5. You Are Not to Leave

"Why is my sister so angry? Have you forgotten how last month, you lured John Barlow into your room, Missionary Style, Doggy Style, Reverse Cowgirl..."

"Shut up! Shut up! I'll kill you!"

Kathy's overwhelming anger made her rush down from the platform, her hand reaching through the iron gate to grab Laura's throat.

Laura continued to stare at her, unafraid.

"Kill me? Sister, have you forgotten what kind of person I am? How could I have known these things if someone hadn't told me?"

Kathy faltered in her anger.

"I heard all this from my dear sister Elena. If it could reach my ears, I wonder how many people she has told..."

Laura watched with satisfaction as Kathy released her and stormed off, restoring peace to the area.

"Did you get it?"

She hid her smile and spoke coldly into the air.

"Of course."

Ned, who had been concealed, appeared beside her and handed her a set of keys, accompanied by a sneer.

"What are you laughing at?"

"Miss, among humans, you are considered beautiful, but truly foolish."

Laura looked at him in disbelief.

"What did you say?"

Ned had walked through the fence and crouched beside her, toying with the wolf like a dog, taming it effortlessly.

In the moonlight, from a distance, they might have looked like a harmonious man and dog.

Little did they know that neither was truly human or canine, and either could easily end a life.

Thinking of this, Laura's body couldn't help but tremble.

She didn't fully understand the contract, nor could she be certain that just because she had become someone's master, she wouldn't be killed.

But she needed revenge, and that meant rising above her fears.

"A servant, is he allowed to call his master foolish? I've never read that in any book."

Laura maintained her composure.

"I can freely enter and exit anywhere, yet you still asked me to get the keys."

Ned suddenly stood up, his cold gaze like a sharp blade piercing through the fence and straight toward her face.

The wolf rubbed against his leg, whimpering nervously.

"Laura Legoza, you don't trust me."

With those words, the same frigid wind that had surrounded her on the day of the ritual engulfed her again.

Her already tattered clothes were blown open by the wind, and she was blinded by it, shivering in the biting cold. The wolf's howl filled her ears again, just like the day of her coming-of-age ceremony when she had first awakened in this cage.

The numbness in her wound and emotions was fully awakened in this moment.

She was suddenly overwhelmed by a sense of helplessness.

It wasn't that she wasn't in pain before, but her brain's self-protection mechanism had blocked it out.

Fear swirled around her like a vortex, threatening to consume her whole.

"Ned...!"

Amid the extreme agony, it was the only name she could call out.

"Miss, open your eyes."

Immediately after calling out his name, a warm breath whispered in her ear, and the demon's cloak wrapped around her, shielding her from the cold and danger.

"Laura, Laura... look at me."

She was forced to look up, her face streaked with tears, her small hands clutching his robe as she stared at him wide-eyed.

"Ned Naumes, as long as the contract stands, you are not to leave my side for a moment!"

This was the most satisfactory expression on her face since the conclusion of the contract, which made Ned satisfied.

He wiped away the tears with his hand and bent down to the fragile white neck, leaving a bloodstain on the wolf's tooth.

"Your body is so sweet, I will be here until it can't bear to be swallowed."

I just want Miss to know that you have no one to rely on but me.

Laura Legoza, without me, you are like ants, and you can't do anything.

The words of the ghost, like mental control, devastated Laura's will.

But Ned was suddenly grabbed by the neck and pushed away from her, with blood gushing out of his neck, but she didn't feel it.

Don't try to play games with me, Ned.

Laura still held his neck, her reddened eyes appearing pitiful, but her words were full of ruthlessness.

I won't be destroyed so easily, let you eat a soulless shell.

Ned let her hold him and looked at her with amusement.

This woman is really different.

"If you want to get paid in advance, don't even think about it."

"I am no longer the little daughter of the noble Legoza family. I am Laura, the owner of Ned Naumes. Before I complete my revenge, you had better not have any evil intentions."

Ned couldn't help but lick his back teeth.

It's been too long. I haven't met such a human being for a long time.

In the past, he would casually do a few tasks for his master, cast some illusions, and say some words to them, and they would collapse mentally and no longer be able to give orders, and then they would be eaten up.

This is a trap set by the demonic werewolves. Other alien races fear them precisely because they do not have such a strong sense of contractual obligations, and will always lure their hosts into defeat.

Laura, who seemed to be the easiest to control, did not fall into this trap.

The hurricane stopped and everything was quiet.

The handsome man lowered his eyes, took Laura's hand that was squeezing his, and placed it on his lips to give a light kiss.

"As you wish."

This was the first time Laura was kissed by a man other than her fiance.

Even though she didn't feel anything in her heart, her body still wasn't used to this strange touch and slightly trembled.

"Next time, we'll do it tomorrow night.”
