EVE

A New Day

Queen Isolde had asked me to fetch her tea from the royal kitchen. She never knew that most of her food was prepared there, that it came from the same place the wolves served the rest of the palace. She believed it was brought specially, only for her but that was better. Safer.

I never complained. I would fetch her tea a thousand times if it meant being near her.

I adored her. Not only for her beauty, not only for her crown, but for the way she carried her pain.

She had suffered more than most in this palace, yet her back was always straight, her voice always steady, her gaze always brave.

I prayed the Moon Goddess would give her peace one day. Happiness. A love that would truly be hers. And maybe… free her from the harsh rule of our Alpha King, King Rowan.

Sometimes, watching her, I wished I had been born a witch instead of a wolf. The way she raised her hands, whispering incantations that danced like sparks in the air, always left me breathless.

ISOLDEBlood.I froze the moment I saw it, it was dark, fresh blood running down Velin’s neck, painting her skin red. My chest tightened, and the strength in my legs gave out. She staggered backward, swaying, almost falling but Rowan caught her before she hit the floor. My breath hitched. Did I do that?My hands began to tremble as I stared at the faint traces of black under my nails. Oh no. No, no… what was wrong with me?“What did you do to her?” Rowan’s voice sliced through the air like a whip. He was checking her neck, his fingers brushing her skin, his eyes dark with anger. Velin whimpered, pressing her body closer to his chest, pretending she couldn’t speak.“Rowan…” My voice cracked. “I-I didn’t...”“Do nothing?!” His voice deepened, dangerous. Before I could say anything more, Finnian stormed in. His boots hit the marble with heavy thuds, and when his eyes fell on Velin bleeding in Rowan’s arms, his jaw clenched.I shook my head, backing away slightly. “No-no. I didn’t do any

ISOLDEIt had been a week since my parents left, and no matter how much I tried to focus on anything else, I couldn’t stop thinking about Rowan.Something about him had changed. Maybe it was me hoping, maybe it was real, but lately he had been… different. Gentler. More attentive. Trying to make me feel at home again. Trying to remind me of the man I once loved. But then the question always came crawling back, sharp as a blade.'Will you accept him back?'And every time, I shook my head because I didn’t know. I didn’t know if this new version of him was real or just another illusion. I didn’t know if I could trust him again, not after everything he had done. I needed to be sure. Truly sure.GBAM!The double wooden doors of Rowan’s chamber flew open with a thunderous crack, slamming against the wall. My heart jumped into my throat. I grabbed my royal black top and pulled it over my half-naked chest, startled.“Your Highness, I told you.. His Majesty isn’t inside,” one of the guards pant

FINNIANShe walked toward me with fire in her eyes, and before I could even move, her palm met my cheek, hard. My head turned to the side.“I didn’t come here so you could embarrass me!” she yelled, her voice trembling with anger and pain. “I came because I missed you!”I chuckled bitterly, rubbing the sting on my face. “Really? You missed me, or you just needed someone to fill your time again?” My voice dropped, colder. “Rowan hurt you again, right? Because that’s the only time you come running to me.”Her lips parted. “What are you saying?! I couldn’t come because there was no way I could. But tonight, Rowan went out with my parents. They said they wouldn’t be back until morning. Even Elsa went with them. I finally had a chance to sneak out and this is how you treat me?”I knew she would say that. She always had a reason.“You always have a reason,” I muttered, stepping back. “If it wasn’t him, it was your title. If not that, it was your fear. There’s always something keeping you aw

  • Bound To The Alpha King's Brother    Chapter 60: You Shouldn't Be Here

FINNIAN My brother’s scheme worked.Perfectly.I didn’t return to the palace until the night dragged its claws across the sky. The moon was cold and distant, like she was laughing at me. I had been sent to deliver that stupid letter and ended up staying at King James’s pack for hours longer than planned. He even offered to let me rest there for the night, but I refused. I was too angry. Too restless.I just wanted distance from him, from her, from everything. The ride back was long and heavy, and the air reeked of iron before I even made it through the border. Two wolves attacked me in the forest, they were rogues, maybe spies. I didn’t care who they were. I ripped them apart before they could even land a second strike. Their blood stained my hands and arms, dripping down to my sword until the blade was no longer silver. When I finally reached my chamber, I threw my weapon aside and stood there breathing hard, my chest rising and falling with rage that refused to die. I could stil

FINNIAN I was summoned by my brother the next morning.I frowned, wondering what the hell he wanted from me again. I thought he already had everything... his throne, his power, and the woman he wouldn’t stop flaunting in my face. The guards outside his chamber bowed when I stepped in. The air smelled of burnt cedar and something soft… familiar. My eyes moved around the room before landing on the empty side of the bed. No sign of her. For a brief, stupid second, I thought maybe she hadn’t slept here. But I was wrong. The bathroom door opened, and there she was, wrapped in nothing but a towel, water still glistening on her skin like she’d been carved from temptation itself. Isolde. Her gaze caught mine. She didn’t look away.Something inside me shifted, it was sharp, wrong, and hungry. Her lips parted slightly, and that was when I felt it, the dark aura pressing against my neck like a blade. My brother’s aura. Rowan’s.“I called you, Finnian. Not her,” his voice was cold, steady, too

FINNIAN My breath shortened, dragging rough against my throat, like claws raking from the inside. My chest rose and fell too fast, each inhale sharper than the last.I didn’t think Isolde’s eyes could widen more than they already had but gods, they did. Her lashes trembled. Her lips parted like she was about to choke on a scream she couldn’t release. She became nervous and shaken. My heart throbbed at the sight, and I hated myself for letting Rowan put her through this.Elsa’s head tilted, a sly grin twitching on her mouth as she looked between me and Rowan. She coughed, impatient. “Your Highness...”Rowan’s jaw flexed before he smiled, cruel as always. “He thought he could get hold of a married woman simply because he could not find his mate.” He lifted Isolde’s hand again and pressed a kiss to her knuckles, slow and deliberate. My fingers curled so hard the tips ached.“Oh my…” Luna gasped, her voice dripping with pity. “Such a terrible fate. The Moon Goddess should at least look t
