Just as what is planned, they brought Liah in the hospital so her situation can be checked. Good thing there is no severe, it was just the reaction of her first batch of menstruation. They were nervous at first because Liah might have other pain she is feeling in her body but good thing she is healthy.
"I told you, I am fine," Liah said as they went inside their car. She sat in the backseat while the two were in front. "Anyway, the food last night is the best. I never taste like those in my entire life. Thank you."
Talia heaved a deep sigh and looked at her. "Careful next time, Liah. And eat healthy foods so that disease will be shy to visit you."
Liah chuckled. "I never got a mother that is worrying about me like you."
Talia blinked as she did not expect her to say that. She glance at Kiel first that is focusing his eyes in the road but obviously listening to their conversation. Talia did not wish to hear about her story especially about her parents because it might hurt her, her past about her parents. Bus she voluntarily story tell to them about her life,
"I was five when my parents abandoned me," she stated and looked out the window to avoid Talia's eyes focused on her. "My father is Cage and I do not know my mother. You can hate me guys because I am a daughter of my father..."
"You can continue, Liah," said Talia. "We will never hate you just because of your father. You are not like him."
Liah nodded her head and proceeded. "My grandfather who locked you under were the one who took care of me, for almost eight years. I do not know much about them but I widened my mind. I understand what my father's stand in the world and I am sorry for his doings."
Talia forced a smile at her. "It is good to hear that you widened your mind, Liah. You are such a brave girl. You deserve the world."
"Thank you," she said, almost a whisper. "But what did I do to have you? I did nothing to meet such people as good as you."
Talia chuckled. "I told you, you deserve the world and you deserve us. We are also lucky to meet you, Liah. You have the heart."
While they were on their way, they are having a good time talking about some things. When they arrive the unit, they were surprised to see Margo and Hanz in the living room, watching movies in the television.
"Hey, baby Liah!" Margo immediately stood up to welcome Liah with her wide arm. She even tried to carry her but Liah is not a baby anymore to let Margo do that. "This is Hanz by the way, I and your father's siblings."
As soon as Liah's and Hanz's eyes met, Hanz gulped while Liah blinked. "Uh, I know him..." Liah slowly said and looked away. "He was the one who urge my father to kill."
They did not expect her to say that. Margo looked at Talia and Kiel but they just shook their head. Hanz then heaved a deep sigh and hissed.
"Be mad at me if you want, kid," Hanz said without hesitation, making Talia, Kiel and Margo to provoke him. But what he said seemed to not affect Liah because she simply sat in the couch in front of Hanz.
"I can't be mad at you, I do not have the right," the girl uttered and looked up to meet his eyes darting on her. "Thank you for making us live for almost a year, even though everything started with a crime."
Again, they did not expect her words. Hanz then chuckled because he see that Liah is brave enough. "You are like your father, little kid. Strong, brave, but nothing."
"What the hell, Hanz?" Kiel fired him. "She is an innocent girl and she has nothing to do with Cage! Can you see your words?"
"Easy, Kiel. We are just having fun!" Hanz defended with a chuckle but they just rolled their eyes to him. When Liah spoke again, they looked at her.
"And you are nothing compared to your siblings. They are innocent, you are not."
The side of Hanz's lips rose. "I like your personality, kiddo. Maybe you would like to drink with me?"
"Hanz, stop that," Talia provoked him. "She is not like you, okay? She is just a kid for heaven's sake! Come on, Liah. Do not mind this man. Let's go to your room and change your clothes."
Liah say nothing and followed Talia heading to her room. When they went inside, Kiel almost punched Hanz.
"What do you think you are doing, Hanz? She is different to her father. Can not you shut your being and just mind your own business? You are abusing her!"
"Chill," Hanz said and let out a small chuckle. "There is nothing to worry about, dude. We are just playing! Can not you see that what I am saying is just nothing to her? She is a brave girl."
"Still, you are a dick," Margo fired and rolled her eyes. She then walked out and just headed to the kitchen. Kiel looked at Hanz for the last time with his jaw clenching before he went inside his and Talia's room, leaving Hanz in the living room.
"Are you fine?" Talia asked Liah as soon as they get inside her room. She cupped her face but she can not read pain and worry in her face.
"That is not serious," Liah said and snorted. "But still, I am annoyed at his grin. It reminds me of my father."
"Next time, do not mind him, hmm?" Talia said in a sweet manner.
