Scarlett's POV

My body was still pinned against the wall. I hated Thane with my whole existence, yet my body burned with… desire? He had figured me out before I could even play any of my cards. I should probably tell him about myself before he decides to take it to anyone else.

And about Alpha Harry? He could barely even touch me before Thane knocked on the door.

I shook my head, taking a very deep breath before walking towards Registrar John's office, and midway, I turned back.

“What's the essence?” I asked myself. It wouldn't stop Thane from pursuing me, especially now that he has evidence.

I went back to the room, took the three books, and then I went straight to the library. I texted Zion to meet me up there.

It was an event filled week because the King was in the Academy, so the library was literally empty. We could talk freely.

“So, Thane knows I'm not Seth, and he has evidence.” I said, and Zion’s eyeballs widened.

“Does he know that you're a lady?” Zion asked.

“I mean, he has suspicions, and he's been trying to touch my boobs ever since, but he hasn't succeeded.” I shrugged.

“There's still a chance then.” Zion said.

“A chance for what?”

“A chance to turn things around?” Zion said, trying to convince me. “This is very easy. He can remain suspicious, but I doubt him calling you out on his suspicion.”

“Look, I'm tired of constantly hiding.” I sighed. “What if I just tell him the truth, and we get this all over with?”

Zion was quiet for a while. He only stared at me like I was giving up too quickly. There was honestly nothing I could do about it anymore.

“Okay, how about we try one more thing?” Zion asked. “If it doesn't work, then we can move on from it.”

“Let me hear it.” I muttered, and he pitched his idea.

“Okay, that makes sense, but do you have it with you here? Or how would we get it?” I asked, referring to the material that I was going to use for the plan to work.

“I have it right in my room.” Zion said. “It's for the school, and we used it for a stage drama, but I didn't return it, and they never asked.”

“Well then, let's finish up here, and then we'll get it.” I said, taking a deep breath.

Maybe this situation isn't so hopeless.

I brought out the books, and Zion sighed.

“I found out something about this beast situation.” Zion said, and I got very interested.

“You could have started with that since.” I tutted. “What's going on?”

“The Sutherlands and the Wests are out of the possible families that he's from.” Zion said, and I frowned.

“What do you mean?” I asked, and he took one of the books. It was the one about the genealogy of several families. He flipped open several pages , and eventually stopped at one. He then turned the book back to me after he reached a particular page.

“So, read the bit about the Sutherlands.” Zion said, and I looked into the book. “Especially the last date.”

“And the last of the Sutherlands…” I paused. “The last?”

“Just keep reading.” Zion urged, and I looked back into the book.

“And the last of the Sutherlands, Cameron Sutherland married Jennifer West after the destruction of his family from the great battle between the West and the North.” I read.

“The North and West were always at peace until the battles started.” Zion answered my question before I could even ask. “It was just about 50 years back, and it was a very quick battle.”

“Who won?” I curiously asked.

“I'd say the West, because they got their demands.” Zion said.

“And what about the Wests?” I asked, and he turned the pages from where he sat.

“Read the last bit about the Wests.” He said, pointing at the exact place.

“The Wests vowed never to leave the West Wolf kingdom unless on official assignment. The vow also established that any West that stayed out of the West for too long would have a heart attack if he refuses to go back home regardless of his status.” I read, and then nodded.

“That means that…”

“He can't be a West, else he'd have died.” I said, and Zion nodded.

“So, that leaves us with the Smiths, Vargrs, and Kravens.” Zion said, and my chest tightened.

“He's definitely not a Kraven.” I muttered. “He can't be. He must not be.”

“Why?” I asked.

“He'd be my family member and I…” I paused, unsure of what to say. I like him? Do I? I don't even know what he looks like. I don't know anything else.

“Let's just imagine he's a Vargr or a Smith.” I said, and Zion sighed. He just looked confused, and then shook his head again.

“A Vargr? Really?” Zion asked. “Will a king really let anyone in his family stray as a beast?”

“He can't be a distant family or stuff.” I shrugged. “As long as he's not a Kraven.”

