ADELIA
At the corner behind the big column at the very leftmost side of the Hall and away from everyone's eyes... That was where I was.
I blinked once and looked in the direction where Lewis was. True enough, he was walking towards me.
The entire fell into deafening silence, and each and every werewolf watched Lewis, curious as to what he would do.
'I know that he marked me... but why is he coming towards me right now... in this place?' I mentally panicked. Each step that Lewis made was like a thunder inside my chest... and my whole body was petrified.
Out of habit, I grabbed the hem of my shirt and pulled down to straighten it out. Unfortunately, I pulled a little bit too much and a noticeable tear appeared on the fabric.
'Shoot!' I wanted to curse at myself. I wanted to run away from that place. Unfortunately, I had no time as Lewis arrived in front of me.
"Ah..." I could not help but exclaim before placing my hand on the tear of my shirt to hide it. "He-hello," I unintelligently said. Around us, I heard the werewolves gasping in surprise.
"What are you doing here?" Lewis asked, the tone of his voice did not reveal a hint of his thoughts.
His question immediately resulted in varying reactions from the crowd, with most of them sniggering towards me. Some even directly moved their eyes away from me as if their stomach could not handle my sight. They were clearly disgusted at me, and were thinking that Lewis was questioning my right to be inside of the hall. I could not help but fidget and lower down my head.
"Erm... I am waiting... to greet the prince..." I softly stuttered.
"This is not your place," Lewis replied, making me steal a glance at his expression.
'Am I embarrassing him?' I thought as I once again avoided his glance. 'Too bad... I can't see what he is thinking.'
Seconds passed and I stayed quiet, not knowing how to answer Lewis. Awkwardness filled my body as I felt painful stares directed towards me.
Suddenly, I felt a slight dizziness and the next thing that I knew, I was already lifted in the air with strong arms wrapped around my body.
"Ah?!" I could not help but exclaim. I wrapped my arms around my chest in an attempt to protect my body from potential harm.
"Your expression was so colorful earlier that I did not notice your condition," I heard Lewis say which made me look into his face. Lewis was intently staring back at me. His earlier expressionless eyes exhibited seriousness.
"Next time, you should wrap your arms around my neck instead of wrapping it around your body," he commented. Slowly, I realized that he was carrying me, bridal style.
I felt my face and ears burn.
"..... ah," I could only utter as I felt my body start to tremble. I lowered my head and covered my face with my hands.
"Plea-please... please put me down," I softly stuttered. Around us, the crowd started to madly whisper.
"Hmm?" Lewis asked as if he did not hear me.
"Ple--please... put me down," I helplessly repeated, hoping that Lewis would let me go.
I felt Lewis' hand gently rubbing my shoulder as if he was giving me comfort. However, contrary to his gentle action, he firmly said, "No."
"I will carry you," he even added with finality.
I did not know how to react. Thus, I merely stopped moving and pretended that I did not exist.
"Moon Goddess! I thought there was definitely a mistake in the report!" Suddenly, I heard a loud voice say. "I can't believe it and even ran towards here to check its authenticity!" I heard the voice once again. But this time, it sounded close to us. I felt Lewis stopped walking.
Curiosity immediately filled my mind and I could not help but steal a glance on the newly-arrived figure.
He was a tall man with platinum hair. The pupils of his eyes were violet, and he had a big grin on his face.
If Lewis was the dark beauty, this man was dazzlingly beautiful. I subconsciously squinted my eyes to protect them from his brightness.
He was someone that I have never seen before - whether in real life or in my vision.
"Oh, come in. Don't look at me like that. I just wanted to see with my own eyes whether you really met someone," the man said in a teasing tone.
"I'm greeting the prince," Lewis said. There was not an ounce of respect in the tone of his voice. In fact, there was even a trace of disdain on his voice.
My eyes could not help but widened towards the man. 'So, this is the prince,' I thought as I stared at him.
In my visions, the prince was killed even before I started realizing my powers so I had no chance to meet him. I blinked as I closely examined the prince's unfamiliar and unique face.
"I see. Seems like you found someone interesting," Suddenly, the prince chuckled. It was only then that I realized that I did not greet the prince... and that I was rudely staring at him.
My eyes widened more before I hurriedly lowered my head towards him. "I-I'm greeting the prince!" I loudly exclaimed and the prince laughed even more loudly.
"Move already if you're done," Lewis bluntly interjected, shocking everyone in the hall.
No one could disrespect the royalty - that was the main rule of the werewolves. Apparently, however, that rule did not apply to Lewis.
The prince chuckled once more and to everyone's astonishment, he really took three steps to the side to let us pass. He even put his hands up in the air as if he was surrendering.
Despite this, Lewis did not have a change in his expression and walked straight out of the hall... as if the prince, and the crowd were merely air.
