LOGINChapter 4
As soon as the sun began to rise, illuminating the mansion, Mark—or rather, Vlad—sent a short message to his lawyer, requesting that he meet him at the company. Today, his plans would finally be set in motion. He went to the bedroom and opened the wardrobe. He selected one of his finest suits, impeccable and classic, custom-made, like everything in his life. Standing before the mirror, he adjusted the jacket, arranged his white hair, and slipped on his polished shoes. Everything was flawless. Lastly, he put on the ring inherited from his mentor, an ancient symbol of wisdom, power, and secrets that had endured for centuries. “It’s time to begin,” he murmured. Vlad left the bedroom, each step echoing softly down the shadowed corridor, then descended the stairs. “Let’s go,” he said to the security guard waiting outside the house. The moment he set foot inside the company, Vlad once again became Mark Darkmoor. As he entered the secretaries’ office, his eyes found Elena, punctual as always—actually, early. She was organizing papers after sorting the correspondence. Mark smiled and greeted her. “Good morning, Miss Lancaster.” His smile was polite, but his eyes—dark and deep—examined every detail of her with almost predatory attention. Inside her mind, Elena heard a seductive whisper: “Did you manage to satisfy yourself last night?” She blushed, averting her gaze, as Mark headed into his office with the security guard. He entered the office and, as he sat down, Elena called through. “Yes.” “Sir,” she said, her voice trembling. “Your lawyer is on line two.” “Thank you.” Elena hung up the phone, still feeling that strange sensation of being seduced by his voice. Heat climbed up her spine. She blushed faintly, trying to push the thoughts away, when the other secretary appeared, distracting her for a moment. Meanwhile, Mark answered the call. “Sir, I’m arriving on the street by the company… it’s chaos.” Mark slowly turned his chair, his eyes scanning the street through the enormous office window. He watched a man step out of a car, holding a tire iron, about to attack a bus driver who, hands raised in a gesture of peace, was trying to talk. Mark’s eyes turned red for an instant, and the man, amid the turmoil, was hurled against a parked car nearby. A strange silence fell over the street. The bus driver and a few pedestrians exchanged confused looks before quickly returning to their vehicles, avoiding the motionless body sprawled over the hood. Mark watched as traffic gradually reorganized. “I’ll wait as long as you need,” he said calmly. --- Elena couldn’t stop thinking about her own mind. How far was she letting her thoughts go? And even more disturbing was that strange sensation, as if he knew exactly what she felt, the silent whisper in her mind: Did you manage to satisfy yourself last night? She shrank slightly in her chair, gripping the papers. She was embarrassed. A short while later, she saw the lawyer arrive. Elena took a deep breath, straightened herself, and stood up to greet him. “Good morning, sir.” “Good morning, I’m Julian, Mr. Darkmoor’s lawyer.” “This way, please,” she said, leading him to Mark’s office. The lawyer thanked her and followed. She opened the office door, guided him to the entrance, and let him go in. Before turning to leave, Elena felt Mark’s gaze cut through her like an electric current. She took a deep breath, trying to shake off the feeling, and left. --- “Julian, you know I only trust you,” Mark said. “Yes, sir. I’ll do everything to make it legal,” Julian replied. “Excellent. You have twenty-four hours.” “I’ll do it in less time, sir,” Julian answered confidently. They exchanged a brief nod and parted ways. As soon as Julian left, Mark leaned back in his chair, watching the door close. Shortly after, the security guard returned, resuming his post in the office like a shadow. Mark lifted his eyes and sighed. The rest of the day passed monotonously. Elena went out to take care of medical exams and arranged the final documents needed for the hiring process. As she walked through the clinic corridor and later through notary offices, Elena realized she couldn’t help wondering about the effect he had on her. A shiver ran along her arms just from remembering his gaze in the office, and for a few seconds, his presence seemed to follow her, invisible, with every step. At one point she looked back and sighed when she saw it wasn’t him, but strangers who didn’t even notice her. --- Mark’s mind was distant, immersed in his own thoughts. Even so, he maintained an almost supernatural attention during the meeting. The employees, however, felt the weight of his presence and stopped speaking, exchanging nervous glances among themselves. “You