4. The Power of Alpha: The Death of the Fiance!

John Barlow died today.

He died on the bed in his room while having sex with Elena Legoza. He suddenly felt as if he was wracked by an invisible force, and his neck snapped, killing him instantly.

Kathy Legoza was so mad that she vowed to make Elena and Laura suffer the same fate.

The news spread to every corner of the castle, and the whole city was shocked.

"The police officer who examined the corpse said that the broken bone stubs on John's neck had poked through the skin, which was very frightening."

I heard that the young lady was also scared out of her wits and couldn't speak anymore.

Elena is also a daughter of the Legoza family, and is on an equal footing with Kathy. Yesterday, she was on the stage mocking Laura, but today she is so scared that she cannot speak a complete sentence.

So Kathy's condemnation also received no response at all. She gritted her teeth in anger and fidgeted around the castle.

Today, there is no tranquility in the Legoza Manor.

The beautiful ghost was now lying on Laura Legoza's lap, with its teeth embedded in her arm, tearing off her flesh inch by inch and swallowing it down.

She was in spasm of pain.

But compared to the joy in my heart, this pain is nothing.

"Well done.

She ran her fingers through his tousled hair, smiling brightly.

"Do you have a name?" she asked.

The man lifted his head, grinning mischievously. "Why, would a master care about a servant's name?"

"Tell me again about the state that man was in when he died."

"I vanished into the room, twisted his neck—it turned a full 360 degrees, exposing bone, quite a spectacle. There was also a woman atop him; I held her head in place for us to enjoy the show."

Laura couldn't help but laugh.

"And because his voice was so grating, I ripped out his tongue and tossed it away."

"I'm very satisfied," Laura said, running her fingers through his hair.

"Come, tell me your name."

He took Laura's hand, lightly nibbling at it.

"Ned Naumes. But really, no one asks the name of a ghostly servant."

Laura thought her hand might be bitten, but she only felt the sharp fangs grazing it, no blood drawn.

Could her hand have some sort of charm against being bitten?

"Ned, well done."

"Miss, a reminder: don't casually address werewolf by name."

"Why?"

"Unnecessary names may provoke unwanted emotions. Humans are troublesome in that way."

Laura laughed audaciously, lifting his chin with her hand, looking down at him.

"Ned, we both take what we need, I understand that very well."

Her eyes held an unfathomable ice. "I'm no longer the little girl I used to be."

--------------

At dusk, Laura, sitting on the ground, heard a commotion not far away and knew they had come.

Perhaps they all thought she was dead and had come to collect her body.

Laura remained seated, too lazy to even lift her eyelids, as she wrapped the white silk that Ned had brought her earlier around her wound.

The wound was still bleeding, but she no longer felt any pain.

"Hey, how is this bitch still alive?"

Her condition was clearly far beyond Kathy's imagination, and watching her sister's confusion and shock turn to rage was amusing to her.

Unable to contain her amusement, Laura smiled and looked up.

"What brings my sister to me at this hour?"

Kathy stared at her with venom in her eyes.

"How could you..."

"How could I still be alive, is that it?"

Laura stood up and looked at her, chin raised.

"Didn't my sister say I had a cheap life?"

"Someone like me is bound to be tougher than you ladies of the court."

Kathy Legoza looked at her coldly and suddenly said,

"John is dead."

Laura continued to look at her, her eyes unwavering.

"A few days ago, John was found brutally murdered in his room, his neck even broken."

Kathy continued, scrutinizing her face as if trying to pry out an emotion.

"You and he were childhood sweethearts, growing up together. Although you are now betrothed to another, surely you must feel some sadness for him, considering your old affection?"

She thought Laura was hiding her emotions, but there was not a trace of sadness in the air.

"How could I?"

Laura suddenly grabbed the railing, causing the old iron gate to shake.

Kathy was startled and quickly had her maid stand in front of her.

"Sister, did you kill John?"

"What nonsense are you talking about!"

"Then it must be Elena. After all, John loved her the most."

Laura laughed softly, staring at Kathy.

She had heard rumors about their tangled relationships before, but she had been too naive to believe them.

"Perhaps Elena was jealous of how close John had been to you these past few days..."

"Bitch, what do you know!"

Laura laughed recklessly.