ADELIACold breeze blew on my face the moment we stepped out of the Hall, making my shocked mind slightly calm down. Inside my chest, my heart was still pounding so hard and the tips of my ears felt so warm.On the other hand, Lewis was walking as if he was walking in a park.‘He’s so calm,’ I thought as I peeked at Lewis’ face. His broad shoulders were so relaxed as he walked casually. He did not look like someone who just “picked up” a woman in the middle of a crowd while ignoring everyone, including the prince of the werewolves.‘Come on, Lia. Stop being embarrassed…’ I tried to convince myself. ‘Look at Lewis… there is nothing to be embarrassed of…’I closed my eyes and took a deep breath to compose myself. However, the moment my sight darkened, I immediately became painfully aware of the strong ar
ADELIAWhat I saw was an unfamiliar place when I opened my eyes. The tall ceiling that greeted my sight was very sleek and elegant. Yet, I failed to notice it, as my eyes were focused on the insignia that was masterfully engraved in the middle of the ceiling. An image of the full moon... with a powerful looking sword silently placed beside it. It was composed of simple symbols. Yet, the power that emanated from it was beyond comparison with the others.Just one look in the insignia already made my heart turn faster with excitement and my eyes turn wide with amazement. It was an insignia that had disappeared for the past couple of centuries.Talascar, the protector of the Moon.In my visions, it was not until a few years later when this hidden insignia reappeared in the world. But now, I had the honor of closely seeing it. I was completely mesmerized."Do you recogniz
ADELIALewis' unexpected action startled me. Yet, I did not stop him - at least that was what I tried to do. I trusted him, and I knew that he would not do anything that would bring me harm. However, I could not stay still when I felt something very cold dampened my skin."Wha-!" I loudly exclaimed as I tried to unsuccessfully retrieve my leg."Be good, it will be over soon," Lewis softly said as he held my leg in place. I repeatedly blinked as I saw him putting frozen gel over the wounds on my leg. The cold gel immediately penetrated my broken skin, immediately mending it, but in the process sent icy chills on my bone.I had always been very weak to cold. I closed my eyes and took sharp breaths every time I felt the biting coldness that seeped through my inner body.Thankfully, after a few minutes, he was done with his treatment.Lewis thoughtfully looked at my legs and gen
LEWISIt was pitched black, and silence would have completely enveloped the place if not for the water dropping at the nearby stalactites."There's nothing in here," the figure beside me said. His voice that echoed inside seemed to disturb the tranquility of the cave. I could not help but furrow my brows.'It would have been better if I went here alone,' I thought before walking away from the noisy person."Hey! Wait for me!" Halen, the prince of the werewolf, immediately exclaimed. "You know you can't leave me in here!" He chuckled as he jogged behind me.“Is that a dare, your highness?” I asked him in a nonchalant voice. The prince of the werewolf who was greatly feared by everyone put up an exaggerated surprise face as if he was shocked to his senses. His face looked very comical... like a comedic cartoon character.I ignored him and continued to walk towards a smal
LEWIS'He-hello?' She quietly said. The tone of her voice was filled with uncertainty, and in our connection, I could feel the various emotions that she was feeling in her heart. She was feeling troubled and nervous. But aside from that, she was excited and was looking forward to hearing my voice.I blinked once as I realized what was going on. Adelia did not know how to mind link and thus she unintentionally spilled all her thoughts and emotions to me.'And here I was just wondering whether she was only pretending to be expressive. It really turns out that her colorful expressions are real... and her face merely shows what she thinks and feels inside,' I closed my eyes in contemplation. One could use their words and actions to deceive another. This was possible, as anyone could easily control the words that they could say and the actions that they would do.But that was not the c
ADELIA"Did you finish talking to him?" I heard a beautiful voice and looked up to see that the beautiful lady was still standing in front of me. The only difference was that her sparkling eyes were twinkling even more."Ah... yes..." I told her. Even though she was a bit intrusive, I did not feel uncomfortable towards her. On the contrary, she was making me feel relaxed and at ease. And add to the fact that an enemy would never be able to enter Lewis' house, I was sure that the friendly lady was not someone dangerous. Thus, I smiled at her and shyly added, "He invited me for breakfast."The lady stared at me without any reaction for a few seconds before I saw her hands reaching towards my face. Then, I felt her fingers gently pinching my cheeks before she said, "Where did Alpha Lewis find you? Do you have a brother or a sister? If you have, please tell me where I could find them so I can bring
ADELIAHis warm and rough palm enveloped my small hand, and my heart skipped a beat."Let's eat some breakfast?" Lewis asked with an affectionate tone before he gently pulled me towards the table. I obediently followed him. But deep inside, my mind was filled with a single thought that keeps on repeating in my brain.'He... is holding my hand...''He is gently holding my hand... we look like a real couple...''Goddess...''No. I need to calm down. Lewis is only casually holding my hand before I stood there like an idiot and won't come to the table,' I thought. 'He's not holding it like a lover. See? This is just a normal gesture. I shouldn't be ahead of myself,' I convinced myself.Although Lewis already marked me, it was clear to me that we only had a contractual relationship. He would protect me and help me achieve my goal while I would be giving him the information about
LEWISFor the past centuries, there were countless rumors surrounding the Pack of Talascar. Many werewolves were saying that my pack was the strongest pack in the whole world. Others talked about how secured our territory was and that the security here was even better than that of the royal palace. These rumors are correct.Indeed, the territory of the Pack of Talascar is the most secured place in all the realm and for the past century, no one has breached this security yet.‘Until today,’ I thought. My brows could not help but to furrow as I sensed the intruder who was moving fast towards our direction. And in just a few seconds, he finally arrived at the garden.Lia, who already sensed that someone was approaching us, had her eyes widened upon seeing the intruder’s figure.I stayed still on my chair, waiting for how Lia would react upon seeing
