The room was silent and only the sound of Nyra’s breathing broke the silence.

She lay on the bed without moving and her face had lost its color.

Her eyes stayed closed and the healer placed another cloth on her forehead before stepping back.

Cassian stood beside the bed, he had not moved for hours and his eyes never left Nyra.

One of the guards entered quietly.

“My Alpha.”

Cassian did not look away.

“What is it?”

“The council wishes to speak with you.”

“No.”
