05: First Day

"You look like you just regret everything."

I closed my eyes harshly and leaned against the headboard of my bead. Yes, I really do. I regret my decision and I did not like what I did lately. I am too coward to refuse Kiel Alexandro Ramirez. And besides, work is work. There is no bias there.

"Hey, Miss. You are now fired." I looked at Ramirez's former secretary. Disbelief and surprise then crept her eyes.

"W-What?"

"I said, you are now fired." I showed her that I am too brave to tell her this. That I am not nervous at all. That I am desperate to have my work and fire the shit out of her.

"B-But..."

"I am the new secretary," I cut her off with a smile on my lips. She almost stepped backward in horror. "You are done. Come and find a new job."

I could feel Zed's stares at me so I opened my eyes and looked at him. I just remembered what I did as Ramirez's told me to fire her. I did regret, however, this feeling will never lead me to something great.

"What?" Zed raised her brows at me. I heaved a deep sigh and looked down at my hands. I am a bit shaking. I don't know! I am still nervous as freaking hell! It has been hours since I left the company, yet, I did not know how to calm myself down.

"You think I am bad now?" I let that word unconsciously. I heard her sarcastic laugh, making my cheeks heat up in shame and realization. I should keep in mind that I am already this since day one.

"You have been pretending like an angel, Talia," he uttered. "What you did lately, it's just fine. That woman didn't work to serve Kiel Ramirez, though."

My brows creased and tilted my head towards him afterward. "Huh? What do you mean?"

He shrugged his shoulders, crossing his arms over his chest. He is currently leaning his back against the door of my room. Yes, he visited me here. This is my first night in his unit. "She just wants to flirt with Kiel."

"And?"

"No biggie. It was just her twat getting hungry of Kiel."

"What the hell, Zed?"

He laughed. "What? I am stating the fact."

"How did you know that, then?"

"Come on, Talia. She is one of the talking bitch in the company. I wonder why aren't you updated about that CEO?"

I rolled my eyes. "I just didn't hear anything from them. You didn't also tell me that."

"Alright. Sorry."

"I should rest now," I sighed. "Tomorrow will be my first day. Bid me my good luck, friend."

"Good luck," he winked and smiled. "You can do well. Sleep now. Good night."

I just watched him get out of my room. I turned the lights off and covered myself with my comforter. I struggled to sleep that night because I was thinking about my work with the CEO, good thing I was able to sleep even just enough hours.

After taking breakfast together, Zed drove me to the company. He has to go somewhere today, but he promised to fetch me. There is no need, tho. I can handle myself. But up to him.

As I went inside the company, the guard greeted me with a warm smile. I smiled back at him. I felt awkward because most of the staffs' eyes automatically darted to me as I stepped inside. I cannot read their expression. There is a face of hatred and some were happy. Why are they staring at me?

"Hi, Miss Talia!" An employee greeted me with a jolly wave. I smiled at her.

"H-Hi?"

"Oh, my, god! Hi! Hi! Hi! I am Dani! I am good! I can be your friend!"

I smiled. That's sweet of her. "Sure, Dani."

She went with me to the elevator. I asked where floor she belongs to, and yes, she is the receptionist to the floor where the CEO is. That ground just belongs to that one Kiel Alexandro Ramirez. Some employees just go there when there is an important matter.

"I like you more, Talia. Mister Ramirez's former secretary is not good!" Dani said while we were inside the elevator. Even if some of the employees were glancing at our area, that did not stop her to talk about the former secretary. "She just flirts! Ha! She deserved to get fired!"

I laughed awkwardly. This is so awkward. I don't want to talk about that girl because I somehow felt pity as she loses her job. Even though she just flirts, I can't stop my guilt. When you are a bitch but you feel like this. Tsk.

As the elevator stopped on the last floor, we both went out. "Good luck, Miss Talia! I know you can do it! You can do very well! You were here for genuine work and not to genuinely flirt! You are the best person I know! Good luck! Let's have lunch together later!"

I laughed as she went to the reception, waving her hands at me. She is so jolly and a sweet person. She is nice to be with. One of a kind friend. It is nice to meet a person like her.

I went towards the door of the office that belongs to CEO Kiel Ramirez. I heaved a deep sigh first, trying to gather all my strength to knock on the door. I am nervous!

Inhale, exhale. I closed my eyes and actioned the knock, but it turned out that I knocked into nothingness. I opened my eyes in surprise and jumped in shock when Mister Kiel Alexandro Ramirez greeted my view. He was the one who opened the door!

"What are you doing?" he asked with a creased brow. I pursed my lips together and looked away. How embarrassing!

"U-Uh, I... I was trying to knock, Mister Ramirez..." I said in a low manner.

"You should earlier. You look dumb."

My eyes widened because of his direct and offensive words. I was about to fire him when he already turned his back against me and headed to his table. I was about to go inside and follow him when he stopped me with a word.

"Bring this paper to the second floor, to Mister Yuri. And go to the stock room, check the products. Ask Riguel about the information about the products and report it to me as soon as possible. Also, study my schedules."

I gulped as he motioned me a bunch of papers. That looks so heavy... Is he serious about that?

I bet, he is. He doesn't joke.

This is the beginning of my nightmare, then. He is heartless when it comes to working.

"Good luck, Talia. Be safe," I whispered to myself and get to my way. I got this.