Liah then nodded her head. "He is fine, though. He is good at playing. He is right about earlier, I had fun. That was not serious so you guys do not have to worry about me."
"All right, sweetie. Come and I will choose your clothes."
Talia went to her closet and looked at her dresses. She can not help but smile because she could imagine Liah wearing different style and it would suit her well. Everything she wear will always make her look more good.
"Talia..." Liah called her as she picked a dress. She looked at the girl and hummed.
"Hmm? What is it?"
Liah looked down. "Are not you really hating me? I am Cage's daughter... The man who killed your parents..."
Talia sighed and sat at the edge of her bed. "I do not know where you get those information, Liah. Why did you know that he was the one who killed my parents?"
Liah can not look at Talia when she answered, "I know everything what my father did..."
Talia made her sit beside her. Then, she held her chin and made her look up at her. "Stop thinking that way, Liah. I am not hating you, we are not hating you. Again, you are different to your father. Your blood might be connected but your mind and doings are not. You are innocent and he is not."
Liah shut as Talia continued.
"And stop doubting yourself about your being. Know your worth. We are now your parents, and we will influence you. We will raise you good, better. I will not let you feel neglected. And someday, you will thank yourself for being you."
Liah could not help but appreciate Talia and her words. She really did not know what she did to have her, to have them - to have family. The feeling of having parents beside you is the best, the happiest. Liah could not ask for more. Talia and Kiel is enough for her.
"I love you..." That is the first time she say that to a parent. She never utter that to Cage, to her mother whom she did not met. And to her grandfather. She is not vocal and she somehow regret being too silent about her feelings. She had not given a chance to tell her grandfather that she loved him and forever she will. And now, she will never do the same mistake.
Talia seemed taken aback when she heard that from Liah. She heard it, from her daughter. They might not flesh of blood, but it seems like she heard that from a daughter thankful for having her mother.
Talia embraced her tightly and closed her eyes to feel her warmth. "I love you, baby..." Talia uttered and kissed the top of her head. "I love you, Liah. We love you."
"Thank you..." Liah said while hiding in her chest. "I thought no one would accept me for being me, for having a blood of my father. But here are you guys, loving every inch of me. Even my flaws, my imperfections. I may not be good but I will be the greatest for you."
Talia smiled. "That's my daughter..."
Talia feel lonely the next week because her half another was not around. She felt like something is off, something is lacking and that was just Kiel's presence beside her. His presence is enough for her joy and she could not get enough. She have Liah at home but since she was going to school, she often gets alone inside the unit. Their maid would only be around when there is no one and it is a good thing there is someone she could talk to."Do you love eating vegetable salad?" she asked to the maid that is busy cooking food in the stove. The woman looked at her and smiled. The woman can not lie, she feels odd when her boss will talk to her like they were friends but she should get used to because Talia wants a conversation with her."Yes, I do eat every food that the table can offer," she answered. Talia is one year older than her and the woman has a big respect to Talia because of her personality and kindness."Hmm, good to hear. What was your name again? Sorry, I forgot about it," T
Talia and Yanna did not stay long outside since Talia is feeling weird again. She can not understand the feeling that is striking her but it is all about her pregnancy. And she does not feel well, it was like she will be sick in no time.“Hey, what are you feeling?” Yanna asked her worriedly that she just answered with a shake of her head.“I am fine,” Talia said but her feeling says otherwise.“We should go to the hospital,” Yanna suggested and was about to call for her bodyguard but Talia stopped her. She does not want to go to hospital because she hate it. And for her, she could bear the weird feeling struck.“Don’t,” she uttered to stop her. “I am fine, Yanna, really. If you want to help, just get me hot water.”Yanna followed her immediately. As soon as Talia receive the hot water, she sighed and started to sip on the cup. She rest inside their room and took a nap. Talia also tried to call Kiel but he is not answering, probably busy, but she cannot help but feel sad because she w
“Talia! I’ve been waiting for you for almost an hour!” Maureen kept on complaining to me from the other line while I was busy walking fast down the stairways. Can’t she wait? I am carrying her a bunch of things! I was even bumping against the people with an opposite path of mine! I was on the verge of stumbling down the floor! My gosh! “I am sorry, okay? Just wait for me, ugh! Excuse me, Miss!” I kept on pushing myself through the sea of people. Damn it! Why do we have to hurry this time when we can finish our project in the former days? Tsk! We were just too lazy these past few days. So annoying! I waited for the elevator to open. I cannot stay still. I keep on stomping my feet because of anticipation. My patience can’t! I have to fucking hurry! I don’t want our group to pass our proposal late! "Talia, half on an hour left! We still have to finish some slides!” Maureen sounded so nervous and worried. I just shook my head and looked up, I then closed my eyes. I felt dizzy. “Don’t
