JAYCE BECKETT

An hour later, the car came to a halt in front of a high-rise building, and Renato killed the engine, turning to face me.

Fortunately, he had gotten his wound treated, in the backseat of his car about thirty minutes ago, and he had changed into a clean shirt. I wondered how his car could housed a lot of things like that. I guessed he had always been prepared for a day like today where he would need an emergency medical support and a change of clothes.

Renato reached forward, smoothing out the wrinkle between my eyebrows as I arched my eyebrows at him.

"Do you have anyone at home waiting for you?" He asked in that gentle voice that betrayed how criminal like he was looking earlier with blood seeping from his hand, soaking his shirt.

Renato still looked somewhat dangerous now which his white hair stained with blood, but he looked much more presentable than he was earlier when I found him in that room.

"Why...?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. "Why do you ask?"

I searched his

RENATO MARINO "You're... Hmmph..." He gasped, his hands found my collar, and he pulled me to him, his body pressed against mine, like we were one person.I let my hand slide down his back, sneaking my hand into his shirt, feeling his warm skin against my skin, my fingers trailing his hard muscles."You're an asshole. I hope you know that." Jayce groaned into my mouth, his words tickling my tongue as he greedily sucked on my tongue, just the way I loved it.I wanted more, kissing him alone won't do.I wished it was possible to eat him up and still have him. I wanted him swallow him whole, to have his skin pressed against my bare skin. To have us tangled together in my bed and stay that way forever. This was the very thing I'd feared. The reason I'd never dared to tread this path again after Aspen. I don't do love; I do possession. Obsession is my game, and once I've claimed someone, nothing— not even death—can extinguish the all-consuming fire that drives me to have them. Jayce was

RENATO MARINO I was furious with Jayce, but more than that, I was angry with myself for letting this shit get under my skin. Why should I care who he chose to spend his free time with? And why did Salvio have to rub it in my face that Jayce was with a girl at his place? When he didn't even know that the two of us had anything going on?I couldn't sit still at home. The thought of Jayce cuddling with anyone else but me sent me racing to my car, and before I knew it, I was driving here on autopilot. The images of what they might be doing together, and Jayce letting some fucking bimbo touch him, filled me with a fierce possessiveness. Was that why he hadn't replied to my message, asking him to come over to my villa? Was he too busy with his little plaything to even bother responding to me?I don't hurt women, but if I caught a glimpse of the fucking bitch anywhere near Jayce, I'd lose my temper and do the things I vowed never to do to any woman, I would do them all to her. The idea

  • Break Me Apart (MxM)   062. An unexpected visitor

JAYCE BECKETT I missed this. I fucking missed sitting in this chair, in this room that smells like roses and chocolate, holding Curtis' hand, and chatting softly with him as he slowly drifted off to sleep. I missed it so much that I was trembling with joy as I gently massaged his tiny hand, watching him struggle to stay awake, his eyelids fluttering in a losing battle against sleep."Uncle Cole said you're going to marry him? He said we're going to be family, really?" Curtis suddenly asked, his words making my eyes widen in shock. Curtis blinked a few times before his gaze finally settled on me. I was so caught up in the peaceful moment, watching him sleep, that I hadn't seen this question coming.I cleared my throat, attempting to mask my nervousness. "Did he really say that?" I asked, my voice a little too controlled. "Yes," Curtis replied, his words slurred from the remnants of sleep, his eyes still heavy from dozing off just fifty seconds ago. He sat up, his gaze locking on

  • Break Me Apart (MxM)   061. I'm your bitch, huh?

JAYCE BECKETT "Who's that?" Cole asked, staring at me with an expression I couldn't quite read. "Is everything okay?"Okay? Nothing about this is okay. I would much rather Renato was standing at my door instead of Salvio. I had no idea why Salvio would show up at my house uninvited. Unless... he'd figured out my identity and was here to harm me. Given Renato's injury from last night, it was possible Salvio thought I was involved."Um, it's just..." I swallowed hard, my hand reaching for the doorknob. "Please go wait for me; I'll be with you soon."Cole's silence was all the confirmation I needed. I took it as a sign that he'd finally understood the gravity of the situation. With a sense of trepidation, I reached for the doorknob, my hand hesitating for a moment before I made a move to step outside. But Cole's grip on my hand was like a vice, stopping me dead in my tracks. "Jayce!" he yelled, his voice laced with panic, his eyes flashing with terror as he took in the fear etched on

  • Break Me Apart (MxM)   060. What did he want?

