I have always thought my fate will be different from others since I am the only daughter of my parents, but I was wrong, I was just their only chance to success and nothing more. I watch as the greasy looking men lust over my body and yelled within myself, it's going to be hell from now on. I tried to hold back the tears that are threatening to roll down my cheeks. I have had a thorough life from birth and growing up has been a disaster with my family having less or no care about me. I am just a tool to their future success. In my hometown a female has no right, no usefulness, they are just a means of getting funds to support the men. On this day it was my 18th birthday and it marked the end of my freedom and beginning of my suffering, my parents had already negotiated with merchants and wanted to sell me to raise my brothers. I was dressed in my best clothes even though to others it was just a faded clothes or less a rag. My father dragged me while telling me to behave to my new owner, I tried begging my father but it fell on deaf ears as I was just raised to be sold to ensure my brother's life and future, I was being thrown to the merchant and dragged to an underground casino. “Wow such a beauty you brought this time I’ll make sure to buy her” some men start whispering as I was dragged in by the merchant. “I will bid 50,000 DKK” Said a burly looking man. “That's to low for her, i will bid 300,000 DKK" I watched as they bid on me like a she-goat and I couldn't stop my tears from falling. I have always loved my family and even though all they do is maltreat and bully me, I always thought that they will love me one day but now it seems it was never going to happen. “2million DKK” I have been watching them bid without reaction but I could not help but gasp 'That is so much for a slave’ my heart starts raising in fear what is he gonna do with me. “Any higher bidder? Going for 2million DKK, one…” the bidder was confident that nobody could bid higher than him, so he sent his assistant out to come take me. “Going two….." “Going three…..” “1billion DKK” suddenly a man said. I was stunned, I was surprised about the earlier bid, but now I am dumbfounded and perplexed. I could not see the man's face as he was sitting at the dark corner of the casino. He blended with the darkness and it felt like he was created from it. I was consumed by great fear and also my curiosity was piqued 'Who is this strange man'. “Any higher bidder” “Are we mad, why would we waste our money? She is not that extraordinary, let him have her” screamed the men. “Going one…" “Going two…” “Going three…. Since there is no higher bidder she is sold” the boss announced ‘Just like that I now belong to someone like a dog’. A man approached the boss and after a few words exchange and the payment was done I was handed over to him. “Come with me,” he said to me. “Are you the one who bought me?” I asked cautiously. “No, you will meet him soon” He took me to the underground packing lot where a man was leaning on a luxurious car, I did not know about cars but I could tell it was expensive 'what was I expecting from a man who was willing to buy a slave for 1billion. “Lord Logan, this is the lady you bought” said the man who seemed to be his assistant. So the name of my owner is Logan, the name sounds familiar like I have heard it from somewhere before. “Hmm” The man who bought me replied scrutinizing me with his deep dark gaze. I dared not lift my head to look at the man in front of me; he was exuding a chilling aura that could freeze someone on the spot. “What's your name?” He asked after assessing me, his voice was so deep and hoarse one could tell he rarely spoke but it commanded respect. I didn't reply him but stilled my gaze to the floor instead. “Look up,” He commanded. His voice was so cold that it made me shiver so I looked up scared. I really want to spit into his well sculpted face but I was scared to face consequences. Nobody would want to keep a disobedient slave, not even the one that was so expensive, I did not want to be resold or tortured. I looked up as I was ordered but did not meet his eyes cause I was mad, mad at my self for believing my family ever loved me, mad at my family for being so heartless 'I felt betrayed', and mad at this man who now thinks he owns me. “Look into my eyes” he said again and I unwillingly met his gaze, as I look into his dark eyes I couldn't retrieve my eyes. I was locked into his eyes. His eyes are so deep and unfathomable like an ocean that is going to swallow me whole.Aurora’s POV I stepped out of the kitchen and immediately slowed down when I saw Marissa. She was sitting confidently on the sofa. Did she appear from the space? If I hadn’t seen her before, I would have thought it was a ghost. There was no sound of her arrival, just her presence suddenly filling the room like she had always been there. This was the first time I was seeing her and Logan in the same space, and it didn’t take long to notice something was wrong. Logan wasn’t welcoming her, not even trying to pretend. His posture was controlled, but there was tension in it, he clearly didn’t want to show too much of his... should I call it hatred? Diva was completely gone. Just minutes ago she was in this same house, acting like she belonged, like she owned the place next to him, and now she had vanished so cleanly it almost felt intentional. That alone told me everything I needed to