I know I'll fuck up. "Thanks for coming." I felt cold as I heard his tone. It was cold and husky, a mood of a serious person. The man named Kiel Alexandro Ramirez, the CEO of this company whom I did not recognize. How come I did not know this, though? He was sitting on a swivel chair, facing my back. Hovering the glass wall where the outsiders and other huge buildings can be seen. And hey, he was sipping on his wine like a savage boss. I can't help but grimace. Even tho I am nervous, I can't stop myself from judging him. He is familiar. I know... "Good morning, Mister." Yes, I have to greet him. I don't have time to be rude. My life is already fucked and I don't want to add trashes to my can. I am done. Slowly, he turned around to face me. I was not surprised at all when I saw that damn face. I knew it. It was a guy I messed with lately. He called me here for punishment, then? Anyway, I am willing to do anything. I do what I say. He licked his lower lip as he let out a subtle c
"Dad?" I called my father as I entered our house. I used to see him sitting on the sofa and watching news on the television. But this time, I did not catch him in the living room. Maybe, he is in the kitchen or his room. I went to my room first to change my clothes. I quite arranged my things because my room look so messy. This day is tiring. It was still noon, and the surrounding is peaceful. I let out a sigh. My family isn't financially stable. It was just me and my father who is left. My mother died, and my sister was adopted by my aunt. Daddy can't raise us both, life is a struggle. We and my sister still communicate, tho. We never lose connection. We just simply live in this huge town. I strive hard to help dad get through life. And that is why I am willing to surrender everything to show my presence in the meeting and show our proposal. Because if our team gets approved, we'll level up. That is what my mother wants. I shook my head and went outside my room to check on dad.
"Is your decision already final?" I heaved a deep sigh and nodded my head to Zed. Yes, this is already final. I have to work for myself. Nothing has been left at me because of my father's death. Everything that was mine, it all vanished. I have to start another chapter of my life. I will make sure to be better and get better. "Alright, then." He helped me with my things. I will be living in our house. Staying here is no good for me. It will just give me trauma. I moved to his condo. He suggested to me to live with him and will just buy mine if I already have enough money. I did not say anything, though. It is just fine for me to live with him. He is my friend for already years, and he is the best man I ever encountered. "Here's your things, the left room is yours." I forced a smile at him and get my things afterward. When I entered the room, I pursed my lips together into one line. The room is so neat. Zed probably cleaned it. And the things, it was all done. All I just have to d
"You look like you just regret everything." I closed my eyes harshly and leaned against the headboard of my bead. Yes, I really do. I regret my decision and I did not like what I did lately. I am too coward to refuse Kiel Alexandro Ramirez. And besides, work is work. There is no bias there. "Hey, Miss. You are now fired." I looked at Ramirez's former secretary. Disbelief and surprise then crept her eyes. "W-What?" "I said, you are now fired." I showed her that I am too brave to tell her this. That I am not nervous at all. That I am desperate to have my work and fire the shit out of her. "B-But..." "I am the new secretary," I cut her off with a smile on my lips. She almost stepped backward in horror. "You are done. Come and find a new job." I could feel Zed's stares at me so I opened my eyes and looked at him. I just remembered what I did as Ramirez's told me to fire her. I did regret, however, this feeling will never lead me to something great. "What?" Zed raised her brows at
I slowly walked through the hallway...Damn! I do not know the exact location of Mister Yuri's office! I am already on the second floor just like what Mister Ramirez said. This building is just a great maze. It is making me confused big time, and yeah, my head started to ache. I have been wandering around, not sure of my way and the direction I should choose to go.My gosh! I need a freaking help.I groaned in subtlety as I felt my foot twitched. My foot started to get hurt too. What should I do? I really look so clumsy when I do not know the right thing to do. This is not my first time in the company, but a first-timer being a secretary. I am not familiar with the place since I did not have time to wander around.I roam my eyes around and sighed hopelessly. I could feel sweats on my forehead. Good thing I just applied light makeup because it might have ruined yet in the situation I am in. I should ask an employee on this floor. I am wasting my time here."Hi, Miss," I called the atte
