Meeting Elenor

Jade pov

One of the house guards knocks on the door. Luca welcomes him in. When he comes in his followed by a lady. I take a deep breath and she smells strange. Like sage and saffron. But i feel her aura and it’s strong. i dont know to whether to trust her or not.

“Elenor! You are here!” Hannah shouts as she gets up. They know this strange person. I know my brows are pulled together in thought. I feel Lucas eyes on me.

I just shake my head like it’s nothing. I’ll talk to him later about it. I hear Hannah call my name.

“Yes, yes I’m sorry.I was off in my own little world. Hi, Elenor. it’s nice to meet you.” I say as I stand up. I have goosebumps on my arms. But I shake her hand. Her eyes go white she doesn’t let go of my hand right away.

I look at Luca and Hannah panicked. Luca gives a reassuring look and says. “she can get see the parts of the future.”

When she comes to she drops my hand immediately.

“ You child. You are going to be just fine. Protect your family when they realize who you are they will want you. Trust your mate.” She says.

I look nervous and was about to speak. But I hear someone walking up. turn around but no one is at the door. Strange. About a min later one of the warriors knock.

“Did I really just hear him walking up the hallway.”I say out loud. Luca and Hannah look shocked.

Elenor looks like she already knows.

“You’re strong. Your wolf is going to awaken any day.” She smiles.

Luca says. “that’s impossible. She has only been changed for 2 days. She shouldn’t have any senses yet. Let alone her wolf.”

“Have you not noticed how strong she is? Being an alpha I’m sure your wolf can feel her.” Elenor says dismissively.

“I have. that’s why we called you! What did you see?” Luca asks.

“That I can not say. Otherwise it might change the future. She is strong. Go look for her mate but don’t fret if he is not found.” She says.

“The shift will be harder if he is not here. But something is special about you, you will survive,I’ll stay here and work on some medicine that will help when the time comes.” she says to me.

“Thank you. But I’m sure I can manage without it.” I say.

“ I understand but I’ll have it with us just in case. No reason to be in pain if help is here for you child.” She say

Luca looks at me sadly.

“Nothing to be sad about. It’ll all work out.” I say with a warm smile.

I look at Elenor. “I’m sorry but I do have a question. Why do I not feel at ease around you?” I look at her suspiciously.

Elenor and Hannah chuckle, “I was wondering if you would pick up on that. It’s because I’m a witch. Your wolf naturally doesn’t trust any other supernatural creatures. remember all of us cannot be trusted. Some will make your hackles stand. Really take that into consideration.” Elenor says.

“Just amazing” luca chimes in. “Most young wolves take years to read people.but you can already tell the difference from a witch energy and wolves.” As he says that his puffs his chest out proud.

I smile and say . “I’ve always been able to do that. You know this. It’s just more intense now.”

Hannah looks at her watch. “we have to get going. I told our neighboring pack we will be there this afternoon.”she says in a hurry.

Elenor grabs my arm. “ Here drink this. It’ll mask your scent to only your mate. But other wolves and creatures you will smell like a human.But I can’t mask your power.” She looks worried when she says that. She looks at Hannah. “ keep her safe.she is more important than you know.” Elenor try’s to mask the worry when she tells Hannah.

I grab the vile and drink it down. Luckily it doesn’t take like much of anything.

She hands me 3 more and says. “take them every 2 days. I’ll have some more for you when you come home.”

I take the viles and thank her.

As I walk out I look at my phone. Wyatt texted me updates about the ranch and seems everything is calm, but life is always calm before the storm.

“Let me run and get a few more things in order and we will be ready.” Hannah says as she grabs Elenor. I’m sure they have some catching up to do.

Luca looks at me as I lay down on his couch,

“This… its scary.. I have so much to lose. I don’t even know if I want a mate. I can’t leave everything I’ve built.” I say to him.

“I know. But if it is a low ranking or even a beta wolf. They may move here. I’d welcome them into my pack.” He says with a smile:

“You’re going to feel a pull when you find him. It’ll be like you have never lived before. If you touch him you will have electric tingles. It’s so hard to explain. But you will know.” He says

“Because of that only touch him when you are ready to let him know you are mates. The potion and help with your scent but not the actual bond. He will feel drawn to you. If you feel overwhelmed call me or let Hannah know we will get you out of there.” He sounds so serious but his smiling as he tells me this.

“Thanks, but why are you smiling?” I ask him.

“ you will understand when you met your mate!” Is all he says in return:

I gave him a hug and we started walking down to the front.

“Hey, by the way I’m pretty sure Everett vowed to protect me earlier.” I say as we walk down the stairs

Luca literally stopped mid step down the stairs.

“What did you just say?” He asks Looking bewildered.

“Well he was one of the guards you sent over. His like my second bestfriend. And his exact words he will protect me with his life blah blah blah.” I say thinking it’s funny.

Luca. Is just staring at me. I see his eye glaze over so I know his talking to someone.

He looks at me and asks . “Do you know what this means?”

“Nope. But I figured he will just hang around a little more to make sure I’m ok.” I say and shrug my shoulders:

“Our wolf don’t pledge protection to just anyone, maybe his alpha or mate. But not to a friend. Im going to ask Elenor to look into this more.” He says.

“He also will be living with you now. Once a pledge is made. it’s full protection and our wolves won’t accept not being able to protect.” He sounds disappointed as he tells me.

“I’m a little blown away. he didn’t ask you about this?” I say when I turn around.

“No, I normally would be mad that my top warrior didn’t talk to me about this but I know if his Wolf feels something it’s needed. I trust him and his wolf.” Sound so proud of his warrior as he talks.

I sit down on the stair. I know we have a little time before Hannah is ready. She is your typically girl and over packs for everything.

“Why do I not like Elenor? I know I’m on edge because she is a witch. But something just doesn’t feel right with her? “ I ask Luca in a hushed tone.

“honestly I don’t know. I’ve always had that feeling with her. But Hannah and her grew up together. If my mate trusts her so do I.” He says

I sigh and say. “I’ll try,I did just drink a random potion. For all I know it could be poison.”

Luca laughing as he says. “It’s not. That I can promise. How is Wyatt handling this?”

I know his trying to distract me. And I let him.

“His doing ok. Scared, mad, worried. His mad at you. I wouldn’t go to the ranch till I get home.” All seriousness back in my tone
