Kingston’s POV

My phone had been buzzing all day with my mother’s call. I had ignored every one of her calls intentionally, but she was very stubborn about it. I knew what she wanted to discuss. I knew the only reason she wanted to talk to me urgently was because of Clarissa, and I was not interested in anything that involved her.

I was in a meeting when my phone buzzed again. The men paused to stare at me. “What’s going on? Do you have to pick that?”

It was my mother. “Don’t bother. It’s nothing urgent.”

I opened the file in front of me. “As I was saying, it will be best to get the land now. There is a high possibility of the rate of that particular land increasing soon. If we purchase it and build a complex apartment it is going to be in our favour.”

The men nodded. I loved keeping my managers informed of major projects, or whenever we were trying to acquire a new property that would need a new manager. I tried bringing them all together to evaluate who I could put in char
