It was a fun day for Elena and her kids. Their laughter alone replenished her after what happened while she was in the restroom of a restaurant they attended for dinner.
She was unlucky to meet a once acquaintance of hers. A girl who hated her guts, a girl who was darn jealous of her because she married Alexander Black. He's after all, a cynosure of all eyes. A man every girl wants to open their legs for."So this is where you ran to?" Was her first statement to Elena.Elena lowered her gaze, took a towel, and cleaned her hands, wanting to ignore the girl. The girl pushed her arm making Elena stumble back. She gave her a confused look. "What's your problem, Betty?"Betty scoffed, folding her arms as she glowered at Elena. "Problem? I don't have any. Hearing about you and Alex breaking up, was like the food I was so hungry for, it filled me."Elena nodded. "Yeah, well that's four years ago and in the past. You've got what you want, good for you, so leave me alone."Betty smiled at her. "In the end, you lost, Elena. You acted all better than me, made me feel anger after stealing him away from me.""I never stole him from you, Betty. You were never his. Just another slut in his eyes." Elena retorted.Betty's hands fell beside her, turning into a fist."You were the biggest slut, Elena. He came to give a speech in school back then, and you seduced him."Elena looked away remembering those times. She was in her last year in college, trying hard to think of what next to do in life before she bumped into him accidentally. That day was the first day they met.....••••••••••"Elena, why on earth aren't you in class yet, the lecturer is about to arrive." Her friend, Emily scolded her over the phone.Elena came out of the shuttle with her books in hand as she ran toward the lecture hall. "I'm almost there, Em. My mom delayed me. Just try to save a seat for me, okay?"Emily sighed. "Just be fast about it."Elena nodded, but before she could say a word, she bumped into a man's back, causing her to stumble back all her books, and materials falling on the floor. She gasped and the man turned to look at her at the impact. She bowed at him. "I'm sorry." And she immediately squatted to pick up her books on the floor. The man just stood watching her, for some reason, amusement was suddenly written in his eyes. The girl was beautiful and looked innocent.Elena stood up with all her books and gave him another bow. "My apologies." She told him before running towards the hall, and into it.The man turned and looked at her. She didn't even spare a second to notice him or to stare in awe at him like girls normally do.He looked back at his script prepared for his speech and wondered if he was gonna see the girl again. Hopefully, she's a fourth-year student and he'll be able to spot her while he gives his speech.•••••••••She remembered Betty couldn't stop talking about him. Betty tried everything possible to get close to him only to discover he was interested in Elena.Elena was surprised at first. He asked her for coffee and after that, things happened and they became close. She sighed, looking back at Betty. "Well think what you like."Betty shrugged. "I will. Fortunately, he realized the kind of slut you are." She sneered at Elena and catwalk out of the room.Elena let out a breath and blinked back the tears that threaten to escape from her eyes. It was like that day suddenly enveloped her memories. She decided to brush things off and go back to her kids since they might be wondering why she's taking time. She can't keep letting anything get to her. They were already back home since it was evening, and she freshened them up and got them ready for bed as they were already looking exhausted. After tucking them to bed, she came down the stairs realizing Evan's things weren't in the house. It confused her so she called him. After four rings he picked. "He..hello."She could hear noises in the background. "Where are you, Evan? What are you doing?""Don't worry, Lena. I'm with friends." He sounded like he was drunk."Are you drunk, Evan?" She decided to ask."Don't worry about me."Elena sighed. "Your things aren't here." She made it known."Yeah, I took it. I'm with a friend."Elena rolled her eyes since Evan is never gonna stop his habit. "Better be careful, Evan. You just