Chapter- 3

Averine

Dark, cold basement has always been my home.

No matter where I’d go, my solitude and pain were my companions in my lonely, tragic life.

Alpha Hayden brought me to his pack forcefully. I begged my father to kill me because death was a better punishment than being a s*x slave to the cruel alpha whose wolves had beaten me.

I was waiting for my ultimate fate.

To serve Alpha Hayden’s lust.

They had infused me with wolfsbane to make Kira weak and without her, it was more than a nightmare for me.

The doors burst open and I heard footsteps entering.

“I don’t know what our alpha had seen in a wolf like her. She is half human and barely has flesh on her body. I am sure she won’t survive the night. Our alpha is a beast in the bed.”

I heard those people mocking me but their latter words scared me more.

“Hey, get up!” They grabbed my arms and forcefully made me sit.

Their nails dug in my skin.

“Are you ready to please our alpha tonight, petty human?” The female guard smirked at me.

They uncuffed me and dragged me out of the basement. They gave me a bath in scented water and dressed me in flimsy clothes. The bruises were still on my body but my soul was dead.

The man I fell in love with, he abandoned me in merciless hands. Tears trickled down from my eyes.

“Is she the one he brought today?”

I heard a female voice which was full of radiance.

“Yes, Luna. She is illegitimate daughter of Alpha Gavin.” The other women there answered the woman and when those sharp eyes met mine through the mirror, they were full of anger, jealousy and menace.

“Do you really think you can win my husband?” She asked me.

“Trust me, I am here against my will. My own father sold me to your alpha and I’d still choose death over serving your mate.” I replied firmly because I had nothing to lose.

Her eyes darkened on my response.

In a swift moment, she grabbed my chin, her nails pierced in my skin but I refused to react.

“You have a fierce tongue but you won’t be able to speak with your pretty mouth after tonight.” She said with her lips pressed in a thin line.

Her words sent a chill down my spine. There was no way I could win against an Alpha who was the most powerful in our world. Everyone surrenders to him.

“Luna, we have received orders from the alpha to take this new girl to him. The ceremony is about to start.” The male guards interrupted her.

She took a step back and eyed me from top to bottom.

“Make sure she looks flawless, she is the main jewel of tonight.” She said in a tone which confused me.

She swayed out of the room while the guards surrounded me.

“Cover her face with a veil. Alpha doesn’t want anyone to look at her before the main event.” One of the guards ordered the maids and they didn’t waste any time to cover my face.

I was then pushed out of the room and led to my doom if I could say.

“Kira, please, let’s run away from here. No one will show mercy on us.” I begged my wolf.

But the betrayal of our mate had affected her deeply that she went silent, mourning the painful separation.

Soon, we entered in a big hall, soft music was playing and the room was filled with scents of powerful wolves. I could feel everyone’s gaze on me and it crept disgust in my heart how they lusted me.

“I see they have done a good job. She is looking absolutely breathtaking.

Alpha Hayden stood in front of me, I could see his lust filled gaze even through the flimsy veil.

“Don’t worry, little dove. I am not the one who’d claim you because…” He leaned closer and the proximity had frozen me, “I don’t take what is already tainted but it doesn’t mean I can’t make some huge profit with you.”

What did he mean?

“Gentlemen, as you already saw and many of you received the prize of this beautiful evening, the time has come to present the finest jewel of my treasure.”

Alpha Hayden’s voice silenced the commotion and I could see those lusty gazes turned to me.

“Alpha, can we see her face first? We’re sure that you’ll surprise us.” One of those men shouted and others howled.

“No, only the man who will pay the highest price for this beauty may see her face.” Hayden refused.

I was shivering like a dry leaf and I was finally able to realize that it was the secret auction of Alpha Hayden that I heard from my pack members where he sold sex slaves to the highest bidder.

It was more horrible than I imagined.

“The bid starts with twenty million.”

Hayden said proudly like he owned me.

“Thirty million.”

An excited male shouted.

“Fifty million.”

I closed my eyes to let the tears of humiliation and helplessness to flow.

“Eighty million!”

Someone shouted and others silenced.

“Congratulations, Alpha Damien, she is yours. Do you want to see her face now?”

The air echoed with applauds and hooting of males.

“I can’t wait.” I heard the voice of my owner who paid Alpha Hayden a hefty amount.

And then…

A deafening chorus of earth-shattering growls echoed in the peaceful air, sounded like a sinister melody replacing the soft music. It was swift and silent, if you blinked your eyes or not looking forward, you wouldn’t have seen the impact. In the next moment, a huge wolf knocked the man down who bought me and he fell on the ground lifeless.

I didn’t scream or react. It happened so fast.

Suddenly, huge wolves swarmed inside the hall, pouncing blindly at everyone. In a split of second, the hall broke into chaos, panicked screaming of the guests, cursing and counter attack of Alpha Hayden’s wolves, I didn’t see them. They were bigger than the biggest wolves. My eyes were zeroed on the dead bodies. The scene before me was a vivid nightmare, a reality twisted in the wake of violence.

“I hope I am not late, Alpha Hayden.”

I heard the voice which I’d never forget in my life. The man who stole my heart, claimed and marked me and then abandoned me.

He was standing in front of me between the heaps of dead bodies like a proud predator wearing a smirk.
