62: Together

He snaked his arms around her waist upon entering the decent restaurant. The side of his lips were curved while they head to their booked table. Talia on the other hand, she has an unreadable facial expression because she was just looking the way they are heading. Kiel can not even define if she is happy or not but since they are cool inside the car, talking all right, he just shrugged her poker face off.

He then guided her to sit on her seat, holding her back and taking careful.

"Hmm, what do you want to eat?" he asked as son as he made on his seat. He looked at her.

"I am full," she said, making his smiles to fade. "I mean, yes, but I still want to eat. Vegetable salad will do, and maybe wine? Or coffee. And oh, deserts."

His smiles plastered back. "What else?"

Talia added some foods that Kiel failed to memorize. He was not even sure if Talia is serious about it because she mentioned almost twenty food from the restaurant. But she noticed that it was too plenty so she mentioned to the staff the major ones she would love to have a taste.

Amusement was evident on Kiel's face when she finished talking to the staff. Once he dropped his, he faced Talia that is staring at him intently.

"Are you good, baby?" he asked her.

"Yeah," she simply answered and looked away. "I just thought of you being a father. Like playing in the playground with our kids, feeding them, laughing with them. That we are happy together."

His smiles widened. "That will happen soon. After months. We will be happy. You and I. We're in the same roof with our kids."

They continued to talk until their order came. Talia was eager to eat and that made Kiel to be the happiest. He wants to see her happy, even because of him. We wanted to be a reason of her happiness.

"Babe, I am to tell you something," said Kiel after minutes. He was trying to tell the matter to her earlier but he has not the courage yet. Talia then slowed down her chewing more to focus her attention to him.

"What is it?" she asked, now curious because Kiel looks nervous and hesitant at the same time. "You look like you are going to pee in your pants, Alexander. What is it? You cheated? You have another woman now? Tell me if you are already tired of me. Tell me if you do not want me anymore, tell me what you want to say –"

Kiel cut her overthinking off. He can not help but to feel sad because she was already thinking that way, that Kiel is cheating to her. He then let out a small sigh and shakes his head.

"I am saying that I will be out of the country next week," he said that made Talia to stop from what she is doing. It was like she did not like what he just told her. "I know, Tal. I will be out for so long but I will do my best to finish my project there well and come back to you."

"I am afraid, Kiel."

"Afraid at what? What are you afraid of, Tal? But if you are against this, I can cancel it –"

"No," she cut him off. "There is no way you are cancelling any of your projects just because of me. I am fine."

Kiel looked at her worriedly. "I want to know what you are afraid of," he said and sipped on his wine. He stared at her thoroughly, waiting for her answer but she just shook her head.

She is afraid to tell it to him. "Nothing."

He bit his lower lip. "Tal, you know that I can not be at peace when you just say nothing. You are in something deep. Please? I want to know your worries. I am your boyfriend and soon to be your husband. You can always tell me what is in your mind."

She somehow felt secured when Kiel said that he will be soon her husband. "You will not like it, Kiel."

"Maybe, but tell me."

She put the spoon and fork down the table so she could focus talking to him. She was hesitant but Kiel is right, she should always be open especially to her worries.

"I am afraid you will fall in love with somebody else," Talia said in monotone, she is obviously ashamed because that sounds childish of her, but she really is afraid.

Kiel lost it. He chuckled and reached for her hand that was resting in the side of the table, beside her plate. With just a look, it was like in one move, Kiel will burst into laughter because he found what Talia said is cute.

"You are the only one," he said, assuring her. "I will never fall for anybody else, Talia. I will forever love you. Everyday, I am in love."

She clicks her tongue in the inside of her cheek. "I am just a bit worried. It was not that I do not trust you but there are people around. Remember what happened between us back in Canada? You were also out, with me."

"It was you," he said. "I will never have sex with anyone I do not even like, Talia. Just keep in mind that you are the only woman I will love, hmm? You are by extreme love."

She ended up nodding her head. She has nothing to say another. Kiel was already assuring her with his love for her. With their love for one another.

"I love you, baby," he added, making her to feel butterflies inside her stomach.

"I love you," she also said with a smile on her lip. They continued eating and while in the middle of talking, someone stood beside their table.

"Whoa, Alexander Ramirez?" It was a voice from a man. One of the Ramirez's business partner. The man has the same age of Kiel.

"Yeah, hey," he greeted and planted a smile on his lips. "I never thought to see you here. Anyway, Peter, this is Talia, my girlfriend."

Talia and Peter looked at each other and introduced themselves for formality. "I did not know you have a girlfriend," Peter chuckled. "I heard the rumors but I have not confirm it yet, just now. You are a great coupe."

"Thanks," said Kiel.

"Thank you," Talia also said with a smile on her lip.

Peter nodded his head. "Sorry for the interruption. So, I may go now. See you around!"

They followed him fading away. When Talia's smiles did not even leave her face, Kiel hissed. "You are smiling, he is handsome, right?"

Talia nodded her head without thinking. "Yeah, he is. But you are more handsome, babe."

Kiel chuckled. "You might have notice how he look at you. Be careful. Talia. He always pull girls with just a look."

"Nah, no way. No one can beat you."

"That's my woman."

