The lights were off when Dave arrived at the location provided by Pamela. Jane was so wasted that she could barely walk on her own. Dave carried her to the car in the company of Leslie, she drank so much because it was her bachelorette party and the wedding was tomorrow.

She was no more than excited. Finally, the wait was finally coming to an end and they could start up a new chapter in their lives. Dave drove the car into the parking, with Leslie following right behind him as he carried Jane to her apartment. She lived in a newly built neighborhood with fancy buildings, it could be considered a place for the rich yet isolated from the public eye.

This was because he had been away from the limelight for 2 years and was not planning on going back. She lived in a 3-bedroom house with beautiful architecture and decor. Leslie has been to this building multiple times but every time she walks in she is reminded of how downgraded she is, she is reminded of how much work she still has to put in as a model to reach the stage at which Jane quit. It angered me even more when she is referred to as a D-list model by others.

Dave drops her on the bed, he doesnt make her sleep in a comfortable position which makes her groan lightly in discomfort. Leslie embraces Dave from the back more passionately than she should. Dave tries cautioning her but she insists on sending her hands even further exploring underneath his shirt.

“What fine skin” she complements his body, raining kisses around his neck.

“You talk like you're new to it” he smirks picking her off her feet and tossing her to the bed gently. He attempts to walk away but is pulled back by Leslie who kisses him passionately.

“LES”

“SHHHHH” she seals his lips yet with another kiss.

“She may wake up,” Dave says, trying to detangle from her grip but Leslie had other thoughts in mind.  She has always been second best and was not going to let anything take away the only person which she has gotten as first.

This was more of a consolation prize. She hated everything about Jane, even the air she breathed irritated her guts. The moment becomes even more heated with the couple kissing each other more like there is no tomorrow, and pieces of their clothes fall to the ground one after the other.

The temperature in the room gradually increased making it hot and unbearable for Jane to sleep properly. Her body ached from the terrible position and not only that but the sneaking sound generated by the couple was making it even worst.

She opens her eyes, slowly, everywhere was blurry, she felt not so good and desperately craved a fresh bath at that moment. She felt as if something was not right and her body just refuse to react to what her brain was trying to transmit. It felt like two people were making out right before her but she blamed it on the drinks.

She opens her eyes wider this time around expecting no one to be with her or to say the least her fiancee. However, it was far worst than what she thought at first, the scene before her brought her back to her senses, with an excruciating headache.

The figures were no longer blurry, she could clearly see her fiancee deeply immense with her best friend. The pain was new to her, like her heart being pulled out before her eyes. She continued to look at the two in shock as they went about their business, she dared not move an inch. Her body gave up on her as she lay motionless on the bed with her eyes widely open.

“We shouldn’t be doing this here, Jane just fell asleep” Dave warned but Leslie was too bold and determined to stop.

“What’s wrong? Are you now saying no to me because you will marry her tomorrow?” Leslie responded annoyed.

“You will be all hers for a lifetime, why can’t I have you tonight?” Dave knew best than argue with Leslie, she will and has always had her way with him. He felt bad they had to be doing it right before her, he did not love her however, the idea of them making out just as she slept right there did not sit right with him.

“How about we take the guest room? Come on babe” he smiles at her seductively leading her to the guest room.

Leslie sighs in defeat as she silently follows Dave out. She closes the door after her, after shooting Jane a last glance. Her eyes said all, the hatred was more visible. Jane sprang up to her feets the moment the room became silent. Her apartment was soundproof, making it hard to hear them from the next room.

Jane tried so much to hold her tears but she could feel her face getting even wetter by the second. This was not what she expected. This was the height of betrayal, the man she was to say “I DO” to was cheating with her best friend right before her with no sense of remorse whatsoever.

The hate in Leslie’s eyes as she closed the door, did not go unnoticed. Jane stays in the same position in fear they may come back. The door soon opens, and Leslie walks up to jane with a smirk. She sits by her side and slowly whispers into her ears.

“It is just an engagement, so get comfortable with it” jane could not make out the meaning of her words. Dave calls out for Leslie from outside.

“Just making sure she is comfortable, you wouldn’t want a limping bride would you?” Dave chuckles at her joke, she stands up but leans back.

“Your marriage to him has always been a dream come true to you and I will make sure it forever remains nothing but a  dream” she walks out leaving with dave, Jane wakes up and looks over from her balcony as they drove away into the galaxy-like streets.

2 years ago, she was the top model, she was the most searched model not only in the country but also in France. For a home model to be chosen for the Paris fashion was a great fortune, the climax of her career and she had to leave everything for the man she loved.

Now it all felt like a horrible nightmare; she could only pray inwardly to wake up from it. She was to get married to next day but her fiancee will rather leave with his mistress. She stayed up most of the night trying to figure out the best way out.

It was dawn and just as planned, jane was even more determined to carry ahead with the marriage. She drove to the civil affairs office, she wore a white shoulder knee-length lace gown, very little jewelry, and light makeup.

She arrives just in time, she steps out of the car but is unable to locate Dave’s car among the tons of cars parked before the courtyard. She retrieves her phone from the vehicle and placed a call to him. The phone rang for some time before it was eventually answered. The cold voice dave came through

“Leslie is not feeling fine. She injured her leg why dont you book another date?” his cold tune made jane even firmer with her decision. “There was no other day,” she tells herself. Jane flips her car keys ready to leave, but the conversation of a man elegantly dressed close to her caught her attention.

His presence felt like that of a medieval king, charming, stern, cold, and aloof. His attire was no cheap suit. A dark British suit with a dark rose tie. Looking down jane took a quick glance at his height and just like her he had a pair of beautiful straight long legs, just his was rather manly and firm in those nicely polished dark leather shoes.

He was wearing sunglasses, she walked closer to him and just as she suspected, he was the CEO of Brights Entertainment Damon Miles. She had met him once but wasn’t sure if he still remembered her.  “Was he also getting married today?” she asked particularly no one. Her thoughts are distracted by the arrival of his secretary.

“President, miss Grey has not arrived” the assistant behind him reported. Damon miles shook his head in disappointment,

“If she can’t make it on time for the marriage, I doubt she will make it in time as my wife” his voice was cold and firm. “No need to come” his assistant panicked as they were working on a condition. He had to get married bride or no bride.

“President, the old man said, you must marry today, even if it has to be nobody” this statement alone made Damon weak. He hearted the fact his life was been dictated at the moment by the old man. Not to mention he hates being powerless.

“Pick a random girl from a reputed family, anyone is okay,” Damon miles ordered. This gave Jane an idea. So he was faced with the same situation as her, Jane smiled. She knew it wasn’t going to be easy, and it was a rather bold step from her end. This was not just any regular man but the king of bright.

He could get whosoever he wanted, but she felt the need to walk up to him.

“I will be your bride”