may continue, I’m listening,” Mark said, lifting his gaze slowly and deliberately. His voice reverberated through the room, and the employees resumed their presentation. At the end of the meeting, Mark stood and went to his office to get his jacket, calling it a day. In the limousine, as the driver navigated the quiet city streets, his mind inevitably returned to Elena. An intense desire burned beneath the iron control he kept over himself. He wanted to tear down every barrier between them, draw close to her, dominate her, and possess her completely. But he knew he had to wait. Patience was part of the game. He knew exactly when and how to act, keeping desire latent, ready to explode at the right moment. Upon arriving home, the staff said goodbye and left the mansion in deep silence. He paid them generously, but he liked being alone when he returned, letting himself be enveloped only by his own presence and the thoughts that occupied him. After a light dinner, he took a glass of wine and headed to the pool. He stayed there for several minutes. Then, a soft click of heels caught his attention. Marking each step, the sound drew closer, and he lifted his gaze. There stood Valkyrie, his twin sister, emerging from the shadows with the supernatural elegance that always accompanied her. Mark smiled faintly. “Valkyrie… it’s been a long time.” She approached, every curve of her body moving provocatively beneath the minimal dress she wore. But Vlad didn’t notice. They were siblings, and there had always been respect between them, since the days when they were no different, before they embraced the eternity that set them apart from humans. “Vlad, I missed you,” she said, stepping closer to kiss his cheek before sitting in a nearby chair. “When are you going to leave that old shell?” Her glance was filled with disgust and impatience. “Soon. Very soon,” he replied, maintaining his calm demeanor, as always. “Good. I want to invite you to my birthday party… oops, our party. It will be tomorrow night. There will be virgins, and you’ll be able to drink their blood and become who you once were again.” Vlad raised an eyebrow, a faint smile curving his lips. “I don’t mind being old, Valkyrie. I still know how to be seductive.” “I know, my dear,” she said with an amused smile. “But we’re twins. We need to maintain a certain contrast.”Chapter 54Vlad stood before the tall window, motionless like a statue. His dark eyes watched the shadowed garden.Elena entered the office."You’re different," she said, crossing her arms tightly. "Since Isolde left. You barely speak. You barely look at me."Vlad didn’t turn."Because now I know exactly what’s coming."She stopped beside him."And what do you intend to do?"He looked at her without blinking."Get you out of here. Today. Now."She frowned."What?""The mansion is no longer safe. He has already sensed you. Every wall, every stone, every drop of blood you spilled here is marked with your scent. Dracula is coming. And when he arrives, he won’t come alone."Elena felt her stomach tighten."So we run?"A bitter half-smile curved his lips."I don’t run, Elena. I never have. I will lure him somewhere else.""Where? The farm?"He nodded."Open ground. No civilians. Space to fight without destroying everything around us. And... it’s where it all began for me. The place where I
Chapter 53The next morning, Elena slowly opened her eyes. For a moment, she simply watched Vlad beside her, completely still, like a statue of dark beauty. She got out of bed and walked barefoot out of the room. She went downstairs, almost floating. The mansion was empty. Vlad had dismissed the staff that morning, giving her the space she needed to adapt. She entered the kitchen and went straight to the sink. She picked up a glass and filled it with water, a human habit that still grounded her. She brought the glass to her lips… and without realizing, she squeezed a little too hard, shattering it in her hand. She froze. She looked at her fingers, then at her palm. No cuts, nothing."Damn…" she murmured.Carefully, she gathered the shards and threw them away. She took a deep breath out of reflex and closed her eyes for a second. Then she smelled him. It came from the study. He was sitting there, reading an old book. He looked up as soon as she entered."Good morning.""I… broke a glas