“Although, the Smiths have an extensive history of several rituals.” Zion said, and I got very attentive. “What if he's just a product of carrying his family's burdens?”

“There's only one way to find out.” I sighed, preparing my mind to figure it all out.

We left the library and went straight to Zion’s room. I used the material, and I felt more like a boy. Heck, I might have felt something dangling right between my legs.

We went to the talent show , and it was absolutely fun.

There were several talented people, a few clowns, and definitely the ones that just wanted to have an audience with the King. My favorites of them all were the comedians. They had the whole place shaking, and in the end, a comedian won.

I went back to my room, and sat on the bed, looking at the clock countdown, just so I could go see Franklin. Thane, who was my biggest problem at the moment, hadn't arrived, and I was getting very nervous.

I was pacing around the room when he walked in. He looked very tired, and he paid me no attention. I was just waiting for him to notice me, but it was like he didn't care, or he wasn't bothered, but I need this thing to work out tonight, and I need it to work quickly.

Thane went straight to his bed, and laid on it. He was looking around still, and his eyes wandered to me.

“Why are you looking at me?” Thane asked, and I responded by doing just one thing. I removed my shirt.

I could see his eyes widen, and his brows furrowed into a frown, staring at my bare chest with no boobs on it. I was wearing a fake abs compression shirt, but it blended perfectly with my skin, that if you weren't looking too close, you wouldn't notice. It made my stomach look flat without abs, and that made it even more perfect.

“Okay, you're a guy.” Thane shrugged, sitting up. “That doesn't mean you're not a fraud.”

I decided to tell half the truth. I stood up from the bed, and walked towards the door.

“I was running away from people, so I had to buy Seth's Identity for a while, and that's why I'm here.” I said, and he nodded.

Thane stood up also, and my chest started heaving again. My heart thumped really hard. There was nothing I could do to stop the way my chest was reacting.

“Look, you can just turn a blind eye.” I begged, but he didn't stop walking towards me. My heart began thumping really hard. “Let's just act like you don't know, and I'll be out of your way.”

“Please.” I begged, and he stopped just a few inches away from me. His hand held the door right beside my head, and he looked down at me.

“Don't try to kick me in the nuts.” He warned, before gently holding my waist.

Oh goodness, is he also gay?

“You played this really well.” Thane said, gently moving his hand up my body. He was literally trickling very slowly. “But thinking I wouldn't know a fake abs vest when I see one is condescending.”

My heart almost stopped beating as he tugged against the vest. I couldn't move. I was just glued to the walls. He lowered his head to my face, and my body began to heat up. I was intensely flustered, and my body shook at his every word. His hand moved to my back, and straight up to the top of the vest.

“Thane… you can't… tell… anyone…” I whispered, begging as he ripped the clothes off from behind me. The vest fell almost immediately , and I covered my boobs with my hands.

Thane didn't look at them. His eyes were just fixated on me as I almost died of embarrassment. I still couldn't move. I only stared back at him, intent on seeing if his eyes would stray as expected.

Thane did something more shocking.

He grabbed my waist, and pulled me till my body touched his. His head lowered till his mouth was an inch away from mine. And just before I could do anything, he kissed me.

Thane fucking kissed me!!!

Scarlett's POV It was already evening, and I had been engrossed in the book all day. I only stopped for a while to speak with Michelle over the phone. I also ate during that time. When it was time for the dinner and awards ceremony, I got dressed in a suit. Thane didn't come home the whole day, and I was a little worried about him. At the ceremony, I saw him speaking with the registrar and Alpha Harry. I felt calmer. I sighted Zion walking towards me, and I smiled as he sat beside me. “So, how's it going?” Zion asked, and I shrugged.“I feel the intense urge to run out of the Academy to check up on Franklin.” I sighed. “He was badly hurt when I last left him.”“Why do I sense a but coming?” “But I'm scared of losing my life.” I said. “As you should be.” Zion muttered.“Because what if he decides to kill me? Or do something even worse to me?” “I don't believe he'd do that.” Zion said, sounding very convinced. “Well, have you started reading your book?” I asked, and he nodded at

