Chapter 36

Without bothering Mom's words about Amelia, Nathan forced himself to eat some. When he couldn't take anymore, he just got up and left the table, uttering, "I am done."

He got back to his room and got pacing around for some time. Taking the car keys, he left the room and walked downstairs.

Jackson was there, sitting in the living room. Seeing him, at first Nathan thought, he would ask him about the reason for not attending office and moreover, yell at him.

But he didn't. When he got closer, he found his father sitting on the sofa as he had his eyes closed, head rested against it. His face seemed to be somewhat exhausted.

He looked around to find his Mom but she wasn't there around. Getting somewhat confused, Nathan got near Jackson, "Dad?"

No response.

He sat beside him and again called, "Dad?" as he lightly touched his shoulder.

Jackson opened his eyes slowly, "Hmm?"

"What happened?" Nathan got concerned. He had never seen his Dad like this.

"Nothing. I am just tired." Jackson got up,
