I walked out of the throne room with one victory under my belt. We left the dragon head in the room. Callum wanted it. A gift of our newfound friendship.

Callum had given me Jonathan's identification tag for the Royal Battles. I was now a temporary Prince in this fight. I couldn't do the same thing as the Princes and Princesses, but it was proof that a commoner was now in the runnings. This didn't mean that the nobles would treat me with any respect. In their eyes, they probably wanted me to beg for their support. I didn't need them.

"James," said Fiona rushing up behind me. "Are you really James?" I turned around to face my sister. The moment she showed up in court, I held everything back from removing her head from her body. Even now, I imagined how it would feel to see the same twisted face of grief that I had on her face.
