Chapter 40

Jolene goes to bed early in hopes of seeing Apollo. The wolf has gone out to get food. Tonya is sitting in front of the campfire. She stares at the fire and is using it to see and get bits and pieces of the future. The wolf returns and he sits himself across from her. He starts to cook the dinner that he had caught.

He can't control his curiosity as he asks her, “Why are you scared of me?”

She smirks and corrects him, “I'm not scared, I don't even know your name!”

He doesn't take his eyes off of the fire, “I’m Ben.”

She can't contain her laughter, “A big bad wolf and your name is Ben?”

She continues to laugh, “You don't even look like a Ben!”

He watches her in amusement as she goes into a giggling fit.

She continues, “You look like a tough guy. You act tough, but your name is Ben!”

He joins in with her laughter for a moment then smiles, “Nah, I’m just playing with you!”

She stares at him in curiosity, “Then what is your name?”

He smiles up at her, “My name is Teago.”

She goes silent