JAYCE BECKETT The moment I ended the call with Chief Strand, all the pain I'd been carrying since earlier vanished, dissolving instantly as if it had never existed. Yet, my body betrayed the sudden relief. My head throbbed with unresolved strain, and my heart continued to pound furiously in my chest, as if protesting the lingering stress.I got under the shower, my teeth clenched tightly as the cold water hit my skin, cascading down my body. A soft grunt escaped my mouth as chief Strand's words hit me again."Renato Marino is really a damn animal." I gritted, slamming my hand against the wall and I bowed my head in shame. "How can a human involve himself in such an inhumane activity? Harvesting innocent people organs? Why? What for?" I let out a shaky breath, and my shoulders trembled as I forced my hands to stay pressed against the wall and not just ram my fist into the tiled wall. "How can I laid with such a man? How can I laid with a fucking devil?" I roared, my muscles contrac

  • Break Me Apart (MxM)   059. The blueprint

RENATO MARINO Marcelo jerked away from Nikola, yanking off his eye patch to reveal the ravaged eye that might never see again. His finger stabbed at the damaged eye, tears streaming down his good one. "I lost an eye that night because of him!" he snarled, his voice low and venomous, as he pointed a shaking finger at me. "It's all that bastard's fault!" he spat, the words dripping with accusation. "Your brother's fault!""No," I said, shaking my head as I firmly but calmly pushed Giovanni aside. "You lost your eye because you're a reckless idiot," I shot back, my tone even but laced with disdain. Even if Marcelo's accusations held some truth – and I still didn't know the full story – I knew him well enough to believe he'd likely provoked the situation himself. "You're a hot-headed bastard who never thinks before acting," I added, my words dripping with frustration. "If you'd used your brain, and not act like some spoilt brat, this wouldn't have happened to you.""What?" Marcelo's

RENATO MARINO "What does Sasha want?" Nikola asked, stopping what he was doing and turning to face me. I let out a deep grunt, knowing there was no use trying to hide what Sasha wanted me to do in exchange for my family's safety."He..." I trailed off at the sudden bang on the front door. My hand instinctively slid into my jacket, drawing my Sig Sauer from its holster as I flicked off the safety.I nodded at Nikola to stay out while I check what was going on out there, but stopped at the familiar murmur coming from the living room."Where's that fucker?" Giovanni yelled, his voice echoing through the space. I pulled back, letting out a deep breath. Nikola hadn't been joking when he said he'd informed his brothers. That fucking bastard.I shoved my gun back into its holster, shooting Nikola a hard look that clearly said I was disappointed – mainly because I'd wanted to keep this between us, sparing his brothers unnecessary worry."Dear daddy, I heard you're still alive and breathin

  • Break Me Apart (MxM)   057. I'm going to do it

RENATO MARINO The drive was in total silence, the only sound you could possibly hear was the soft hum of Nikola's car. My breathing was shallow, and my heartbeat felt almost nonexistent. I shifted in my seat, a low grunt escaping as discomfort set in. My wounds throbbed, but I resisted the urge to scratch them. I raised my hand to my hair, flexing my fingers as I raked them through the strands."Fucking do something about your hair, it's disgusting!" Jayce's words echoed in my mind, and I let out a dry, humorless huff. As I recalled his comment, I couldn't help but think about the state of my hair. This morning, staring at my reflection, I'd noticed the tangled mess staring back at me. The once-white color had dulled, overgrown with roots and now more of a reddish hue. I wondered why I'd chosen white in the first place. It had seemed like a bold statement then, but now it just looked like a mess. "Talk about making a wrong choice," I thought to myself, shaking my head.“Another

  • Break Me Apart (MxM)   056. A new task

JAYCE BECKETT A throbbing sensation consumed me at first, but as I began to register my surroundings, I became aware of a cool cloth on my forehead, the gentle softness of sheets beneath me, and the warmth of a blanket covering me. I slowly forced my eyes open to see that I was in my room. The last thing I remembered was rushing home after a frantic exit from Renato's Villa, feeling like my life was falling apart. I'd walked into my living room to find Cole hunched over his laptop, typing away furiously as he told me something about applying for a marriage license. But I'd been too overwhelmed to respond, and the next thing I knew, I was slumping to the floor, blacking out completely. Cole must have carried me to my room."That fucker." I groaned, rubbing my eyes.BEEP.BEEP.The jarring sound of my alarm blaring ripped through the air, prompting a harsh grunt from me. I lifted my hand, first removing the damp cloth from my forehead, and then reaching for the annoying alarm on the
