Sathe stepped out of his shorts, following Verya into the cold water. A shiver travelled up his spine as the water covered him up to his shoulders, his toes tipping against the bed of the lake. Water dripped down Verya’s body as she stepped out of the lake and Sathe followed after her. It hadn’t been so cold when they were beneath the water, but now the wind was whistling against their skins, igniting little shivers down their bodies. Verya reached behind her, and Sathe grabbed her hand, tracing her steps back into the house. It was warmer than the outside; the little heat from the bulb above their heads and the reduction of the cold air that wafted around them…to Sathe, it felt nice, so much different from the dungeons he had been in. With a towel, he dried his body and hair, eyes drifting over to Verya as she did the same. She was still naked, aggressively digging the white towel into her head in an attempt to dry her hair. The path back to the cottage was not something Verya looked forward to. It was a long way, far from the pack house, but that was one thing Verya liked about it.
