformed. " Micheal said.

"What? And why haven't anyone told me this? What if I say I'm not ready for any transformation? " He started fuming.

"There's more and for me to tell you, you have to stay calm. "

"Stay calm? " Chris asked "If mom was also a werewolf, then how did she die? Was it really a car accident? " He stood up from the chair he was seated on. "I'm not going to stay calm if you don't- Ow. " He fell to the ground as he felt his bones twist painfully.
