Chapter 03

AUTHOR'S POV

Blood. Lots of blood.

He was scared. His heart was thumping against his ribcage. His vision was blurry as the blood pouring down from the wound of his head invaded his left eye. Opening the door of the car, he staggered out.

Grabbing his head, he shook it for a few moments before he opened his eyes again and looked at the car in front of him.

He could see two people and then blood that was all around the car. All the windows of the car were broken along with the windshield. His breath hitched as he stumbled back. His mind was in a state of numbness where he was able to see, hear or listen everything, but he was unable to register it in his mind.

All he could focus on was Blood and Blood. Fear crawled up his spine as his mother's words echoed in his ears.

' You must never admit your mistake. Covering everything up is easy for people like us. '

Blood, Two people, A damaged car. Everything started to disappear into nothingness slowly, leaving only darkness around him.

' You ruined everything. ' It was the familiar female voice this time. Someone was blaming him with so much hate that he felt like his breath was knocked out of him.

Slowly, Tobias blinked his eyes open and felt the sunlight hitting his face.

It was a nightmare that haunted him again.

Closing his eyes, he breathed heavily and licked his lips that felt too dry. His head was pounding like a truck ran over it.

Gradually, his mind started registering everything around him. The first thing that he sensed was a weight over the left side of his chest and stomach.

His eyes shot open and he turned his head to see what it was. His breath caught up in his throat along with his eyes going wide in horror.

A head. All he could see was long brown hair scattered over his body while her slow breaths hit his chest.

What...happened? He gulped and froze for a moment.

Closing his eyes again, he tried to calm down and then the realization dawned upon him. They were not wearing clothes. A lump formed in his throat when he realized what might have happened.

But why could not he remember anything? Why?

The last thing he remembered was colliding with that stripper in the hallway. Another wave of shock hit his mind fast.

He opened his eyes and inspected the head again. Shit. He flinched and closed his eyes to not start cursing out loud.

She was that Stripper from last night. Her hair were the same.

Suddenly, she stirred in her sleep. Tobias's body went stiff as he felt her moving against him, before she raised her head and looked around sleepily.

She moved her head towards him. Their eyes met. He was sure that he had never seen such beautiful Hazel eyes before, but he was not phased one bit. He was worried more about the possibility that he might have done something wrong to her. He could not remember and this was making his heart beat violently in his chest.

Out of the blue, her eyes started filling up with tears and Tobias found his heart drowning in the pit of his stomach.

He did it again. He hurt someone again.

He gulped and tried to speak, but words were not coming out from his mouth.

He watched her silently without taking notice of anything about her. He did not want to be disrespectful towards her by letting his eyes go anywhere other than her rare Hazel orbs.

“ Y-You.. ” She sniffed as tears started falling out of her eyes. Closing her eyes, she started sobbing with her hands still placed on his body.

He wanted to shift away from her. He wanted to run away to not know what he might have done. But he had stopped running away.

Did you? His mind mocked him, as he sighed out to himself.

“ What happened? ” He let out shakily, as his ears perked up to hear her answer.

“ You... ” She trailed off once more and started crying harder which made him slightly push her off himself.

She instantly scurried away and held the sheets to her body to cover herself from his eyes when he was not even looking at her.

Tobias sat up and she followed suit. Both fell silent.

He was being too patient with her. By giving her so much time to cry and feel a little better before telling him what happened, was a test of true endurance for him. He could feel his fingers twitching in anticipation.

“ You didn't stop. I told you that you were drunk and you wouldn't re-remember but you didn't stop. ” She accused him and sobbed louder.

Tobias's mind was in shock. He did not want to believe it. He could not do this. He pushed his hair back and looked away to breath a little.

“ Di-Did I for-force myself on you? ” The question was hard. Harder than he thought it would be.

But he needed to know. He needed to know what he did in order to regret it rightfully.

“ N-No... ” She shook her head and gazed up at him with her Hazel eyes.

He stared at her wanting to find out if she was telling the truth or not. It was a big relief. A true relief that he did not force himself on her.

“ Then? ” He asked, pursing his lips. If he did not force himself on her then why was she crying? He wondered as he always lacked the skills to understand someone's emotions.

Why could not he remember anything? He let out a shaky breath. He did not even drink that much to black out completely like this.

“ You took my virginity. ” She hissed, making Tobias look at her.

So...they... He tried to form the words in his head but stopped himself from doing it. It was torturous.

“ And you told me last night that you will take responsibility for it. ” She added, as she sniffed and observed him with her narrowed eyes.

Hazel could see that he was in a dilemma or maybe he was still in shock. That's why his reactions were coming so slow.

Did he really not remember anything that happened? She pondered over the thought and noticed the hard look on his face.