Aurora’s POV I didn’t move from the door. It was easier pretending the wood between us meant something than admitting it didn’t. I told myself I stayed because I wanted to. Because I chose not to run again. But the truth was messier than that. Running didn’t feel like freedom anymore. It felt like repeating the same mistake in different places, different rooms, same fear following me anyway. So I stayed still and called it control. Nothing about me felt like it used to. I could still remember who I was before all this, but it felt distant now, like trying to hold onto a version of myself that didn’t survive whatever this was becoming. That girl would have walked out already. She would have said something sharp, something final. I didn’t know how to be her anymore. A knock came. “I know you’re in there,” his voice came through the door, I know the knock was just to confirm maybe I am still w
Aurora’s POV) I didn’t know how much longer I could take this. Every time Diva opened her mouth, poison spilled out. Every time Logan spoke, it was a blade and it always cut me. The first argument started small. Something about me not joining breakfast. “She needs to be more social,” Diva said, her voice soft feigning concern. “She’s new here,” Logan replied, his tone calm, but his words felt like a verdict. “Maybe you’re right, Diva. She should make more effort.” My blood boiled. “Are you serious?” I snapped. “You know why I didn’t come down” “That’s enough, Aurora.” His voice was like a steel door slamming shut. “Don’t start.” And just like that, the conversation ended with me choking on anger, and Diva smiling like a cat with cream on her whiskers. The next fight was worse. “She ignored me again today,” Diva said one evening, her hand resting so casually on Logan’s arm that I wanted to rip it off. I wish she was gone because she was getting on my nerves, wasn't it a
Aurora’s POV The first day she moved in, I told myself I could handle it. That I could stay calm, act mature, ignore her games. But Diva wasn’t just a storm, she was a hurricane dressed in silk, tearing apart every piece of peace I had left in this gilded cage. It started small. Smiles that didn’t touch her eyes, compliments that stung like poison. “Oh, Aurora,” she’d say sweetly whenever Logan was around, her voice dripping with honey. “You’re so… simple. It’s refreshing, really.” Simple. Refreshing. Like a cheap glass of water next to her expensive wine. Logan never reacted, never corrected her. His expression gave nothing away. And that silence? It burned worse than her words. But when he left the house, her mask slipped. “You’re really not his type, you know,” she said one morning, blocking the doorway to the dining room like a queen guarding her throne. “You should stay in your room. No need to embarrass yourself at breakfast.” I clenched my fists so hard my nails du
Aurora's povThe ride back was silent. Logan’s hand rested casually on the wheel, his other hand draped across his thigh, stained with blood that wasn’t his. I sat stiffly beside him, my heart pounding like a war drum.I wanted to scream at him. To ask him why. Why had he killed so easily? Why was
Aurora's povI had no sense of time in that place. The light above flickered endlessly, casting the same distorted shadows until I couldn’t tell day from night. My body ached from sitting in the same position, my wrists raw and bleeding from the ropes that held me.And the silence was the worst. Ev
Aurora's povI thought I had hit him right not until he twisted my hands and pinned me to the wall, the stick fell of my hand as I saw tiny drops of blood drip from his head. “Really? Just a little kindness and you're already gonna betray me? You just confirmed it that humans doesn't deserve mercy
Aurora's pov The mansion was eerily quiet after the bloodbath. My brother’s body had been taken away by Logan’s men, erased as though he had never existed. But the metallic stench of his blood still clung to the marble floors and my memory, an ugly scar that refused to fade. I didn’t leave my roo
