He checked and reloaded the page close to ten times, and when it finally clicked that what he was seeing was real, he almost dropped his phone out of shock.

“What the actual heck?” He growled, the headache from earlier recurring.

Finn turned around in his sleep, but Lucien ignored him. His brain went busy, calculating how convenient it was that he, who had been bullied all his life, had arrived at Dravenmoor and had been underestimated, suddenly got his mother’s bill cleared.

Lucien didn’t believe his ears, and so seemed to be Maren and Elias who had all paused what they were doing and focused on him and Xavier. But wait, did Xavier really just say that? The words resounded over and over again in Lucien’s head, and hot trails of heat coursed through his body. It wasn’t just the words that was weird, the aftermath of it which was the weird sensation it evoked in him was way worse. Because how could he even explain the sudden excitement he got from being claimed verbally by Xavier? His thoughts abruptly came to a freezing halt as Xavier cleared his throat. “I didn’t mean it that way.” He declared, barely keeping eye contact with anyone. He suddenly found the tree in the short distance very interesting. “I meant that he had always been paired with me, why then should he suddenly be made to train with the new boy who should be coached by you instead?” This time, he looked at Maren as he was the one he directed the last sentence to. “Uh, okay.” Maren clea

The moment Elias’s sturdy hand met with his, the hairs on his nape stood up even more and it suddenly felt like he was being watched by ten people at once, but in reality it was just Xavier whose jaw had gone ten times harder. “Okay… enough discussions and lazying around. Let’s get right into the business of the day.” Maren’s voice broke them apart. Elias maintained a polite smile even as he broke the handshake with him. Maren moved closer to them, and his face seemed to do a rough job of remembering Elias. The moment he did, a small smile crept up his face. “Xavier and Lucien, here is Elias. He’s a transfer student who’s going to start training with us immediately.” He announced. Lucien nodded in understanding, but Xavier on the other hand mirrored the opposite of that response. Lucien studied him, and even with how hard he had always been to gauge people’s reaction, Xavier’s own seemed quite easy. He could immediately sense his distaste towards Maren’s announcement. “Why?” He

He almost didn’t believe that he managed to sleep even with what happened the night before. But the reason wasn’t so far fetched when he dreamt and saw himself and Xavier in an intimate position. Panting, he sat up on the bed and looked around thd room like one who was searching for a culprit. For the rest of the morning — even as he prepared for the day — all he saw and felt around him was Xavier. The ache and burn from the hear completely disappeared, and all that was left was thr remnant of the fear that the message he received last night dropped. Someone saw us. What could they be plotting right now? What exactly would their plan be with the information they just got? What if it got leaked to the school? And somehow as he made his way over to the classrooms where lectures would happen, something in him knew exactly where Xavier was. He didn’t know what it was, but he just knew that Xavier was on the training ground and he wasn’t very happy. He swallowed thickly and made his w

He felt it from when he was inside his dormitory. At first, he thought it was just the pent up anger in him, but the moment his wolf started to rumble deep within him, he just knew that something was very wrong. Then when the same wolf directed him to the healing spring side, he thought that he was in some kind of pain and being in the spring was what he wanted. He was on his feet before he even decided to make the decision to, his whole body tightened up as though a part of him was in pain. What he didn’t expect however was the person already in the spring before he got there. Lucien. He stood at the entrance, his hand still on the handle of the door and his jaw tight. His wolf started to run around in his head, howling and whining at the same time. He finally pushed the door open fully, taking in the full image of Lucien as he tipped his head in the water with his eyes barely open. His cheeks were flushed red, rosy under the moon light. Everything seemed… different abo

Finn was at his side immediately and the moment his hand made contact with Lucien’s skin, he flinched and moved away from his as though the touch burnt. Technically, there’s nothing Finn can do as Lucien is an omega and he is a Beta. “We need you to get you to the nurse now. This is very strange.” Finn said, standing to his full height with worry lining his face. “No.” Lucien grunted, shaking his head. He knew that he needed medical attention but even with the amount of pain wracking through him, he understood that he couldn’t allow that happen. “But you need it. You need to get checked.” Another bout of pain wracked through him and he let out a very shaky breath.Omega heat is unrare in Dravenmoor and his definitely should have been covered up with the kind of stress and rigorous training he had gone through in the past few days. And because of that, he was very certain that the nurse would take it as a special case, and he wasn’t ready for any diagnosis that would make him unf

“Just go up there and do your stuff, I don’t think you should look back or even give the crowd attention. Just do you.” Finn said.Lucien looked around him and immediately understood why Finn was saying all that he said. The endurance trial was just about to start and the students were already supporting Xavier. He swallowed down a lump that had formed in his throat and nodded at Finn then stepped away ftom him. The trial was happening at the lower castle corridor, and students were made to observe from designated pointe along the route. He cracked his knuckles, putting up a tough front as he waited for Maren to make the first call. He was a ball of nerves, but he also wasn’t about to show that to everyone, instead he focused more on telling himself that he would get this over with. “Warm up!” Maren ordered, and he immediately knew that he was saying they should run laps around the field. He forged ahead and even he could feel the diffrencs in his stance from when he was aspiring

"What's with the face? Dravenmoor's most intelligent.” Lucien looked up from his plate. Finn was staring at him from across the dining table, chin propped on his fist, the picture of concern and amusement at the same time. "I'm fine." "You look really bothered.” Lucien stared down at his pl

The field behind Dravenmoor's dodgeball didn't look like much on a regular day — stretch of open ground, tree line at the far end, sky too wide and too grey above it. Today it looked like a warzone. Fifty, maybe sixty students spread across the grass in training gear, some already mid-drill, other

“Detention!” Mr. Finrar's finger jabbed at the door like it had personally offended him. "Out! Detention room. Now!" Lucien went first. Xavier followed, releasing his collar like he was dropping something that bored him, brushing his shirt like the whole thing had been mildly inconvenient. The de

“Lucien Thorne.” Lucien sat across from Mrs. Aldric, hands flat on his thighs, back straight. He tapped his feet repeatedly on the floor. "Your mother was admitted three days ago." Mrs. Aldric slid a paper across the desk glancing at Lucien. "The hospital contacted us as her next listed instituti
