Chapter 16"Hello, sir, " Caitlyn greeted as she walked into her boss's office. The man was busy rearranging his books on his shelf when she walked in. He paused and turned to her. "Sit, Caitlyn, " He told her and turned his gaze back to his shelf. "What do you want? " He asked when Caitlyn remained silent. She cleared her throat a little and hesitated for a while before responding. "A favor, sir, " She finally said. The party was going to hold the next day which was a Saturday, but her boss already got her occupied for the day. Chapter 17"Why did you come, and why aren't you leaving yet? " Caitlyn asked him with a suspicious look in her eyes. Chapter 18"Nothing important," She stuttered, avoiding his piercing eyes. She truly hoped he hadn't heard everything she said. Her heart thumped hard against her chest."Well, I want to know what it was that made you come this close to me to say," He told her, his hand still gripping hers.Caitlyn realized they were only inches away from each other. Chapter 19"Martin. Son. You're here!" Madam Scarlett exclaimed in a happy voice as she rushed to meet her son. Martin stretched out his hands open with a smile plastered on his face. "My dear boy," Madam Scarlett smiled back as they embraced lovingly. Martin never liked to come home, but he knew he felt the happiest whenever he was home."How are you, mother?" He asked her with shining eyes. His eyes always had a way of showing happiness. Their hands still lingered on each other after their warm hug."I'm very well, son. I'm cooking!" Chapter 20"Can we leave now?" She asked as she shyly tucked her hair behind her ear after noticing that Martin wouldn't stop staring at her. He blinked rapidly and swallowed as he finally got a hold of himself. 'How can she be this beautiful?'"Yeah. Sure!" He stuttered and crossed over to the other side of the car and opened the door. Caitlyn, surprised, muttered a thank you and entered the car while Martin nodded and went back to the other door. He entered and Kickstarted the engine almost immediately. The drive to the venue was void of noise, except for the soft music playing from the speaker. Martin appeared to be focused on the road, but he was stealing glances at Caitlyn's exposed thighs. Chapter 23"Caitlyn?" Lawyer Bernard called as he pushed the door open and walked into Caitlyn's office. He had a file in his hand. "Yes, sir?"