Thane's POV After my short workout session, I hurried back to the room to have my bath. Scarlett was still sleeping peacefully at that time. I slipped into the bathroom, slipped out when I was done, and changed into fresh clothes. I went over my plan to swoon the King all over again. If there's a chance for me to rise above being just a regional Alpha, and seize more power than my parents think, maybe I'll have the freedom to do whatever I choose.I walked out of the room, and headed straight for the Registrar's office. “Come in.” He ordered before I could knock on his door. He was holding the morning's newspapers, which made me wonder who still uses them. “Good morning , Registrar.” I greeted. “Morning, Thane.” He responded , dropping the papers on the table. “Are you ready?”“I nodded, having released most of the tension in my body, “I am.” Registrar Thane stood up and led me out of the office to the King's quarters in the Academy. It was sparkling clean. I tried to maintain t

Scarlett's POV I was feeling a lot of pain in my lower abdomen. Although it was getting better over time, it still hurt. My phone rang while I was still on the bed. It was already very bright, and Thane had left the room. Although Friday is a free day, he had to do something with King Jon. “Hi girl.” I moaned, still laying on the bed.“What's up with you? Why are you looking like you got bent over the whole night?” Michelle asked with a sassy tone.I raised an eyebrow, and nodded once.“Wait… ah… fucking… minute!” Michelle giggled. I squealed as she giggled. I then started laughing, rolling over my aching stomach. “You got some D?”“I did.” I giggled, rolling my eyes.“Wait…” Michelle frowned, “don't tell me it was some beast shit you did right there.” “No.” I said, taken aback. “It was Thane.”“Thane as in the disrespectful , handsome , and tall Thane?” She asked, and I nodded gently, still giggling. “Well, that's one hell of a catch.” Michelle said. “You just moved from ‘scared

Thane's POV I woke up almost an hour earlier than my usual time. It was still very dark. The time was just 4:32AM. In a very long time, that was the best sleep I had had, although it was very short. I never expected it to happen. I had spent the evening begging Rose to come over, but she wouldn't agree because it was a full moon and their security was always at its peak due to the invasion of several boys. I planned to jerk off for most of the night until it all happened. I managed not to move as Scarlett was in my arms. She had slept off almost immediately after we had sex. It was immediately after she had her bath. I stared at her face, feeling my chest pump really hard. I had had sex with several girls, and there's nothing that should make this feel like the best I've had, although it does. Everything about it was perfect. From the soft kisses, to the aggressive ones, to the slow pounding. It was all good. I most likely would have made the move if she hadn't. Slowly, her eye

Scarlett's POV I finally composed myself, and I made my way to the theatre. I saw Zion immediately I walked in, and luckily, the seat beside him was free. I wriggled my way through till I finally sat beside him. “What… how…?” Zion asked, shaking his head. He folded his arms, and his eyes widened like he had just seen a ghost. “I almost died tonight, and so many things happened, but can we forget that right now?” I asked, and he nodded slowly, looking at me with surprise.“Just one question, though.” Zion asked, and I looked at him. “Is our royal beast alright?”I sighed, shaking my head, “I'm not sure.” We watched the movie in silence. It was unexpectedly funny. The arts department then had the stage to themselves, but all through that time, I was more focused on the king. Then, out of nowhere, people started leaving one by one.“What's going on?” I asked Zion.“It's a full moon.” He shrugged. “They're either going for a r

Scarlett's POVI was barely out of the house when I heard Franklin break the chains that held him down so tightly. I immediately knew that I was finished. I should have just listened to him from the onset. I ran into the woods where he knew best, and I heard the doors fling wide open. I heard him roar rather than howl. There was only one way to survive this, and it was in my wolf. Rather than shifting, I just kept running. I couldn't bear losing my phone, or having to shift in front of the guards if I get to safety. IF!My legs burned with pain, but I couldn’t stop. The sound of Franklin’s roar echoed behind me, shaking the trees around me. I tripped on a root but caught myself just in time.Run, Scarlett. Just run.Branches whipped my face, and the darkness around me felt like it was closing in. The full moon was the only thing that lit the path only slightly, and even that didn’t feel comforting anymore. I could hear him crashing through the forest behind me, fast and wild.At one
