Scarlett's POV
I slept off on the couch, but I woke up in my bed. I yawned , stretched, and rolled all over the bed. I was insanely tired from doing nothing. I yawned and stretched again. I scrolled on my phone to see that nothing exciting was happening with me. I had my bath, and I brushed my teeth. I had never seen Franklin ever brushing, despite the amount of brushes he had, and his mouth never smelled bad. Whoever set this place up had done him a huge favour. My theory was that it's a vacation home for someone living in the East or West. I strolled outside the room in new clothes. I was looking like a boy again, ready to head back to the Academy. I could already smell what Franklin was doing. I liked the sight of it even better. The apron dangled over his body as he cooked food. “Are you going to keep peeking from over there, or will you come here and sit?” Franklin asked without looking at me. “Good morning.” I greeted, walking towards him gently. “How did you sleep?” He asked, still not looking at me. I wanted him to look at me badly. “I slept well.” I shrugged. “You?” “I don't sleep.” He answered with a final tone. He wasn't interested in talking about it, and there's no way I'd let us depart on bad terms because I can't keep my curiosity to myself. “What are you cooking?” I asked. “Smells delicious.” “Don't ask me how, but buffalo wings, the cornbread is almost ready.” “I knew it!” I yelped, kicking my feet in the air. I kept giggling. Franklin still hadn't looked at me. It was like he was avoiding my eyes. “Franklin, please look at me.” I begged. My breathing became uneven, and I was really bothered. Slowly, Franklin raised his head to look at me. Our eyes met, and I could finally heave a sigh of relief. “Do you hate me?” I asked. Franklin scoffed, “why would you ask that?” “Just answer the question.” I snapped gently. “I could hate the whole world, but I'd never be able to hate you.” Franklin said casually. “Who the fuck hates beauty?” I blushed again. He was good at casually making my body tremble. It's definitely something I'd love to get used to. While we ate, Franklin was awfully quiet. Everytime I tried to bring up a conversation, he'd respond dryly, and there'd be silence again. He was being weird, and I couldn't place my hand on why. My phone rang, and my eyes went to Franklin before I focused on my phone. It was Zion. “Yeah?” I picked the call up immediately. “Where the fuck are you? They want to present y'all to the Academy in an hour.” Zion asked. “I'm on my way back.” I responded, wiping my mouth clean with tissue as I was already done eating. “And yeah, Thane has been quite busy.” “Don't tell me he's gathering information about me.” I hissed. “He's not.” Zion said. “The king is at the Academy, so he's organizing like a week of fun activities with the other Alphas -in- training.” “What's the King doing at the Academy?” I asked, looking at Franklin. His eyeballs widened , and I shrugged. I was uncertain of what his intentions were. “They said he's on an official assignment, but who really knows with these Monarchs?” Zion asked. “And my other problem?” I asked. “You might not like it, but I might have a solution.” Zion said. “Which is?” “Let's swap rooms for a while?” Zion asked. “My roommate is…” I zoned out at that point, because there's no way I'd stay with anyone else. As much as I hated the situation with Thane, I already knew the way he moved. I could easily predict his next step, and I'd not put myself through the stress of learning a new person's. “I'll figure it out.” I sighed, ending the call. “If you don't want to leave the room, let the other guy leave then.” Franklin said, and it gave me a very strong idea. “That might just work.” I shrugged. I dropped my plates in the kitchen, and then paced round the house. Franklin walked up to me, and then went on a knee. I was confused at first, and I shook my head as if trying to ask what he was doing. “What are you doing?” I finally voiced out. “Get on my back, and I'll take you to the Academy.” Franklin said, and I heaved a sigh of relief. I hopped on his back, and held on tight to him. “Tighter.” He said, and I literally held my arms just to make sure it was tight enough. Franklin opened the door, and held me as close as he could, however small I was. The next thing he did was to jump. I almost felt my heart escape through my mouth. I realized why he wanted me to hold on tight. He kept jumping from tree to tree, and then at some point, he jumped to the ground, and started running. There's no way I stood a chance against him last night. He purposely let me win. He gently dropped me when we got close to the academy. I gasped for air, before I could finally breathe. It took me a minute to finally regain my total consciousness. Franklin laughed at me the whole time. “You're mean.” I muttered, folding my arms. He only laughed harder. “You'll be fine.” I hugged him, and he gently caressed my hair. I tightened my hands around his body, and I finally heard his heartbeat for the first time. It was way faster than the usual human heartbeat. Franklin watched me leave, and when I got into the Academy, he was gone. I headed straight for the Registrar's office to enact my plan to get Thane in another room for a while. I was almost at his office when someone pulled me aggressively by the arm, and then pushed me into a room. The door slammed almost immediately. I was about to get very defensive when I saw who had pulled me in. “Alpha Harry.” I hissed as he smirked.Franklin's POV I barely held on to my consciousness after stabbing myself with a sharp stick. I wasn't sure what happened after. The next morning, I checked every part of the forest just to be sure I didn't kill Scarlett. When I was done searching, I lurked close to the Academy, but she didn't show up. Not once did I see her all through the hours I spent there. I eventually gave up, and made my way back to the house. Why did I even think she'd understand anything about me in the first place? Why would she come back after all I had put her through? I could have killed her. “Why didn't she listen to me?!?” I blurted out my thoughts. “If she had just left the numerous times I begged her to, we definitely wouldn't be having this problem.” I hissed, kicking a whole tree to the ground. I looked down at the roots, and it only fell easily because it had been hurt before. I kept pacing round the room, and no matter the amount of things I tried, I couldn't get Scarlett off my mind. She w