“ I don't remember anything that happened last night. ” He murmured under his breath. Guilt could be clearly detected in his smooth masculine voice.

“ Then you won't take responsibility for it? ” She breathed out, as fear started crawling up her spine.

He would not ditch her after everything right? That would be awful for her.

But that's what a Powerful man like him would usually do. What could she even do to him if he refused to take responsibility for his actions? She could not do a single thing to him.

Contrary to her expectations, Tobias raised his head and gazed at her with his brown eyes that were screaming remorse. He regretted doing something, that he did not even remember.

“ How do you want me to take responsibility? ” That was a hell weird question coming from him, but this made Hazel sigh in utter relief.

At least, he was ready to take responsibility. She wiped her puffy eyes and glared at him while he watched her intently, waiting for her demands.

“ Give me your number. I don't know how you are going to take responsibility either. I will call you when I think of something. ” Hazel demanded, making Tobias set his lips in a thin line.

What kind of weird woman she was? She did not think this through. What if he disappeared after giving her the phone number? She was not even thinking about this possibility.

“ Okay. ” He let out and nodded his head. A lump was forming in his throat, as he kept his eyes fixed at her face.

“ Get dressed first. ” He licked his lips and averted his eyes away, before asking her to get dressed.

Hazel glared at the side of his face. He was not even looking at her which was really strange. No man would ever miss this opportunity.

Scrunching up her nose, she pushed herself off the bed and started wearing her skimpy clothes. At least, these clothes were better than to roam around bare.

All the while, Hazel's eyes took in his behaviour. He never once looked at her even when she was standing there without clothes.

He was indeed different.

“ You can look at me now. ” She yawned out, the remnants of previous tantrum leaving her tone altogether.

When he agreed to take responsibility, there was nothing to worry about for her.

“ Do you have your cell phone? ” He asked all of a sudden and Hazel nodded her head before moving to the couch to get the phone she dropped there last night.

Bringing the phone over, she fixed him with a questioning gaze.

“ Give it to me. I will save my number. ” Pushing his hand forward, he spoke in a neutral tone.

Unlocking her phone, Hazel handed it over to him and then watched as he saved his contact in it.

Her eyes took in the man sitting in front of her. He was indeed handsome. Breath-takingly handsome.

But his eyes held a dull-empty look.

Shaking her head, she grabbed her phone when he raised his hand towards her again.

“ Call me when you are done thinking about whatever you want me to do. ” He commanded unconsciously and Hazel nodded her head on instinct.

“ I am leaving now. ” Announcing to him, Hazel started walking away. She was walking slowly like she was in pain, Tobias had noticed.

This made him feel even more guilty. How could he do this?!

He threw his pounding head in his hands as soon as Hazel stepped out of the room and closed the door behind her.

The silence in the room was suffocating and he felt like the walls were closing in on him from all sides.

He was going to do whatever she would ask of him. He would do anything to take responsibility.

But why could not he remember anything?

Why?

**********

Hazel rolled her eyes as she stared at his contact number for the nth time.

He was so strange.

How was it so easy for him to say that he was going to take responsibility for everything? Was he not supposed to be some kind of spoiled rich brat?

Sighing softly, she swirled the glass of wine in her right hand while holding the phone in her left one.

She was waiting for him. Sitting in the yacht, she did not know how long passed, but he did not come. He liked to make her wait and then say that he was busy, when she knew he was not. It was just a way to make her wait and feel insignificant, which she was for him.

Lost in her thoughts, she did not realize when he came behind her and kissed her shoulder softly. Whipping her head around, Hazel glanced at him before narrowing her eyes in controlled anger.

“ I was waiting for you. ” She complained and he did what he was used to do. He laughed it off, because she was not that special to be given a response to.

“ I know baby. ” He spoke out of a sudden surprising her. He moved around the couch and sat beside her on it.

“ Tell me now. ” He ordered, making Hazel let out a shaky breath.

This was so bad.

She raised the phone in front of his face and showed him the number.

“ You got him? He believed you? ” He chuckled out in disbelief and leaned in towards Hazel, when she dropped the phone down giving him a smug look.

“ He didn't even ask anything when I fooled him into taking responsibility. ” Hazel shook her head reminiscing how guilty he looked for nothing.

That was how the drug affected him. He did not even remember anything that happened between them.

“ Tobias Ashford... ” He snickered darkly. Hazel eyed him and noticed how his hands were all over her. “ He is such an emotional fool. ” He added and looked at her.

“ You never disappoint me Angel. ” He grabbed her waist and pulled her close. Hazel stared in his eyes and gulped down the nervous lump forming in her throat.

“ What now? ” Hazel asked, making sure to get to know everything from him.

“ Everything will be as I told you. ” He snuggled in her neck and Hazel finally sighed out.

This was not bad.

This was worst.
