We were starting to enjoy the party when the center stage was suddenly lightened up. The host took the microphone and started the show. He first presented the birthday celebrant, then the parents of Szane. I don’t know what else he was talking about but it seems to me that the party wasn’t all about the birthday celebrant but also the announcement of how their family businesses were going.
“Raylie, your Mom asked me to bring you to their table.” Loki said. He just came from somewhere after taking a call.
“They were here?” Raylie asked, confused.
“You didn’t know?” He threw his head back then turned to me.
I don’t know what to say. Raylie took my hand and pulled me to stand up.
