chapter 1 Go to hell

"Dolah, what are you going to do about arranging the money for your brother's surgery?" my friend Pinny asked. "The doctor made it very clear that next year the surgery must be done at any cost."

I swallowed hard, I could feel a painful tightness in my throat. My brother was everything I had in this whole world and I did not even know what to do, how to do it, or who I could ask for help. Taking a deep breath, I said to my friend, "I will try to look for a job that can pay me well. I still have a whole year in my hand to make a plan. I will not let anything happen to my brother."

"Well, I know of a company that can pay you well," Pinny said. "But only males are allowed to work in that company. Maybe you could try going there."

My eyes narrowed in confusion. "How is that possible?" I asked Pinny in disbelief. "What kind of a rule is that? I cannot believe that someone could put such a rule in the company."

Pinny raised her eyebrows, giving me a glassy stare. I could see that her body temperature was about to rise. "Dolah, this is no time for politicians, okay? Your brother's life is at stake, and you are busy thinking about all the other women who are not in need of money like you. Come on, Dolah, you have to focus."

I lowered my gaze and bit my upper lip. It was so stupid of me to forget the reason why I wanted the job. "I'm sorry," I said softly.

My friend Pinny smiled. "It's okay. Tomorrow, you must go and try to apply for a job there. If they don't offer you a job, then we will make another plan," she said.

"Thanks a lot, my dear friend," I said with a smile.

"I'm like your sister, and sisters don't thank each other," Pinny said, rising off the chair. We were currently in a cafe. The fun part is that we did not order any coffee. "Come on, let's go. It's getting late."

The two of us stopped a taxi as soon as we reached outside and went home.

"Good evening ," My personal assistant greeted me with a slight smile. He was tall and had blue eyes and short black hair.

And I scoffed at him.

"Since when did you start to call me Sir?" I shoot him a questioning gaze. "You can tell me what you want without trying to act smart with me."

Zade pulled a chair and sat in front of me with a smirk. "I'm glad you did not beat around the Bush ," He shamelessly said."It's time for you to find new assistance for yourself, as you know that I'm planning to start my own company so I won't have so much time to handle everything."

I displayed a wide grin, my eyes glowing with inner light, I was truly happy for him. He had been by my side ever since my father died, letting him start his company was nothing compared to what he had done for me." Congrats man, I'm truly happy for you and I wish you the best, but I have a condition for." I said

Daze frowned slightly, "And what is the condition," he asked.

I flashed a smirk, "Well you have to find me a good assistant as you are." I told him.

"I will find you a best assistant that you won't even miss me by any chance." Daze said.

"Okay then, we should celebrate your victory tonight. what do you think?" Asked him.

"I Will celebrate my victory when you have a wife." Daze said, rising off the chair. "See you later." He said and left.

He knew that it was like making the impossible possible because I was never going to get married after what my mother did to my father. I just think that all women are the same and they want nothing but money, their world revolves around money and nothing else. I would rather stay single than being fooled by a woman.

My heart aches whenever I look at my father's face. He loved my mother dearly but she betrayed his trust and he died only because of her greediness.

With a sigh, I rose off the chair and left the office through the back door. I just wanted to go home and get a good rest because I was truly tired after sitting for a long day.

After driving for a few minutes, I finally reached my apartment. It was not as big as my mansion but it was luxurious and comfortable to stay in. It was better because it was not as big as my mansion for me to live alone. Honestly I was really lonely, sometimes Daze would come and visit me but most of the time I was alone, that's why I've decided to move out of my mansion and started living in this apartment, it was much better.

I walked to my room and placed the briefcases on my bed and headed to my room to take a shower. I stood in the shower, the droplets of cold water hitting my skin. After finishing taking a shower I changed into comfortable clothes and went to bed and dozed off into a deep slumber.

The next day.

Dolah's POV

I woke up abruptly to the sound of my blaring alarm. After stretching, I got out of bed and headed straight to the bathroom. I took a quick shower and emerged in no time. I changed into a black pencil skirt, a white shirt tucked in, and a black suit jacket. It wasn't expensive, but it was enough for me, and I was content. I applied lipstick to my lips only because I didn't need to put on makeup since I was already beautiful. My round, heart-shaped face, shining green eyes, long black hair cascading down my back in soft curls, and petite body made me stand out in the crowd.

After locking my door, I left my 3 room house. Stopping a taxi, I headed to the address that Pinny had sent to my phone.

"Thank you driver, here is the money." I said give him the money which he took, after that I got out of the tax. I sighed when I looked at the huge building in front of me. All I knew was that I had to swallow my ego for the sake of my brother's life. After taking deep breaths, I walked inside the company. As soon as I entered, everyone looked at me like I was an alien because only men were allowed in the company, as Pinny had said. I held my head high as I walked to the receptionist.

"Hi, I came here to apply for a job. Can I please meet the manager?" I said with a small smile. I was feeling awkward with all the eyes on me.

The receptionist looked at me in disbelief. "The elevator will lead you to the first floor. That's where you will find the CEO," he said.

Without saying anything else to him, I left the receptionist and headed to the elevator. As he said, it left me on the first floor. I took a deep breath before knocking on the door.

Come in," said the cold voice from the inside. I felt a shiver running down my spine. But that did not stop me at all, I opened the door and entered inside.

I closed the door and walked to the table and stood in front of the so-called CEO.

"Good day, Sir. The receptionist said I should come here. I heard that you are looking for a personal assistant and I'm more than capable for this job," I said.

"Leave," he said shortly without removing his eyes from his laptop.

I honestly did not expect him to behave like this, but I know that I had to do everything in my power to get the job. "Sir… P.. Please give me a chance. I really need this job. I promise you that I will never disappoint you," I begged.

And this time he raised his head and glared at me angrily. "I said leave. No woman is allowed to work in this company, and that includes you. Close the door on your way out," he said coldly.

My face reddened in anger as I glared at him. "What do you think of yourself??" I gritted my teeth, my body quivering in anger. "How can you be so heartless, what kind of a rule is that?Do you think woman are not capable enough for this job?? You know what? You can go and rot In hell with this company of yours." I said angrily and stormed out of the office.
