EMILY’S POV.

“Don’t even try to lie to me, Emily, I have known you long enough to know when something is bothering you,” Veronica replied, looking at me intensely.

“Nothing is on my mind. I am fine,” I responded while wiping my hands dry.

“Is it about Alex, because if it is, you know you can talk to me,” I responded.

The mention of Alex, felt like she put a dagger through my heart and I could feel the intensity of the pain I had been trying so desperately to avoid and I started crying again.

Veronica walked up to me and started hugging me and patting my back.

“Is okay sweetie?” he whispered into my ears as I cried into her shoulders, “let it all out?”

I sobbed uncontrollably into her arms for what felt like forever. “I don't know if I would ever stop to feel this pain?” I sniffed and I lifted myself from her warm hug to look at her. “I don't know if this pain would ever go away, Veronica. It hurt too much,”