broke up with someone and you're already moving on to someone else.""That is wrong, Lena. I'm not moving on, okay? I'm fine."Elena nodded, deciding not to bother anymore. "Fine then. Will I be seeing you before you leave?""Maybe. Maybe not. Not sure.""Evan...""Love you but I gotta go." Evan rambled before he hung the call-up.Elena sighed loudly and brush off whatever worries she was feeling. Evan isn't a kid anyways. She sat on her couch, and Betty's face suddenly appeared in her mind. She's been trying her best to avoid thinking about it, but she couldn't.She rested her head on the couch as she imagined how their kids will feel if they saw their father. If it was right to keep them away from him, especially since she knows where he lives. Her dad died when she was ten and her mom was like the worse mother on earth. She was always absent, and drunk. The only thing her mom did for her is gave her money to finish high school. Going to college was her hard-earned money. She was tired of life and wanted to leave. She wanted to show her mom she'll turn out better. After everything, she ended up being married and was tossed out of the house. The shame she felt, felt like she was standing on a pinnacle where the cold, blazing wind whipped about her. Her life felt messed up.She made sure it didn't affect her though. She made sure her kids didn't suffer for it. She made sure that she wasn't looking like her mother.Deep down, she knows she's enough for her kids, but they also need their father. It was a contributing factor to Xander's fights in school. His mates make fun of him that he's got no father. They have the right to know their father. It's not as if their father is a bad person. He's just one angry, jealous mess. Although she wouldn't blame him. Those pictures were too real. She just thought he trusted herHer eyes slowly closed as she was already getting drowsy, and suddenly she jerked awake as a knock sounded on her door. She sighed tiredly and looked at the door. She got up from the couch and walked towards it, wondering who could be visiting.Opening it, her eyes widened at the sight, and her heart began beating at the man that unexpectedly graced her with his sight."Missed me?"She blinked at his deep voice, completely shocked as she wondered what the hell was going on.Elena was stiffened to the spot where she stood, her hand on her door, and her eyes locked on Alex. The confusion in her knew no bounds. It felt like the shock paralyzed her.A man who pushed her out of his house was suddenly in front of her once again. Why? Why is he here now?Although he's still as handsome as usual. His perfectly chiseled face, perfectly styled black hair, his blue eyes, and the way he dresses, it didn't change. Black pantsuits, black coat, black everything. Six feet three inches tall while she's just five feet, seven inches. There wasn't any change in him she could notice.Alex didn't say anything to her. He just stared, more like accessed her, how different she looked, how more beautiful she became.Elena let out a shaky breath and blinked away after deciding to come back to her senses. "What are you doing here?""Aren't you gonna invite me in?" He asked seriously.Elena shook her head. "No, I won't, cause you're not welcomed."Alex nodded. "Fair, but what I've c
It was a new week, and Alex was completely lost in thoughts even though he seemed engrossed in a file in his office. He was an impatient man but he was trying so hard not to stand up, drive his car, and zoomed toward the restaurant Elena works in. He missed her so much and decided to see her only to find out he was a father. It's something he couldn't even tell his parents until he got closer to them. He wants her back, so badly but he needed to give her time, more space since he knew his appearance overwhelmed her.He doesn't normally think like this, but for Elena he does. It was due to the love he has for her, the love that makes him different from her.He wished he realized it sooner. The simple difference in the picture. He was so blinded by rage that he couldn't even see clearly or think straight. His door opened, revealing his secretary. She smiled as she walked toward him. "Mr. Black."Alex looked at his wristwatch and back at her with a serious expression. "Why are you here?"
