Children of the Cauldron: Book One of An Domhan

Sophia Buck leaned lazily against the door of room 1808 in the Diamond Nightclub, playing with her phone with a somewhat cynical expression on her face.

The door was slightly ajar, and the sounds of tearing fabric and a woman’s coquettish voice floated through the gap.

“Vince, wait. Stop it.”

“You little seductress. You’re going to leave after teasing me like that?”

“Well, do you love me or Sophia?”

“Do you even need to ask? Of course I love you, not that country bumpkin. She’s not nearly as young and fair as you are.”

“But you're getting engaged to her tomorrow.”

Sophia’s lips twisted in disdain as she listened to the conversation.

Her half-sister, Sharon Buck, and her fiancé, Vincent Baxter, were talking inside. Vincent was going to propose to her tomorrow.

It looked like they didn’t care about her at all!

If they wanted to be together so badly, why did they bring her back from the countryside to witness this sordid drama?

Did they think she would be upset or something?

She put her phone in her pocket and went straight to the nearby bathroom. In no time, she returned with a pail of water.

She went to the room and loudly kicked the door open.

The noise frightened the couple in bed. They looked over in a panic and quickly searched for something to cover themselves with.

But the two of them had just been intimate, and the sheets had long been kicked under the bed. They were barely dressed, and couldn’t figure out how to cover themselves.

Sophia's expression was solemn and her gaze was ice-cold. She threw the pail of cold water at them without a word.

Splash!

A pail of filthy, muddy water poured all over them.

The couple now looked like a pair of drowned rats pulled out of a sewer. They were covered in filth and a terrible smell.

“Ah!”

Sharon screamed and buried herself in Vincent’s arms.

He pulled her close, but he was still bewildered.

It took him a while to recover and push Sharon away. Flustered, he turned to Sophia. "Sophia, let me explain."

Sophia ignored him. She threw the pail to the ground, calmly took out her phone, and started recording. "How exciting. Should I start streaming this?"

Sharon rushed at her like a maniac. "Are you insane?"

Sophia pushed her away and looked at her indifferently. "Didn’t you want me to see this?"

Vincent explained in a hurry, "Sophia, it's not like that. She seduced me."

Sophia looked at him disdainfully. "Birds of a feather!"

Sharon frowned and said plaintively, "Vince, why are you saying that about me?"

Vincent just looked at Sophia. "I'm sorry, dear. I just had a bit too much to drink."

As he said that, he picked up his clothes and tried to put them on.

Sophia sneered, "The engagement ceremony tomorrow is canceled. You two need to explain this to both your families. Otherwise, I'll send this video to them."

With that, she turned and walked away.

Sharon was terrified as she thought about what would happen if her parents found out about this.

She pushed Vincent. "Go and get the phone."

Vincent had also realized the urgency of the situation and quickly put his clothes on before chasing after her.

Sophia could not be bothered to deal with those two. They had no shame, but she stil cared about her reputation.

She turned off her phone and went towards a nearby bathroom.

She was worried she would be discovered, so she went straight into one of the stalls in the men's bathroom. She thought it would just be a temporary hideout, but to her surprise, before she could close the door, an unfamiliar man squeezed into the stall.

The man was tall, and moved incredibly fast!

Sophia was startled, but quickly regained her composure. After all, she had entered the men's restroom first, right? Many other stalls were available. Did he really have to squeeze in with her?

"Who are you? Get out!"

But as soon as she spoke, the man covered her mouth.
