CHAPTER 2

Kian

“Kian, can you hear me? We are moving today,” my father's voice reached my ears.

“I know, Dad. It's already surprising that you have gotten married. And Lady Lila loves you, just as you love her.”

I stood up from the ground, grabbed the used disposable plate, and threw it into the trash.

I glanced around the house. There were so many memories of us here, memories that were precious to me. While I was lost in my thoughts, I suddenly felt a shake, which snapped me out of them.

I looked up and saw my father standing there.

“Are you okay, Kian? I know it must be very shocking news for you that I am in love with another woman instead of your mother.”

My father tried to hide his face when he said that, but I knew he was crying.

My mother died from an illness when I was a kid, so I don't remember her face. But we have her photos at home, so I know what she looked like.

Ever since Mom died, my father had never looked at another woman. He had always been alone, but he devoted all his attention to me and raised me so well.

So why would I feel bad now that he has finally found someone he loves, and that person loves him too?

I stepped forward and hugged my father.

“Dad, don't say things like that. It doesn't suit you. My dad is the sweetest, so you should only talk sweetly. When you say something sad, I feel sad too. And I am happy that you have someone. But I really don't want to move in with you at Lady Lila's house,” I complained as I broke the hug.

Since they were married now, Lady Lila wanted the two of them to live together, but she had also asked me to move in with them.

I didn't know much about her. But from what I knew, she was a businesswoman, and she had a son who handled all of her businesses. They were big-shot people, while we were just ordinary people.

“Kian, how can I leave you alone here and move in there? I would never do something like that. Since you have been interested in acting since childhood, I will tell Lila to do something.”

I quickly grabbed my dad's hand.

“No, please, Dad. Don't tell her, because I don't want to build my career through connections. It should be based on my acting skills.”

Dad agreed not to ask Lady Lila for help, and that was good.

Things were going to change in our lives, I guess. And since my father was happy, I was happy too.

My father and I packed all our things, and the moment we finished and left the house, a car was waiting for us. It had been sent by Lila, of course.

We both got in. I took a deep breath after getting inside and looked out at the road while thinking about everything. I was lost in my thoughts when the car suddenly stopped, and a huge bungalow appeared in front of us.

When we got out of the car, a man wearing a black suit was waiting for us at the gate. He took our luggage and handed it over to another man.

“I was waiting for both of you. Madam and the young master are also waiting for you.”

He took us inside through the main entrance. In the living room, many expensive things were displayed, and even the sofas looked huge. Two people were sitting on one of them.

My eyes went to them.

A woman was wearing a tight black suit that showed off her lean figure. Her black hair was tied up on top of her head. She was wearing makeup, but she still looked very pretty. Seeing me, she stood up from the sofa. I noticed the sharp high heels on her feet as she walked toward me with a smile.

“You must be Kian? Oh my, you are such a cute boy.” She smiled as she said that.

I smiled back and bowed to her. That's when two more people stood up from the sofa and stood right beside her.

My eyes went to her right side.

A guy was standing there, wearing a black shirt with the buttons open around his chest and a black coat over it. His body was huge, and standing beside his mother, he looked incredibly tall.

His face was dangerously handsome, like he could be the hero of any movie. His hair was black, and his eyes were red.

And I was even shorter than Lady Lila. No matter how much I ate or how much I hit the gym, my body just couldn't gain weight, so it wasn't really a problem.
