LOGINAva’s POV
He turned his head around. His fierce jaw came down to my face, and the water on his hair was still dropping, it bonked on my forehead. But his eyes—there was something in his eyes, as if he wasn't happy with me, and his face was too cold to be my usual Liam. Who was this? "Ava." He muttered, his voice outrageously cold; it sent chills down my spine, and my heart began hammering in my chest. Then he placed his hand gently on my arms and took it off his body, turning around and completely facing me now. "Liam," I muttered, my voice barely above whispers. His expression cold, and was that anger I just saw in his eyes? I was supposed to be the angry one here, what right does he have to be furious after what he did? Was it because I didn't come into this room howling and growling like an angry wolf? "Where are you coming from?" His voice broke. Oh really, he hasn't been home since the crack of dawn, and he knew what today was for us and now questioning me, who just left the house a few minutes back to look for him. My anger was returning, this man here wasn't the man I fell in love with, I needed my husband back, this wasn't him. "I went to look for you," I muttered once, finding my way to my wardrobe. I needed to change and go to sleep, it had been a hectic day for me today, waiting aimlessly for a man who doesn't seem to want to give me any regard anymore. He didn't show up for our anniversary and he wasn't in any way feeling remorseful about it. He didn't even treat it as anything special, like he used to. "That's a lie, your phone was busy all through this night? And I called you with a different line and it went through but you hung up." He voiced, anger dripping from his voice. My mouth made an oh sound, then my head suddenly snapped at him. What was he trying to insinuate? That I was on a call with someone suspicious.. And that I ended the call on purpose? What had come over my husband? My mouth was becoming dry and my face had paled by now. Wait did Liam just suspect me? When he was actually the one misbehaving and I went out to look for him? I turned around, facing him now, with some button on my shirt released, but my eyes hurt and tears were welling up in them. "I was on a call with Lisa and when you called with a different line, my battery went flat," I explained, the hurt still in my eyes, he saw it but gave no care in the world. Three years into my marriage, I never believed Liam would say something like this to me or behave like this one day. My heart was heavy as I walked back to the wardrobe. He was there, no words from him, meaning he doesn't believe me. The pain in my heart was getting intense, and tears began streaming down my face. Just then, his phone rang. He didn't pick it at first and silenced it, then it came ringing again. This time, he picked it up, exiting the room. Liam now takes secret calls. I felt pain pierce through my chest like a knife, my leg getting weak I almost crumbled on the floor. No I wouldn't let this go on, my marriage was on the brink of getting crumbled and I must do something, if I don't say anything about this, I might lose my marriage for good. My mind was getting reeled up with panic and I went after him, now in my pajamas. When I got to the living room, Liam wasn't there. Was it so secretive that he couldn't even take it in the living room and had to go outside? I pulled the door open and followed suit, ready to fully get involved with whatever he had going on. As I approached closer, I could hear him clearly, his voice distressed but I hadn't been able to comprehend what the conversation was all about. Until I heard him call the name. My head jerked and I drifted back to memory lane. I knew this name so well. Just then he spoke again. "I need to spend some time at home, else my wife will start getting suspicious of what's not there, tell your cousin or someone to take you." He hissed, his voice low and a bit laced with tiredness as if the person was bugging him. I haven't been able to really comprehend anything they were talking about yet, but I sure know Liam had been getting involved with his Ex, the reason for his sudden change of attitude. I bit on my lower lip, my eyes getting stung with tears, and a heavy stone settled on my chest.Ava's POVBut since he said it wouldn't happen again, I decided to leave it at that, besides he didn't sleep with her.I kept laughing at the video, and Liam laughed along with me.The next thing was my eyes, which were glued to his phone moved past his fingers to his lips. How I love him so much, and his succulent lips I could have myself munching on them all night.Knowing I had been distracted, he traced his eyes up to my face, smile crept up to his lips.Slowly, his eyes began going down to my lips, before I could know it, he grabbed mine into his and we began relishing on each other's lips—the man that I love, my heart never ceasing to tingle anytime I stared at his face, he was my everything.---------Having such a blissful night, I woke up with my mind at ease and a bright smile on my face.I stretched myself so hard on the bed and suddenly jerked when my eyes went to the other side of the bed and I couldn't feel Liam.My eyes darted around."Liam?" I called but no reply, it w
Ava's POV My heart pounded in my chest, and I tightened my fist beside me, the name Ivy ringing in my head like a plague that had just found a comfortable place for itself. When did she come back to California? This question lingered in my mind. Ivy had travelled to New York and started a life there after her breakup with Liam, why was she back? For some reason, I felt threatened, panic flooding my stomach, and it churned with upset. Was she back to take Liam from me?She was said to be a ruthless girl who goes after whatever she wants and wouldn't stop until she gets it.Just then I heard my name. "Ava?" That was Liam.I had been caught."Why did you follow me here?" He questioned, his face scrunched up as if disappointed and upset."When did you start eavesdropping?" He added, still fuming."With all you've been doing lately, you don't expect this from me?" I muttered, turning around to leave, then he held me back. His hand on my shoulder and his hazel eyes staring into mine.He

Ava’s POV"Hey Ava, what's up, aren't you sleeping?" Lisa's voice came up, although sounding sleepy, but still very bright. I stayed quiet for some time, our chamber was a bit far from Liam, what if she doesn't know anything? Either way, I should still ask."Ava?" She called again when she didn't hear any word from me."I'm here," I muttered."What's up, you don't sound okay, is anything the matter? Why are you not sleeping by this time?" She muttered, concern dripping from her voice. "Lisa, did you notice anything strange around Liam at the office recently?" I asked, my voice just above whispers. She was silent for some time, maybe trying to put it together. Then she finally sounded, "What happened, why are you asking? Is anything going on with your marriage?" She asked, her tone worried and direct. Lisa was my very good friend, if not more like a sister, she always helped figure out any issues I had, and then we found solutions to them together, she was just the best person I had
Ava’s POVWhat was he trying to say? I needed to go to my husband, I don't have all night."Mr James?" I called, my expression questioning, then he nodded, his eyes as if not too sure of whatever he was about to say."But, I think Mr Reyes left a long time ago. It wasn't even his usual closing time when he left." He muttered. My breath increased, and I could hear my heart pounding hard in my chest. What does he mean he left a long time ago? What does he mean my husband left the office already and didn't come home to meet me his wife? That couldn't be true, maybe he had left to get something earlier and came back to the office."Mr James are you sure about what you're telling me?" I questioned, my voice fierce."Yes Mrs Reyes," He said, but my eyes stared at him and my face squinted, feeling skeptical. How could he say my husband left already, when he wasn't home?Without saying any more word, I picked up my bag from my car and went to the elevator. A few minutes later, I arrived at Li
Ava's POVI looked out through the window of our penthouse. My mind drifted awayband my eyes filled with nothing but yearning for my husband. My heartbeat increasing by the minute. My husband and I had loved each other deeply since we were in the universityI was everything to him just as he was to me.But lately, Liam started changing. Why did my husband who used to prioritise me above everyone else and also tell me every single thing going on in his life no longer does that?Liam was slipping away from my hand slowly, yet I didn't seem to know what to do about it With a heavy-filled heart, I stared back at the dining table, the food I had prepared with so much love in my heart looking back at me sad and cold. This was the fourth time I'm preparing food for Liam today, but none of it has been eaten by him.I had been in this house waiting for Liam since the crack of dawn. I knew he was changing but I hadn't expect him to behave like this today of all day."Ma’am, I think you should