After their dinner, they did not go home yet. Before they leave, they made sure that Liah has a food there so if ever she would feel hungry, she will not wait for them anymore. They went to the high-end where the city lights can be seen. Talia was amazed by the view because when you look down, all you can see are small lights like stars in the sky so bright.

"It is beautiful..." she whispered while roaming her eyes around.

Kiel then agreed, looking down at her. "Yes, very beautiful."

"Liah should see this," she muttered. "She loves staring at the sky with the beautiful stars. She would love this place, Alexander."

"We will bring her here next time," he said with a smile. They then sat on the grass and continued to stare at the beautiful view. They were both silent not until Kiel broke it.

"What do you think you are doing now if you did not met me?" he asked in a low manner, almost can not be heard. Talia looked up at him and smiled.

She tilted her head first. "Hmm, maybe I am still in your company with my former position."

"If you did not met me, are you still happy?" he asked again, wanting to know badly what was the impact of him to her life.

That is when Talia shakes her head. "I never been happy. Especially that I lost my parents... I should have lost myself now if you did not came. Or maybe, I was following my parents' path in another life."

That made Kiel to shut. Her answer made his being happy but her story, it was sad. Losing a parent is like dying. Kiel can not even imagine himself living without his parents. Because he grew with an almost perfect family, their relationship is almost perfect and until now, Kiel is thankful that he still have them. And his family could be added officially if Talia will finally marry him.

"So, you are glad that I came?" he assured, smiling. This is the first time he asked Talia about this and he is loving her answers.

"More than grateful," she said. "Nothing can express how happy I am."

Kiel caress her hair and leaned over to kiss her temple. "I may be contented the time I had not met you yet, but when you came, I was the happiest. I can not explain the feeling when I first time saw you."

She chuckled. "Yeah, when I bumped over you and you made me beg."

"Nah, that is not the first time I saw you, Talia."

She hissed. "Yeah, right. You knew me since then. I find it unfair that I met you in a bad way. I wanted to curse you that time, really."

"I saw it in your eyes," he agreed. "You were annoyed and pleading at the same time. Yet I find it cute."

"And you fell," she teased.

"Yeah, who would not?"

They continued to talk to each other until Talia said that she already wanted a rest. Kiel immediately guided her to stand up and they headed to his car. As soon as they went inside, Talia let out a small sigh.

"You think Liah is already asleep?" she asked herself. Kiel heard it so he reached his phone and called Liah. It took two rings before the girl answered.

"Oh, wow. How is your date guys?" Liah asked that as a greet. "I am sorry but uh, I want a favor. Can I just call you Kiel and Talia? I mean, you are my parents, I know. But I am more comfortable that way..."

Kiel and Talia looked at each other before they chuckled in chorus. "Of course, baby. As long as we are your parents."

Liah was happy to hear that from them. "Thank you. So, how was your date? Is it great? Hmm, I think you ate great foods."

"Do you want to eat something you are not familiar to? We will buy for you," Talia said with a smile on her face.

"Huh? No, I mean no need –"

"But you want to taste?"

Liah was silent for a moment. "Uh, I wanted to try new things but –"

"We will buy for you," Kiel said in conviction. "Tell us everything you want, Liah. We will give it to you. You do not have to get shy, hmm? We are family."

"Yeah..." Liah was already smiling on the other line but she groaned a little when she felt a little pain in her stomach.

"Are you fine?" Talia asked worriedly but Liah was not able to answer quickly because she was bearing the pain. "Hey, Liah! What is happening?!"

"She is having her menstruation, remember?" Kiel said, making Talia to understand what is happening. They rush to buy her food and requested to pack it. They also bought medicine in the convenience store and when they arrive in their unit, Liah was already fine.

"Hey, are you still feeling the pain?" Talia immediately asked her and went beside the girl. Kiel put their things in the center table including the food they bought for Liah.

The girl nodded her head lightly. "Yeah, it was like lights being turn on and off."

Talia sighed. "That is what you sometimes feel having a menstruation. We bought you the food and medicine. You should eat first before taking med."

"I will prepare the food in the table," Kiel suggested and went in the dining table.

Liah then looked up at Talia with her teary eyes. Talia bent over and cupped her face, comforting her. "Shush, it is fine..."

"It hurts..." she mumbled and tried so hard to stop her tears from falling but it just can't. When her tears started to flow down her cheeks, Talia wiped them away because it hurts her to see Liah crying.

"Take the meds first and we will go to the hospital," she said, making Liah to quickly shake her head.

"I don't want to get into the hospitals. They have high bills."

"You do not have to worry about that, baby. You should worry more about your health. I can not see you hurting."

"I'm sorry," Liah uttered and looked away from her. "I am giving you problems. I should not –"

"That's family, Liah," Kiel interfered who just finished to prepare the foods. "Family is helping each other, family is taking care of each other and you should get used to that. Keep in mind that love make you feel do anything that is good for them and everyone, hmm? Do not be sorry just because you are in pain. Nothing to feel sorry about."

Liah looked down and her tears shed more. "Yeah, I'm sorry..."

"Nothing to be sorry about," Kiel repeated. "Come here, the foods are ready. Eat first and take meds, hmm?"

Talia watched Liah walk towards Kiel. Kiel cupped her face and plant a gentle kiss on her forehead. That simple view made Talia's heart to flutter and she smiled unconsciously. She loved to watch Kiel being sweet to kids, especially to Liah and their soon to be born baby.
