Once we got home showed the guards where they can sleep in the bunk house, they also had a few rooms in the house if they wanted. I swear Luca is over reacting.

I’m exhausted but I know I need to talk to wyatt. I sit down at the table after starting the kettle. I text Wyatt to come talk to me.

“Hey, mom what’s up.” He says as he comes into the kitchen.

“ Hey bud, We need to talk. I know you know about how humans can turn to werewolves but you know how it works? “I ask him.

He pulls the kettle off and pours me some tea.

“Yeah,you drink his blood, you turn into a wolf. I’ve heard the shift can be extra painful.” He says

I look at the tea while stirring it slowly. “Yes. but there is a little more to it. Most people won’t survive the shift unless their mate is present. It’s like a safe guard the moon goddess made so wolves can’t just try to takeover.”I say as i look at him.

see fury. “Why the fu$k would uncle Luca turn you! You don’t have a mate. Mom I won’t lose you.. I can’t lose you. You are all I have. I’m 17! I’m just a kid. I can’t be an orphan!” He says angry and scared.

I get up and hug him. I hold him like my life depends on it.

“You won’t. I promise to do everything in my power to make sure you don’t lose me. Because I want to find a way you don’t lose me. I need you and the guy to handle the ranch. I need to go with Hannah to some packs to look for a mate. And to meet her friend who might have a way to help me.” I say trying to to sound hopeful.

“Mom,I’ll do anything, just don’t leave me!” He says.

“ I know baby I won’t. I promise! Go get some rest. I’ll be gone for about a week. Everything is in my office. You have stepped up before so I’m sure you can handle it.” I say as give him a kiss on his forehead.

“ Wyatt, before you go, stay away from Lucas pack until I get home. Please.” I say with a worried tone

“I should go and kick his ass for hurting you.”He says as he turns around.

“Hey come here. He didn’t hurt me. He saved my life. I know you know I was attacked. It was worst then you know.” I tell him

As his standing in the door way. I see the fists he makes and his muscles are tense.

I grab his arm. “Wy, it’s going to be ok. I love you. I know you’re angry. I was and honestly still am. But Luca gave me the chance to be here with you right now. So be thankful. We still have time together. “ I tell him.

“I know mom. How did we even get here? We have been to his pack so many times. Why get attacked now? “ he asks.

“I wish I could answer that. But I think it was just a freak accident. Even in our world things happen.” I said. Giving him a hug more for me than him at this point.

“You know! mom I could get used to you being taller. It does suck my arm rest isn’t there anymore. Now I have to stretch a little.” He chuckles

“Boy go to bed. You aren’t that tall.” I say as I laugh.

“Mom I’m the same height as uncle Luca. People would think I’m a wolf if I didn’t smell like a human.” He smiles

His always be so proud on how tall he is.

I give him one last hug before he heads to bed. Thankfully he can still find some positive in this. Because deep down I feel none. Just doom of losing him.

I sit down and finish my tea and text Hannah let her know I’m I can leave as early as tomorrow.

“Great! Elenor will be here in the morning! She might come with us! But she said she has news. So that’s a good thing.” She responds almost instantly.

I don’t even reply. I’m so drained. Mentally drained. I go up stairs and run a bath and put in some lavender and other oils. Light a sage stick in the corner to help ward off the bad vibes I’m feeling.

As get ready to take a bath I look at myself again in the mirror. There is a slight ache where the rouges claws dug deep. But I notice something.

I have a new tattoo over it. It’s a crescent moon and a star above it. Strange that wasn’t there the other day. I’ll have to ask Hannah about it in the morning.

After a long soak I head to bed. Knowing the next 2 weeks are literally a fight for survival. And I have a lot to lose.