Elena did her rounds of cooking for the day, and all through, she has been thinking about Alex. It's been a week since they last saw him, and it made her wonder if he has given up.She pulled off her apron and hair net to give the next chef space to start her rounds.A waitress came toward her. "Miss Millers."Elena looked at her with raised eyebrows. "What's it?""We have a customer that seemed to be looking for you. He said he's only gonna eat your food."Elena furrowed her brows in confusion and left the kitchen towards the room where customers are attended to.Alex waved at her making her sigh."You know him? He's handsome." The waitress remarked.Elena gave her a frown before looking back at Alex. She walked towards the table and sat down on the chair. "I thought I wasn't gonna be seeing you."Alex chuckled. "Why? Were you praying for it?"Elena decided to ignore the question. "So why are you here?""The last time I came, I came for you, and I wanted to say something to you. I di
"Feed me more, mommy." Amy bounced on Elena's lap as she ate French fries."Patient, baby, you have ketchup on your face," Elena said, stopping her from moving, before cleaning the ketchup off her mouth. "Better.""Thanks, mommy."Alex's mouth curved up in a small smile before looking at Xander who ate on his own. His little man. "So, little man, what do you want to be when you grow up?"Xander grinned. "Use people to make money and become rich."Alex's brow stretched in amusement, while Elena just sighed."Use people, ah? You don't like people?" He decided to ask wanting to know what his reply will be.Xander frowned like he was disgusted by something. "Yes. I'll scare them and get rich."Alex smirked. "A good one."Xander widened his eyes at him. "Really? You don't think it's scary? Mommy always says that."Alex looked at her. "Of course. She says that a lot to your daddy, and he'll be very proud of you." He said, running his hand through his hair.Amy looked at him. "You know my da
Elena arrived at the restaurant where she was supposed to meet an important someone. Having Alex back in her life has been honestly relaxing for the past two weeks. How he was with the children, his love for them, reminded her of a lot.Marrying an arrogant and conceited man was never on her tab or her ideal man, but the love he could have, the love he could give, the way he could make you feel different and special, he did make her feel that way until she fell in love without realizing it.But how can she forget everything she went through? When did he realize the truth, why didn't he come for her earlier? What has he been doing these four years after their divorce? There were thoughts in her mind that made her feel pain in her heart. He could have gotten himself with different women but she shouldn't be affected, she's no longer married to him.She smiled at the person already there waiting for her and waving at her. It felt awkward though, especially remembering how she decided to
Alex knocked on the door, waiting patiently for an answer. He waited a few moments before deciding to knock again but the door suddenly opened. "Daddy!"Alex looked down to see it was his daughter and he immediately lifted her up in his arms, giving her a smile. "Hey, princess. How are you?" He asked, entering in, and locking the door."I'm fine. We didn't see you. Mommy said you were busy" She pouted.Alex nodded. "Mommy is right." He answered, looking around for her. "And where's mom...""Daddy!" Alex averted his gaze towards his son bounding off the stairs with a big airplane toy in his hand. "Oh God, Xander!" He looked toward the kitchen hearing Elena's voice and she came out. "I told you, no running on the stairs." She scolded."I just wanted to see my daddy, and show him my new toy."Elena looked at Alex and back at his son. "Next time, no running on the stairs."Xander nodded. "Yes, mommy."Elena sighed as he ran toward his dad and hugged his legs.Alex smiled and lifted him w
Elena woke up at the sound of her alarm and stretched feeling so relaxed and peaceful. She clicked the off button of the clock and let out a breath of relief. She felt she never had a good sleep like this for a long while. She moved her head to her right and blinked remembering she shared a bed with her ex-husband. She sighed, sat up on the bed, and gave the back of her neck a massage before yawning. She looked at the clock and her brows furrowed. She rubbed both her eyes wondering if she was seeing clearly but she still found the same thing. It was 7:23 am. "Shit." She cursed under her breath and immediately left the room. She was late for everything. Her kids are supposed to be in school before eight and she was supposed to be at work also. She went to their rooms and frowned as they were not inside. She walked down the stairs wondering where they are, beginning to feel the need to panic. As she was about to call their names..."Ella..."She looked toward the dining and gaped at see
Elena let out a shaky breath as Alex arrived at the compound of his father's home. She couldn't believe how nervous she felt or why she felt nervous at all when she never did anything wrong. When Alex told her about his parents wanting to meet her and their grandkids, she knew she couldn't say no. Just looking at the mansion brought out so many memories, and made her remember how lovely Alex's parents are and how terrible they could be, especially his father after knowing what they think she did.She jumped as she felt a hand on her lap, and she looked at him."Are you alright?"Elena nodded. "Yeah."He shook his head, looking away, and opened the car door. "Don't know if I miss you always blanking into space."She furrowed her brows. "What?"He gave her a smile before leaving and slamming the door shut. She sighed and unfastened her seatbelt. He opened the door for her and she came out. He proceeded to open the door for his kids who looked excited in seeing their grandparents. They'v
