ISOLDE

We reached my chamber, and I went straight to my sister.

Elsa was lying on my bed, pale and weak, while Daze sat beside her. His eyes followed every breath she took, his hand resting protectively over hers.

He had carried her here last night. I still remember how fast my heart had raced when he brought her in his arms, her body limp, her eyes closed. I’d asked what happened, but all he said was that she fell.

She fell?

From where? How?

No answer that made sense came from either of them.

All I knew was that her breath was shallow, and her pulse faint. I did everything I could... herbs, warmth, chants until finally, she started breathing properly again.

Now, standing beside her, I touched her hand gently. “How are you feeling now?”

Daze immediately stood and stepped aside so I could get closer. He bowed slightly, always respectful, though his eyes never left Elsa’s face.

“I’m fine, Sister,” Elsa whispered, her voice was small. She tried to smile, but it barely reached her eyes.

FINNIANEverything that happened yesterday still burned in my head like fire I couldn’t put out. I didn’t think. I didn’t breathe. I only ran straight into the dungeon like a mad wolf when I heard what James did.He tried to rape Isolde. The moment I saw him, I lost control. I didn’t think of his title or his crown. I beat the hell out of him until his blood touched the stone floor. One of his eyes had swollen so badly that he could barely open it. He fought back, of course, he was an Alpha King but that didn’t stop me. I wanted him to feel pain, the kind that made him wish he had never been born. His mistress wasn’t enough to keep him satisfied, and yet he dared to lay his filthy hands on her. On my Isolde.Mine.No one, no one would ever hurt her again. Not even Rowan. And now, another mess. The maid who served her was dead. Poison. No trace left behind. The question that clawed at my mind was, who was bold enough to do that at the feast? Who hated her enough to risk death just to

ISOLDEThe morning light crept into the room slowly, brushing across my skin like a soft hand that wasn’t ready to wake me yet. My body ached in every corner, sweet pain that reminded me of the night before. I turned to my side, reaching for him, but found nothing except the cool sheets.A quiet sound came from the bathroom door, then it opened. My breath caught. Rowan stepped out, water dripping down his chest, his hair wet and sticking to his forehead, his lips glistening. The steam behind him rolled out like mist following its master. His eyes found mine and softened in a way that didn’t belong to the man everyone feared. He walked over, slow and calm like a wolf circling its prey, and bent down beside me.“Morning, my queen.”The words brushed against my lips as he kissed me, gentle but firm enough to steal my breath. My cheeks burned. I almost laughed, it felt so strange seeing him act like a husband who actually cared.“Get up and take your bath,” he said, brushing a damp finger

  • Bound To The Alpha King's Brother    Chapter 107: The Weight Between Us

ISOLDEI stepped out of the bath, my body still trembling from everything that had happened. The night air brushed my skin as I slipped into a plain nightdress and tied the rope at my chest. The soft fabric clung to me as I walked back into his chamber.Rowan sat at his desk, his shoulders stiff, his eyes lowered to a parchment only he understood. The candlelight caught the edge of his jaw, sharp and unreadable. He didn’t look at me.I didn’t speak. The silence between us was heavy and thick like smoke. I moved toward the mirror, trying to dry my hair, pretending his presence didn’t burn at the edge of my reflection. He kept reading. The sound of pages turning was the only thing alive in the room. For a moment, I wondered if I had gone too far earlier. Maybe I should have thanked him more… or said less. He had saved me, after all. I could still feel the echo of his voice when he ordered the guards. That voice always carried weight. Even when he was gentle, it sounded like a command.I

ISOLDEBefore I could think, Rowan scooped me up in his arms. My breath hitched, my fingers clutching his royal robe to steady myself. His warmth surrounded me, yet my heart raced with unease. The guards at the gate bowed immediately.“Your Highness! Your Highness!” they chorused.“Make sure Arthur doesn’t escape from the dungeon,” Rowan ordered, his voice sharp and heavy with authority.“Yes, Your Highness!” they all echoed. He started to walk, then stopped midway and turned his head slightly, his eyes gleaming like the edge of a blade. “And I don’t want anyone to come near my chamber. Is that clear?”“Yes, Your Highness!”Satisfied, he strode off toward his chamber, his arms tightening around me as if I weighed nothing. The strong scent of his aura surrounded me... thick, warm, and dangerous. My eyes stayed locked on him the entire way, his jaw tight, his eyes darker than the night around us.“I may not concentrate if you keep staring at me like that, Isolde,” he muttered, his voice

ISOLDEHer hands shook so badly that she almost dropped the cup. Something wasn’t right. Rowan had sensed it too, I could see it in his eyes, sharp and dark as the night sky.“I said…”Rowan's voice stern, her knees hitting the floor at the weight of his voice, “You should drink it… before I ask my guard to help you.”She was crying now, her face wet with fear. My heart thudded. If she couldn’t even drink it herself… how was I supposed to?Poison. My eyes shot up, and before I could speak, Elsa’s eyes turned dark, her wolf coming forward. “How dare you?” she snapped, her voice cutting through the room like thunder. “How dare you poison her drink and bring it to her?”The maid collapsed in tears. “I-I’m sorry, your highness! I didn’t mean to! Please, forgive me! It’s a mistake... it will never happen again!”Rowan leaned forward in his chair, his face void of emotion. “Sure,” he said coldly, nodding once. “It won’t.”The entire venue went still. Even the air stopped moving. No one dared

  • Bound To The Alpha King's Brother    Chapter 104: The Jealous King

ISOLDEI forced my gaze away from him, pretending to focus on the other Kings stepping out of their tents. They came one after another, dressed in fine wolf-stitched robes, their guards trailing behind with boxes and trays filled with gifts for the Alpha King. The air smelled of dominance and pride, thick enough to choke on.Rowan’s hand caught mine again, his fingers rough yet warm. Before I could speak, he lifted my hand to his lips and pressed a slow kiss against my skin.“R-Rowan,” I stammered, pulling slightly, “can we at least concentrate on them... please?”His golden eyes lingered on me, burning, deciding whether to listen or not.And thank the Moon, he nodded. He released me and turned back to the gathering, his posture cold and powerful. King Arthur was the first to step forward, his cloak dragging over the stones as he bowed deeply.“May you live long, King Rowan,” he said, his voice echoing across the feast ground. The wolves cheered, their howls rising in honor of their k