Chapter 52Elena walked slowly, barefoot, feeling the cold floor beneath her feet. A sound bothered her, it seemed like… heartbeats. She stopped in the middle of the hallway, closing her eyes tightly."Stop…" she murmured, placing her hands on her head. "Stop… what is that smell?"The scent was so intense that she felt her fangs descend. When she opened her eyes again, they were red, and she knew exactly where the sound was coming from. The kitchen—someone was there… and alone. She started walking again and suddenly found herself at the kitchen door. One of the employees stood with his back turned, cutting something on the counter. He hummed softly while preparing something.Elena held the doorknob when she heard:"Elena."Her body went rigid—it was Vlad’s voice.Vlad was leaning against the wall beside the door, watching."Go back," he said calmly. "Now."She trembled."I… I can’t…"The employee turned his head slightly, confused."Is someone there?"Elena took another step.Vlad app
Chapter 51Elena’s body went completely still in Vlad’s arms. Her heart, which had been beating weakly and irregularly, stopped altogether.Vlad squeezed his eyes shut, and tears of blood ran down his face. Valkyria and Adrian approached slowly. Then it happened—they heard the first heartbeat. She suddenly inhaled. Her skin, pale from blood loss, lost the last trace of human color. She felt her fangs break through her gums. She opened her eyes—they were light red, like rubies.Elena blinked slowly, confused. Suddenly, she heard very loud sounds: the wind, the crackling of the fireplace, the beating hearts of Valkyria and Adrian—they sounded like drums. Everything was too loud. Too much."Vlad..."He held her face with both hands, gently brushing his thumbs over her cheekbones."I’m here. I’m here, my love."Elena tried to sit up, but her body still wouldn’t obey."It hurts..." she murmured, placing her hands on her head. "Everything hurts... and I... I feel hungry."Her fangs lengthen
Chapter 50Vlad walked through the forest like a shadow among shadows. The spell ran through his veins, making everything sharper. The trail narrowed, giving way to a natural stone passage covered in moss and filled with flowers.Hundreds of them. The scent was sweet, sickening, laced with something chemical that would make any human drop to their knees within seconds—hallucinating, paralyzed, or falling into a deep sleep. A classic pack trap for hunters or human intruders.Vlad stopped at the entrance of the passage. He tilted his head and inhaled deeply. The smell was strong enough to irritate even his vampiric senses. He laughed softly. He crossed the passage. The sky was beginning to brighten. Ahead, among the more spaced trees, stood an old structure.Gray stone covered with black ivy. It was not recent. It was old. Perhaps as old as he was.Vlad slowed his pace.On the path leading to the house, figures began to emerge from the shadows of the trees.Men.At least a dozen.Partia
Chapter 49The wind began to blow hard. The moonlight simply disappeared. Suddenly the room darkened, the lights going out for a few seconds. The flames in the fireplace trembled.A black blur, larger than any natural shadow, crossed the window in a second, with wings that beat once before folding. The giant bat landed on the wooden floor, spun around itself in a furious whirlwind, and in less than a second Vlad was standing in the center of the room in his human form. His long coat vibrated with the sudden movement of the transformation, and his red eyes glowed like embers in the dark.He saw his sister leaning against the railing, a silver arrow lodged in her side and pain written across her face. He looked at Adrian, who was also injured. He crouched beside Valkiria, touching her face gently as he assessed the severity of the silver in her body."Valkiria..." he said in a low voice. She slowly opened her eyes, forcing a smile despite the pain."You arrived... early... brother."Vla
Chapter 20Elena arrived at the company almost at a run, her heels striking the marble floor in a hurried rhythm. She passed through the revolving door without even properly looking at the security guard, murmuring a “good morning” that sounded more like an apology to the universe. She quickened he
Chapter 21Elena’s feelings were completely confused. At first, she mourned Mark’s death, but being honest with herself, it was as if… she knew it was madness to think that way, yet something in her mind insisted on the truth: Mark seemed to be a younger version of Vlad. She couldn’t explain why, b
Chapter 18He closed his eyes and, from her entrance to her clitoris, dragged his tongue in one long lick, collecting her taste completely. She closed her legs around his head, moaning again.Vlad groaned against her skin, a deep, animal sound that reverberated straight into her swollen clitoris. H
Chapter 19The dogs were standing at the entrance to the kitchen, growling low, their teeth bared.Vlad stopped with his arms crossed, his body motionless like a statue. He didn’t need to see to know.“Leave,” he said, his voice low. “Or I’ll come after you.”Silence.Then a faint creak came from t