Scarlett's POV I was troubled by what I had probably just discovered. Franklin could be an illegitimate child, or worse still, his father could be the one that cursed him. The only question was why? And which of my thoughts was right. I parted ways with Michelle, and when I walked into the room, my phone rang. I suddenly remembered how Alpha Harry had threatened to do some harm if I didn't show up at his lodge. It was Michelle calling. Thane wasn't in the room, and my best guess was that he was having an after party with the officials. Afterall, he organised all the events that happened for the whole four days. “Girl, I just watched the video you sent me.” She said, with her mouth still wide open. “He was already undressing.”“Just make sure you keep it safe for me.” I chuckled dryly, slumping into my bed. “I will.” Michelle said, rolling her eyes. “Your mom came by today again.” She muttered, and my eyeballs widened. “To do what?!” I asked, almost snapping at Michelle. “Beg me
Scarlett's POV It was already evening, and I had been engrossed in the book all day. I only stopped for a while to speak with Michelle over the phone. I also ate during that time. When it was time for the dinner and awards ceremony, I got dressed in a suit. Thane didn't come home the whole day, and I was a little worried about him. At the ceremony, I saw him speaking with the registrar and Alpha Harry. I felt calmer. I sighted Zion walking towards me, and I smiled as he sat beside me. “So, how's it going?” Zion asked, and I shrugged.“I feel the intense urge to run out of the Academy to check up on Franklin.” I sighed. “He was badly hurt when I last left him.”“Why do I sense a but coming?” “But I'm scared of losing my life.” I said. “As you should be.” Zion muttered.“Because what if he decides to kill me? Or do something even worse to me?” “I don't believe he'd do that.” Zion said, sounding very convinced. “Well, have you started reading your book?” I asked, and he nodded at
Thane's POV After my short workout session, I hurried back to the room to have my bath. Scarlett was still sleeping peacefully at that time. I slipped into the bathroom, slipped out when I was done, and changed into fresh clothes. I went over my plan to swoon the King all over again. If there's a chance for me to rise above being just a regional Alpha, and seize more power than my parents think, maybe I'll have the freedom to do whatever I choose.I walked out of the room, and headed straight for the Registrar's office. “Come in.” He ordered before I could knock on his door. He was holding the morning's newspapers, which made me wonder who still uses them. “Good morning , Registrar.” I greeted. “Morning, Thane.” He responded , dropping the papers on the table. “Are you ready?”“I nodded, having released most of the tension in my body, “I am.” Registrar Thane stood up and led me out of the office to the King's quarters in the Academy. It was sparkling clean. I tried to maintain t
Scarlett's POV I was feeling a lot of pain in my lower abdomen. Although it was getting better over time, it still hurt. My phone rang while I was still on the bed. It was already very bright, and Thane had left the room. Although Friday is a free day, he had to do something with King Jon. “Hi girl.” I moaned, still laying on the bed.“What's up with you? Why are you looking like you got bent over the whole night?” Michelle asked with a sassy tone.I raised an eyebrow, and nodded once.“Wait… ah… fucking… minute!” Michelle giggled. I squealed as she giggled. I then started laughing, rolling over my aching stomach. “You got some D?”“I did.” I giggled, rolling my eyes.“Wait…” Michelle frowned, “don't tell me it was some beast shit you did right there.” “No.” I said, taken aback. “It was Thane.”“Thane as in the disrespectful , handsome , and tall Thane?” She asked, and I nodded gently, still giggling. “Well, that's one hell of a catch.” Michelle said. “You just moved from ‘scared
Thane's POV I woke up almost an hour earlier than my usual time. It was still very dark. The time was just 4:32AM. In a very long time, that was the best sleep I had had, although it was very short. I never expected it to happen. I had spent the evening begging Rose to come over, but she wouldn't agree because it was a full moon and their security was always at its peak due to the invasion of several boys. I planned to jerk off for most of the night until it all happened. I managed not to move as Scarlett was in my arms. She had slept off almost immediately after we had sex. It was immediately after she had her bath. I stared at her face, feeling my chest pump really hard. I had had sex with several girls, and there's nothing that should make this feel like the best I've had, although it does. Everything about it was perfect. From the soft kisses, to the aggressive ones, to the slow pounding. It was all good. I most likely would have made the move if she hadn't. Slowly, her eye
